Great day at the Waterpark. I give this place a three and a half. It has seen better days. The…read morebathrooms were disgusting and the toilets didn't work. Most of them had no toilet paper. They also tore down the family slide over the winter. That was our favorite ride! Loved it! It was getting too old and too expensive to maintain. On the bright side. I like the tropical palm tree theming of the wave pool. They had plenty of tubes and we had a blast splashing around. The dump bucket area is still there, and the kids get a thrill counting down to the next dump of water. Today they had a zip line, and it was not extra. It was included in the price of entry. During the week it is $8 for all which is a great deal. During the weekend they offer a discount to Oakland county residents. The zip line was amazing fun, perfect for small kids through adults. The food looks and smells enticing like an amusement park. The pricing is very good. You can also bring in your own food, but no glass or alcohol. People often bring in fast food, or food to bbq. They have grills. I come here at least once a summer. I hope they will be able to build a new attraction. The slide was a great loss. They also seem to be having staffing issues. During the month of June they were only opened until 3:00. They seemed to have resolved that issue. We look forward to coming back.

It appeared as though they still had to thaw/warm up their ingredients? A customer asked for a hot dog and was told the buns had to thaw. The customer said "Okay, just give me the hot dog without the bun then." For no table inside, the wait time is also horrifying. I waited for around 30 minutes for essentially expensive cold food. I ordered bosco sticks but the cheese wasn't even melted. 2 sad blocks of cheese for $5. I think the shack would benefit from keeping orders away from the customers. It is a pain watching somebody stare at all the orders in front of them and then to not see food until 10 minutes after. I almost began to wonder if my order was on the counter at all after waiting so long, maybe they accidentally threw it away...? Luckily I received my food, of course. I do feel bad for the staff. Numerous customers leaned against the counter and kept giving their two cents. I was frustrated too, but it's ill-mannered to take it out on the staff. Besides the concession stand, which is the smallest part of the part, respecting most people go to pools to swim rather than eat, the rest of the waterpark is lovely!

Great place to take the children on a warm summer day and the staff is always young but super friendly and helpful. They also have lockers if you need to lock your things up while you swim with no worries.

This place was fantastic!…read more The tip I got and would pass on is to purchase your tickets online. The longest wait was to get into the parking lot, despite signs saying they were at capacity with the exception of online tickets. Everything was magnificent! They have lifejackets available. Bring your own chairs if you want a place to put your stuff and all the lawn chairs are taken. They have tubes to use for the wave pool and lazy River. Outside food is not allowed but I would recommend finding a way to bring it in because I would have purchased meals for my family at the concession stand but there were long lines all day and once it finally died down I realized why... they ran out of all the food-food (they still had bags of chips). If you're not going to allow outside food, you need to be able to accommodate guests! Yes, they allow you to leave and come back same-day but do I really want to get in my hot car where my skin sticks to the seats, while wearing a wet bathing suit just to find the closest fast food? No, not really. I would rather pack sandwiches and leave in the car or whatever. Plenty of people brought grills to set up outside the gates, so I would consider that in the future. There are so many awesome things about this place, that I look forward to returning next year!

Very easy to book online and be sure to get a rewards sign up. We did a package that included pizza and pop, a chicken dinner at Zehnders, and a breakfast buffet for both mornings. The hotel is easy to spot next to Bronner's. The theme of gnomes and fairies is so adorable. Staff are awesome! They were so sweet to my daughter and us. Whether it was our waitress, lifeguards at the waterpark, or the front desk. We were able to check in early, so be sure to ask! Our room was one of the older rooms and was one of the ADA compliant rooms, which has larger doorways, no bathtub, a queen bed, and a seating area with a fireplace. The room decorations and everything in it are original. It's very desperately needs to get a facelift. The room was right off of the front desk in waterpark, so walking to the action only took a few steps. I noticed there is no recycling bin. There was a mini refrigerator, but the temperature control wasn't the greatest. Carpet was buckling. The seating area did have a pullout couch, but the couch itself was slippery with the fabric and pretty uncomfortable. Not sure how well house keeping was. There was a Nerf gun instructions paperwork behind one of our bedside nightstands. The water pressure was awesome. The bedding felt clean and the bed overall was comfortable. Housekeeping was able to give us a few more towels off their cleaning cart, which was nice. There is an arcade, but it's definitely not as big as the other hotel down the street. It's very crammed into one room. The pizza and cheese bread was absolutely delicious. Was not expecting that for a kid themed hotel. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, but the buffet items don't change. So the second day we were already kind of sick of the options. They do a nightly movie night in the lobby at 8 PM. If our daughter was older, we definitely would've snuggled up in the lobby to watch the movie. The waterpark was our favorite. Our daughter is just over two, and I was so surprised at how many things she was able to do. She even got to go on a waterslide with us, holding her to go down. Also, she was able to go down a waterslide all by herself, so she thought she was super cool! At the hotel down the street, there's barely anything for a two-year-old to do at their waterpark. She absolutely loved being able to wade in the water with the toddler pool going up to 2 feet. She also was brave enough to go under the big bucket that splashes. We stayed two nights and I think we went to the waterpark at least four or five times and she never got sick of it. There is a security checkpoint for the waterpark. Security will put UV light on your wristband to make sure it's not a fake also go through any bags that you're bringing into the waterpark. Do not bring towel towels, the waterpark provides towels for you. Additionally, they provide lifejackets. There are plenty of tables and chairs all along both water parks, the old side and the new side. The new side wasn't as toddler friendly. There was a small slide she could go down, otherwise there really wasn't much else for her to do. We had a great stay and I think with them updating all of the hotel rooms, I think Zehnder's is the place to be!

But recently in the last few years, we have noticed a shift (some things they may not directly have control over). But this past weekend was bad and we felt it was time to update our review to reflect what is happening now. From the second you walk into their lobby, throughout the hallways, seeping into the rooms, and even penetrating the waterpark areas, all you can smell is that legalized recreational product (I'm sure you can guess what I'm talking about). It's disgusting, lingering scent persisting everywhere. It clings onto your clothing, suitcase, EVERYTHING. And if you get a room that was previously occupied by guests who partake in that, it reeks of it for your whole stay! Adding to this, you can continuously find bandaids, hair and hair extensions floating in the water and lying around on the ground. Many children/teens are running wild (being very disrespectful) with no adult in sight. This place has lost its charm for us and it truly is sad. This was a vacation we looked forward to annually with our children and have created so many beautiful memories but sadly, it no longer does and then to add the price continuously increasing (which we knew would happen). If the smell of recreational products, filthy areas, and disrespectful guests is your vibe, then this is the place for you. What once used to be our favorite has sadly shifted over the last few years.

The Whoa Zone is perfect for every age. They have 3 distinct areas, one for toddlers, and two for tweens/teens to adults. While you wait for your jump time, you can visit the playground nearby or play in the water. One thing that you should know in advance...you will pay for an hour and jump for 50 mins. Five minutes of the extra 10 mins is used for a safety training. I am sure it explained all of that on the website when I bought the jump times, but I was taken by surprise when I got there. Again, could have been my mistake, just thought I would point it out. With all that said, 50 mins was plenty for my kiddo. If you have younger or more timid kiddos, I suggest reserving an early jump time since they are less popular and will give them plenty of space to get comfortable. The jump times after lunch are pretty packed. Overall, he had a great time and the lifeguards are very alert and aware. The cost is not crazy in comparison to other kids entertainment. We paid full price for a jump slot and if you purchase another slot later, like after lunch. It is half price. Two slots is plenty. We will be back next summer!

I found this very rude because we payed a lot of money for this and that is not okay that it went to waste. We were all trying to have fun but then just randomly got kicked out. She was a woman with glasses, and although I didn't catch her name, she was incredibly kind, accommodating, and professional. Her customer service was the only reason I'm giving this resort 1 star instead of none. While the water park itself was decent and the kids had fun, it was clear that the facility is struggling. The large overhead bucket wasn't operating automatically and staff had to manually dump it. Beyond the water park and arcade, there were no other attractions or activities available. The biggest issue was the condition of the property. Our room was dusty, had spider webs throughout, and even contained dead spiders. The refrigerator barely worked and never got cold. Lighting was poor, with one of the lamps in our room not functioning. We were also provided with very few towels. The property itself felt abandoned. The grass around the resort was overgrown, the parking lot was mostly empty, the lobby was uncomfortably hot, and the hallways and carpeting leading to the rooms were noticeably dirty. Food options were extremely limited. The snack shack only offered pizza and closed around 6:00-6:30 PM, despite the water park remaining open until 9:00 PM. The gift shop also closed at 6:00 PM. The arcade was disappointing as well because game cards could not be reloaded. Staff experiences were mixed. While the front desk clerk was exceptional, we witnessed a male employee arguing back and forth with guests over water park towels instead of helping resolve the situation professionally. Overall, Splash Universe has potential, but the lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, limited amenities, early closures, and inconsistent customer service made this a disappointing experience. Water Park Review:…read more This was by far the most disgusting water park I have ever been to, and frankly it was a death trap. my children (3 and 5), my sister and I took them for the day on January 2nd after they had been marked as closed for two days. The opening employee, sorry I forgot their name, was very nice. But immeditely you go into the bathroom to use it before playing in water and dear god, if my kids could understand we would have left immediately even AFTER dropping $50 per person. The ground was littered with dirty towels, toilet paper rolls, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, and who know what else. Out of the five toilets available, 4 of them were back up and many had stains I couldn't identify. After that the biggest concern and major issue is that there was a single lifeguard for the entire area. The young man stayed in his chair on his phone by the door for almost the entire time. The exception was when he had a spray bottle and walked into the WOMEN'S CHANGING ROOM. NO KNOCK, NO SIGN, NOTHING!!! And guess what, when we went to rinse and leave later, nothing was cleaned after his little "visit". The white grates that allows water to drain break if you step on them and my daughter almost fell through. There was no staff at the top or bottom of the slides including the huge tube slide. The slide in which my son and I fell off, hit our heads on the way out. I was able to hold him up and keep him safe, but what if I had gotten hurt worse!? How was there nobody at the bottom?! DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!

One of the posts said that this is because of the amount of geese that have been frequenting the lake this year or because of runoff from rain. We went once before we knew about the e coli issues and actually had a great time. The beach (we thought) appeared clean and the water was the perfect cool temperature on a hot summer day. The swimming area went deep enough that we could float away from the littles on the shoreline. There were two life guards on duty. They have really amazing facilities where a get together was being held under the pavilion. They have a snack station, but we brought our own chips and sodas. They also have a splash pad with water slides. This area was closed when we went, and you have to pay a little more to access this area. They also have some cool trails and a frisbee golf course. You can bring dogs, but not to the designated swimming area. I hope they figure out the e coli issues because we would love to go back.
