When it comes to finding a reputable business for live fresh/saltwater fish, plants, and inverts Bruce's for myself ranks #1. For starters the place is immaculate. There are no off putting odors, there aren't any cobwebs strewn around, everything is tidy and well organized. When it comes to livestock and to include plants, the tanks are crystal clear, the livestock is vibrant and healthy, and again...just perfectly maintained. You can absolutely tell that the owner and all the employees take great pride and love in what they do. All the employees are not only approachable but very informative and honest. Just really good, down to earth people doing what they love. The guppies here are a good price and great quality. The shrimp are beautiful as well but pricy so if you are looking for good shrimp and you don't mind spending a few extra bucks then I would recommend. read more

I was a disappointed with the Treatment that I received there. based on the people I have talked to, my personal history, and the many you tube videos and personal tutoring from the person i bought my tank from, there are many schools of thought when it comes to how quickly you should add fish to an aquarium. When I walked in and explained what my situation was I was immediately looked down upon, i felt as a "fish killer". The question I was asked is "are they all dead? Well if not they soon will be." I would've appreciated a little bit more encouragement and education on their part. I did proceed with the bacteria fix i was recommended and did a major water change. My fish Still aren't dying, and don't appear to be stressed. I just didn't appreciate the insubordination of the service. I was checking out new spots in my area to support small businesses. I had a list of other items to purchase for a beta tank i'm setting up, didn't buy it there. I'll be sticking with my local favorite place that has gotten to know "me" in just 3 visits, and whose knowledge and the way they communicate i appreciate. read more

Absolutely love this shop. I came in to browse today and ended up talking to one of the owners for a long time about fish and tanks. She helped me figure out a good plan and gave me stellar fish recommendations to try in the future. Long story short, I returned later that day and came home with some happy friends for my current 60 gallon community. I'm excited to find a great fish store downriver. I'm picky about my aquarium stores, and Bruce's is BY FAR my favorite in like at least a hundred mile radius. Bruce and Lauren are very knowledgeable, fun to talk with, and great to bounce ideas off of. They keep clean tanks, beautiful fish, and a pretty full line of just about whatever you'd need (and if they don't carry it they can usually get it). They have unusual animals too, like freshwater stingrays, various imported plecos, gorgeous koi, an incredible selection of african cichlids, not to mention the ever so cute and friendly Ajax (a black lab) that can be found roaming the store most days, wagging his tail and asking for you to play for a minute. I love this place, and I would recommend it to any aquarium or pond lover of all ages, and all levels of expertise. read more
