I can't afford to shop there regularly, but their bi-annual sales are legendary. Everything eventually comes down to 75% off. The staff are friendly and cheerful and very classy for this sleepy town (but I'm biased- some of them are Wake students). I should also mention the location- a shocking pink former gas station on the strip of Reynolda Road inhabited by Pink Mink, Fabians, 1703 and the Krankie's silver bullet. A must-stop for anyone driving back to the West End or Downtown from campus on a Friday afternoon. After you've finished sipping your iced coffee and blown your money on the summer sale, drive a bit further down Reynolda towards the west end and reward your exertion with a gelato from Cafe Gelato.

We were greeted immediately by the owner, Martha , who was as friendly and nice as anybody we have ever encountered. The three of us got into a conversation that lasted for most of an hour. Martha was so friendly, cordial, interesting and anxious to learn more about us as strangers and consequently we were enamored over her background as well. Our conversation centered on our backgrounds and respective families and frankly became a highlight of our day and time in Mount Airy. She was such an interesting individual who obviously loves what she does professionally.
