I've done business with Konica since 2000. I've had great machines, great service, and a great…read moresalesman. Had is the operative word. My copier lease expired this year and I found out I'd been assigned a new sales rep. She and her manager came out to see me and told me I could get a better copier for less money. Music to my ears! They did tell me I'd lose the ability to make 11x17 copies. Really? Not something I use a great deal. No problem. What they didn't disclose was that I would no longer have a paper tray that could accomodate 8 1/2 x 14 unless I paid more. Big deal? Yes. Nor did they disclose that the copier could no longer send me PDF's of incoming faxes. Big deal? Yes. Nor did they disclose that this copier could not have multiple jobs loaded for processing like my old copier. Big deal? Yes. First they told me they'd have service out to resolve problems 2 and 3. Service had to tell me and my sales person that the copier didn't have those capabilities. Sales then told me, the problems could be resolved -- at more cost to me. Afterall, it was my fault for not reading the literature more thoroughly. I'll accept blame on the paper tray. The literature did disclose that fact. The other two problems? No, those weren't my fault for not studying the literature. Not unless I had the technical expertise of their service satff. If the person selling the equipment didn't know the limited capabiliies untill service told them, how should I have been able to discern that? Their final comment to me? I could buy an 8 1/2 x 11 paper drawer. I might go for that. i could buy software that would sit on my desktop and convert the jpeg from the copier to a PDF file. If I've got to do that, I could just scan it and I'd have a PDF -- and not spend $500 for their software. Not being able to spool jobs? Sorry. Wrong copier. So my upgraded copier is technologically miles behind the copier I got 3 years ago. And my salesperson has no desire to rectify the problem. Bye-bye Konica. You've seen the last of my business.
