I've been going to Corey for years, traveling miles and taking flights to get to him. Although, I have hundreds of photos of him doing my hair over the years I'm posting some of the most recent ones. Corey as a stylist truly takes pride in his craft. It's displayed through his continued education, his willingness to educate others and the consistent focus on quality. As a business owner he is always looking to advance his brand while having his clients at the forefront. I've witnessed him provide his staff real time feedback and insight in between managing his own book. I've watched him support his team to enhance their craft and sharing his social media platform etc for additional exposure, in hopes of them growing their brand too. i walked into Corey Paul Salon after making an appointment last summer, my appointment was for a consult with the man himself, Corey. I was working out and sweating in my head a lot, he talked me through a variety of options, and I chose to go with micro-locs. now mind you, I had about 1-2.5 inches of hair on my head. He introduced me to Kyla, made an appointment for late September 2023, I haven't looked back since! I have never had a disappointing service visit, from the welcome, to the friendly conversations with other stylists, to overhearing lots of encouragement shared amongst stylists (honestly cannot recall overhearing any negativity), professional always. Kyla has done wonders for my hair and I look forward to the continued support for my hair journey with her. 10/10 for Corey and Kyla. read more

If I want my hair done, this is the hair shop I go to. I've only been here a few times because the one who does my hair started working here. Melyssa does a GREAT job. She's an amazing stylist who knows exactly what she is doing. She does it ALL! I've gotten feed-ins done by her a few times and I've gotten a blow out. I just got feed-ins today and I LOVE them. She's also real and will tell you the truth! She won't just tell you to buy this and that, she's will let you know the real! As far as the studio, since we're in the middle of a pandemic, they check your temperature and also require mask. You also need to fill out a little questionnaire as a safety measure. I found this salon via TikTok and it was everything. The salon was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I booked an 8a appointment with Cameron. He was veery polite, professional, and attentive. As this was my first visit to the salon, Cameron asked about my hair history and what I was looking for. The shampoo wash as so relaxing. I could feel that my hair was thoroughly being cleaned. I opted for finger waves so my appointment concluded around 9:45a. I was shocked to be done so quick (I'm use to being in a salon for a few hrs). Uncomfortable sliding shampoo chairs aside, this salon was a breath of fresh air when compared to the awful experiences I've had in recent months (Mike Todd Serenity Salon, Supercuts on Silas Creek, both of which I've reviewed right here on Yelp!). Rachel is a very, very sweet lady and did a kick-ass touch-up on my hair. I've decided to schedule all my future appointments with her (starting next month). More than that, the pricing is much more affordable than any of the other color services I've paid for at other places in the area. The place has a nice look to it too, and is conveniently located down the road from the mall (just ten minutes away from my home!). This salon is incredibly versatile, and services are available here for ethnic hair. Would definitely recommend to all my friends. read more

I'd been checking our Corey for over a year on Instagram. I rarely change my hair and only go to the salon for Relaxer, Treatment, Trim every 12+ weeks. But recently I needed a change and finally decided to make the jump! I called and made my appointment and he was very friendly on the phone. He invited me to their Christmas party as well which unfortunately I was out of town for but I would have loved to go. The Salon is in the Chuckie Cheese shopping center by Hanes Mall. I walked in and I was greeted immediately. He said he'd be with me shortly and it wasn't a long wait at all, I was already impressed. A lot of salons over book and have you waiting for an hour sometimes! When I sat in his chair we started discussing the color I wanted, but I wasn't even sure what I wanted myself. I was SUPER nervous! I'm sensitive about my hair! So eventually he says to me "So it sounds like you want change but not something too out there". I said "EXACTLY!" and he explained how he interpreted what I wanted and it was right on point. He also said don't worry, if you don't like it, we can put you back in your hair color, you'll be ok. I immediately felt more relaxed. He then explained every step of the process.... which i'll admit I forgot as soon as he finished talking lol. I just wanted him to do his thang! Throughout my visit he made me feel really comfortable. He engaged everyone in conversation and even joked with you. He was really humble and personable. I really enjoyed being in the Salon. When he finished I was grinning because I loved it. This is the only major change i've made to my hair that I haven't BOO HOO'D about right after (I know, it's a bit dramatic lol). I went from Dark Brown hair to a Copper Color which I LOVE! I will definitely be returning to Corey and I most definitely recommend him!! read more

I'm was visiting the area and needed a hair trim. Corey and his staff were very professional and easy to work with!

So I always hear the horror stories about going to the salon and the stylist gets too scissor happy. Well, that happened to me on Saturday. I think Saturday was the maddest I have EVER been. I don't mind stylish short cuts but the service I received Saturday was just horrible. To top it off she didn't put enough highlights in my hair or the the right color and she cut about 2-3 inches of hair that wasn't dead and charged $100. I shouldn't have to come home and restyle my hair. I've always heard great things about the salon. The salon is closed on Sundays and Monday's. I ended talking to the owner and the stylist on Tuesday. The stylist that did do my hair refused to reimburse me anything for my hair. They owner said he would do my hair over for free because he did see the imperfections. To top it all off I had to go spend hundreds more money to get extensions and have them put in that Sunday. Can you say livid. I will say this DO NOT go to TERRA at Corey Paul's studio in Winston-Salem. Go to anyone BUT her. read more
