Atmosphere was phenomenal, crowd was great, food and drinks were your typical stadium pricing, but overall a great experience. We ubered to the game from our hotel to avoid traffic and parking. The amount of vendors outside the stadium was unreal too. So many pop up shops. I will say though, good luck getting online on your phone while being around that many people, we had to walk almost a mile away from the stadium to connect with uber. I would do this experience 100 times out of 100. Best football game of my life even though Michigan lost lol.

I like that while their music is first-rate, it's not a hoity-toity event each time. Yes, you can dress up and make a night out of it, but many people also go in jeans. Before the concerts they always have pre-concert lectures which tell you about the music that will be played that night, which is a really cool thing and very informative. The A2SO is a non-profit and they do a lot of great work for music education in local schools, so they're a great place to spend your money for a fun and different night out. In addition to their regular concerts, which are on Saturdays, they always have family concerts the Sunday afterwards, which are more kid-friendly. They do free Kinderconcerts for little ones at local libraries, and cheap Afternoon Delights concerts for senior citizens or folks who can't get out to a night show. All in all a fantastic part of our community.

Along with 964 wins, Michigan has captured nine national championships recognized by the NCAA: 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1918, 1923, 1933, 1948, and 1997. Two of those titles came during the poll era beginning in 1936. Michigan also claims national championships in 1932 and 1947. In recent years, Ohio State (931 wins) and Alabama (929 wins) have narrowed the gap. Good thing current Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has done a nice job keeping the program on the winning track. Since being hired as Michigan's coach in 2014 (first season in 2015), through the 2020 season, Harbaugh's record at the school has been 49-22 overall (.690) and 34-16 in the Big Ten (.680). In six complete seasons at the helm, Harbaugh's Michigan teams have completed their seasons ranked in the final top 25 polls four times (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019). Harbaugh guided the Wolverines to five straight major bowl appearances from 2015 to 2019. The squad played exceptionally hard and pulled away for an impressive victory. The arena was clean, easy to get to, and we were welcomed by friendly elderly security screeners. The fans were engaged and polite. Several times our seat neighbors helpfully explained a rule for me after I had to be told to sit down & be quiet by my girlfriend. "Why one star?" you ask. I answer your question with a question: how can an institution whose athletic tradition is bested only by its academic prestige, a school full of valiant victors and heroes conq'ring, a university Darth Vader himself called the Best In The World, how can this venerated landmark serve its paying guests food not fit for the livestock on faculty in East Lansing? At halftime our beloved Wolverines were clinging to a 3 point lead after star guard Olivia Olson sat much of the first half in foul trouble (she finished with 27 points, all after the break). We had arrived within time's bending sickle's compass, though I didn't know it yet. We ventured into the concourse and chose a lunch line without much thought. This carelessness has altered the trajectory of my otherwise unremarkable life. Nothing looked particularly appetizing, least of all the prices. The prices! Friends, Romans, countrymen, I could have finished my abandoned undergrad degree (not from UofM, didn't even get waitlisted) for less than the cost of these heat-lamp Hindenburgs . But a hungry man with a hangry lover is wont to make hasty decisions: a small pepperoni Buddy's pizza; a small cardboard boat of fries badly in need of sildenafil; a small lukewarm water set on the counter by an aggressively indifferent sandwich artist sometime during the regular season; a box of popcorn whose visage, to a lifelong resident of B1G corn country, inspires rage and sorrow at the lost joy of freshly popped 'n buttered maize from states that begin with I; this pathetic bounty, $36. No. $43. Wait, no, $28. The concession areas in Crisler clearly list prices, but no person from the battalion of service workers there employed will exchange money for food. "Uh huh," she grunts, ostensibly by way of reassurance, though a glance at my beloved confirms that neither of us are reassured. Ophelia, smarter and gentler than me, proposes a summary as seconds of unrecognition creep in this petty pace. "I think it's charging us for a chicken and fries combo, but I just wanted the fries." Comprehension lights upon Sturdy's countenance. "Aay! Ay, ay, gimme one'dem empy whites!" She calls back to her antecounter coworkers. For a brief moment I fear she's referring to me: there are less-accurate descriptions of your humble reviewer than an Empty White. Mercifully, a barren rectangular styrofoam container emerges and Sturdy takes it in one hand, grabs our fries uncovered-thumb-first with her other hand, and replaces the empty space with the empty white. Seefood® thinks for a moment, then regurgitates a total that Ophelia and I both recognize is lower than correct. I move to pay but Sturdy stops me as the numbers crawl through her mind like allied troops on Omaha Beach: slowly, with violent intent. "Naw dat ain' righ'." Our fries are still marinating in her thumbsweat as she uses her other hand to scroll the touch-screen menu UoMBCSD helpfully installed as part of their two-tailed experiment on the hungry unsuspecting masses of Crisler. Very nice indoor practice facility. Opaque roof lets sunlight come through without harsh glare…read more The facility is large and can handle several teams scrimmages and drills. EMU keeps the air inside pretty dry. Occasionally, the air is a bit humid but that's only on the steamiest of days outside. There is a convenient drop off lane that is covered off the main drive. Parking is conveniently located across the street. I have been bringing my daughter here for soccer practice for at least five years. I cannot believe there was no Yelp page for the EMU dome until I added the facility. Enjoy! A great EMU resource!

Had the pleasure of visiting the USA Hockey Arena for the first time to attend the final match of…read morethe 2019 World Junior Summer Showcase hockey tournament between the United States and Canada. My first impression was very positive because parking was super easy in the adjoining on-site lot that is plenty large enough for the size of the 3,504 seat hockey facility. It is an intimate venue as far as hockey arenas go, and it is absolutely perfect for what it is. There is a great pro shop with all kinds of authentic USA Hockey gear at all ranges of prices, I'd also say that they provide ample restroom facilities, and a decent sized vending station (though, if I had to throw any shade on an otherwise top-notch spectator-friendly facility, I would have to admit that the standard arena fare served up is decent, but certainly uninspired--yet, I had no expectation of enjoying a top-notch burger once inside an amateur team arena, so all's good here). The sight lines throughout the arena are generally unobstructed (with the exception, perhaps, of the end glass behind the goaltenders where there seemed to be more than the usual number of puck marks that blurred some of the ability to get a clean photo of the on-ice action). But the atmosphere is great and it should be--basically a facility dedicated to cheering on our men and women suiting up in the red, white and blue. Go USA!
