This is really a 'private' social club that is a dive bar in Delray Detroit. If you're not familiar…read morewith that area, it's in Southwest Detroit over by Zug Island and practically under the Ambassador Bridge. The area has struggled which makes it all the more amazing that the CAC is still alive and kicking. I've been a few times with a group I bike ride with, one of our group is a member, which means we get in too. That doesn't mean you can't join or go visit and get a tour and a drink. Someone in the club / bar will be happy to be your sponsor so you too can be a member of this elite establishment. The drinks were cold and the food was good. Not a lot of beer options, again, this is more dive bar then craft bar, and that's ok, sometimes that's all you need. Once the Corona lockdown is over, they'll need some love to get going again for sure. Check their facebook page to see their hours and figure out when to visit and join.

We were introduced to it by friends, which is the common theme - like has been said here before, it's a private club that acts like a Dive Bar....or visa-versa. That being the case, they are fairly friendly with newcomers, so just think of it as paying a cover charge with lasting impact If you wonder what blue collar Detroit was all about in the 50's and 60's, the CAC is like entering a time machine of just that. That said, be warned - if you can't tolerate Miller High Life, Broken Polish mixed with expletives, and half-painted tin ceilings more covered in cigarette tar than paint, this might not be for you. If, however, you can and do love a classic blue collar corner bar and all that it entails - well, welcome friend to your new home away from home.

Very cool (ha) facility and good instruction. I came with a group who needed some filler people,…read morethey rented out all 5 lanes. I believe there is a $50 security deposit, then around $30 per head. Probably more information on their site or by calling but long story short that got us two hours total. Let me tell you, I'm a larger unfit man, and sweeping was physically exhausting. My heart was pounding out of my chest 30 minutes in, and I ended up having to switch out with someone else for more sweeps. This is something I caution you to take seriously if you are not in shape / well conditioned. Curling is physically exerting! I had a hard time learning to get down and slide the stone. That's part of the fun. That said they do have a pusher stick you can use. Being 6' 7" myself and having a lower back problem I used the pusher stick when it was my turn to slide the stone. Don't be shy about using it! Instead of putting one foot on a slider pad (you have gripper covers over your tennis shoes so you can walk the ice), getting down low and pushing off the stick attaches to the stone's handle. Then you just walk up to speed and give it a little shove. Word of working, most wont have this issue but I wear a 14 or 15 mens 4E (extra wide) shoe depending on the make. My default tennis shoes were too big for the grippers to fit over, I had to switch to my backup pair which are thankfully 14's and I was able to just barely able to stretch them over.

I took my guy here for his birthday. We had a lesson and then played with another group of people…read morefor about an hour and a half. The cost was $30 each and well worth it! The instructors were great- thorough and patient. This is such a unique place and curling is such a fascinating sport! Can't wait to go back!

The other women in the group don't mind changing with the men but I prefer not to, so I requested a separate room (women's changing room, referee room, etc). The woman at the counter, who was less than pleasant, said she "couldn't let" me use a ref room or any other locker room in any of their FOUR rinks. She offered me a place to change with no skate mats, in the furthest rink (1) from the one we were playing on (4). This is totally unacceptable in 2025! I play in many different arenas around Detroit and Toledo, several in much less affluent cities than Troy, and they all provide me with some place to change that can accommodate my skates and is not a public restroom.

There are many reasons to like this facility, namely the large locker rooms, quality ice surfaces, and the pro-shop located in the lobby. The pro-shop is a separate business, but they have all of your equipment needs and can do a good job on your skate sharpening and repairs. There is a snack shop and plenty of vending machines, but there is no bar or alcohol sales. This rink has the full compliment of learn-to-skate, open-skate, youth hockey at all levels and mens' league. I didn't rate this 5 stars because the building is outdated and is missing a few of the modern touches of a true multi-plex. It's still a great place to play, practice or watch hockey.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This is the absolute worst location in this company I've ever dealt with, and it's filled with horrible, disrespectful people. The staff can't get anything right, and they treat you like absolute garbage. The level of customer service here is appalling, and it's beyond me how this place is still in business after they treat s mixed family. When Linda Brooks ran the Troy location or Jason Bird managed it, things were a million times better. Now? A total disaster. Stevie, the so-called manager, is hands down the worst customer service "professional" I've ever encountered. She wouldn't even try to fix the issues at all, was like it is what it is,and her energy is totally I hate being here attitude. I've been a loyal customer since the Minneapolis location opened, even worked at the Troy location when it first launched, and have visited the Las Vegas location multiple times when in town. But this? This is a new low. I walked in today, thinking I had a family membership, and was greeted by Anna, who clearly had no clue what she was doing. She looked overwhelmed and like she couldn't care less. It's FATHER'S DAY, for crying out loud, and I was told I wasn't allowed entry unless I paid an additional $60 for my wife and son. We had just driven 54 minutes to get here, and now I'm being charged for MY OWN MEMBERSHIP and family. How is that even a thing?! What happens to caring about the customers. But that's not even the worst of it. The dry heat sauna was broken last week, then the power went out, then they closed for another outage the week before that. And now, after all that, they're charging me another $60? For what? Because of their incompetence and caring about the customers. Stevie was rude from the jump, disrespectful, and had the worst dry attitude imaginable, treating me like I was some inconvenience to her. After that, she just sat in the back office, not doing a single thing to help. Not once did anyone offer a solution or show any sense of care or respect for my situation. Honestly, it was like I was invisible. At this point, I'm seriously considering canceling my membership because this company clearly doesn't care about its members or guests which you can see with the 3 star reviews. Without us, you have no business, no revenue, and no reason to exist. So why on earth would you treat your paying customers like this? The lack of respect is beyond infuriating. If I could rate this place NEGATIVE INFINITY, I would. And you better believe I'm going to put this all over my social media. I have millions + of followers, and I will make sure everyone knows how NOT to treat their customers. I'm done. DO NOT RECOMMEND--I'm about to cancel my membership, and I suggest you do the same if you value your time, money, or dignity. I'm so mad left a voicemail for lawyer !! Racism and Discrimination is some something real and very bad here. #HorribleService #WorstExperience #CustomerNoService #Unbelievable #CancelingMyMembership #NeverComingBack
