Lakeshore Landscaping - Different sized, half-dead bushes from not being trimmed properly.

    Lakeshore Landscaping

Motor City Landscape Service has done the landscaping for my condo complex since 2022. They do a…read moredecent job with the grass and snow removal, but they DON'T KNOW HOW TO TRIM BUSHES! All of our bushes have looked like utter SHIT for the last four years. The owner's excuse the first year was that he had a new crew that he hadn't been able to train yet. No one from our HOA's Board seems to have confronted him about the fact that the guys should be trained by now. The pictures included were taken 5 days after bushes were trimmed. They are all different shapes and sizes and only about 2 inches were trimmed when the bushes should have been cut to HALF that size. They are scraggly and many are half dead because they need to be cut much, much smaller to make them fill out. The juniper hedges were only trimmed about an inch. They are sloppy and wavy, and the ends overflow onto our patios. MESSY, TERRIBLE WORK! I don't know how they can walk away from freshly cut bushes that are still blocking windows and AC units and think they've done a good job. I'm so sick of how this place looks which I why I'm finally leaving this review on both Yelp and Google. These guys usually show up on Wed or Thur, which are our trash days, making that schedule an inexplicable choice seeing as they have to work around trash bags and bins. But sometimes they come on a random day. Sometimes the guys choose to take their break on my porch - also a weird choice because my camera alerts are going off, and it feels awkward knowing they're right there smoking and taking phone calls. If any of you are confronted with the option of living with an HOA, run the other way!!! A Homeowner's Association means that a few of your inexperienced, idiot neighbors are deciding how to spend your money. They make choices that primarily only benefit themselves, and you're stuck with a trashy landscape (amongst other sucks).

All FOUR times were NO SHOWS, all FOUR times "I" was the one calling to inquire as to why given flimsy excuses and no heads up as to an issue. False promises and lack of earnest customer service will shutter a business faster than anything. I take care of my 94 y/o mother and this monstrous migraine of a cluster was not at all appreciated nor was it necessary. Common courtesy would have gone a long way. Now I'm stuck scrambling to find another company who will actually do what they say and advertise.

I've been wanting to get to a nursery to buy some vegetables and herbs to plant. The problem is,…read moreWeigand's is a bit of a drive from my house, and I always seem to have something going on every weekend. But, I drive by Flower Barn Nursery whenever I go to the post office. I figured it was a place that just had flowers, like the name says. I was very happy to find that they had significantly more than that. They have a variety of herbs and vegetables, though they don't have a gigantic sea of them, like Weigand's. You will find several of many different kinds of herbs and vegetables, though. And, I don't need to plant 20 tomato plants, so smaller volume is fine by me. I bought chives, sweet basil, a peanut plant, and several Thai finger pepper plants. Each tray of the pepper plants had four plants on it. And, each one was only $2.99 (so, I got 4 pepper plants was a total of $2.99). There are also plenty of things for landscaping, and prices are less than, say, Weigand's. You might not see the fanciest, high-end things, but they have you covered for whatever you need for your garden. And, with gas prices being so high, I was very happy to save gas on the drive. There weren't many people here, which is a shame. A lot of people probably were just like me, and drove right past. I definitely won't make that mistake again.
