We just moved to this area and after spending a day unpacking, neither of us felt like cooking. A friend recommended Mick's sandwiches, so we thought we'd give them a try. One word - YUM! I ordered a turkey sub and hubby ordered Italian mixed. The bread is very fresh and the cold cuts were piled high. Employees are very friendly and service was quick. This is such a convenient store to have in the area. We found we were out of coffee filters and yup, the store had some. They have a great selection of all kinds of items... The Food is always delicious! They kill it back there in the deli! Never fails and always fresh

A nice, little, back-country deli. The owner is always very nice and smiling. The tall gentleman who sometimes works the register is often on the phone talking very loudly haha but that's hardly an issue. The people who work the deli have a great memory and always know my order before I even ask them. It's small and it's a very old building but it's rather charming in a way. Selection of groceries is fine but this is primarily a deli with a few odds and ends as far as groceries. Their cooler drink selection is pretty decent too! Many craft beers are available too now that I think about it but I'm not really into craft beer as much. The deli has gone way down hill we ordered breakfast sandwiches and bagel with cream cheese. Lousy breakfast all the way around. You would think that they would do a better job since Dollar General moved right down the street. I will not be surprised if DG puts Mick's out of business with poor quality breakfast like this. It is with deep regret that I need to inform you that Mick's Deli is serving sandwich's and other food that may be dangerous to you and your family IMO. I strongly suggest that you avoid this store deli at all costs. Here is the reason I have come to this conclusion so you can be the judge. Last week Bob went to Mick's to buy some sandwich's at their deli. When it was realized that while they wore gloves they did not wear masks. Why is this so very important? Because individuals can be asymptomatic and still transmit Covid-19. That means that they can very well be transmitting droplets to your food during preparation and never realize it. So I called the Mick's to ask them to wear masks to protect themselves and all the people they serve. I did not realize where this simple request would go. On the first call that connects to the deli I asked a girl if they would wear masks and she hung up on me. Now I have been a customer of Mick's for many many years and I did not expect to receive this disrespect. Yes, I was upset, but not because of the hang-up but because of the danger these actions take to many of my dear friends and our entire community. So I called the Mount Hope Police and asked them to talk to them. The officer I talked to was very polite and said I was right to call them and he would see what he could do. BTW, we have a wonderful police department. However, nothing changed and they still did not wear masks at the deli. Then I called Orange County Department of Health and talked to the Nurse in Charge. She told me that they must take their orders from the New York State Dept. of Health and there were no requirements for food personal to wear masks at this time. She did tell me that she personally would not use that deli. Ok, I called the the State Department of Health. I talked to the Office of Infectious Disease. Very good conversation. I was told that there are no current guidelines to require food service personal to wear masks, they are working on such guidelines. However, "They strongly suggest that all food service workers wear masks at this time" She too stated she would not patronize this deli. So, at this point Mick's is still serving food to our community without mask protection. So I sent messages to the owner Ali and tried to explain the immediate importance to just have your employees wear masks for all our safety. I gave him my telephone number and asked him to call me so we could talk this over. I told him a number of times I did not want to harm his store, but just needed to talk about this. The response I received was no response. On Facebook you can see that he read these messages but would not respond. So I personally was very torn on what to do. While not wanting to hurt any store in our small community, I feel that I cannot remain silent and have the possibility of some or maybe more become infected by the lack of concern for us all by a few individuals. That is why I have written this letter and am asking all that are concerned about our community pass this warning along to everyone you know. A little about my background in relation to this situation. I was a Paramedic in Middletown for many years. For over 18 years I served with the West Point Fire Department. I was the founder of the Paramedics in this Fire Department and coordinated EMS for the United States Military Academy. What is happening in our town is dangerous. Mount Hope is a wonderful place to live. In my 20 years of having the honor to be part of this community, I have countless times seen the pride of our town, the selfless giving of others in need and most of all the spirit of belonging to a wonderful place to live and bring up a family. I thought that Mick's was part of that community feeling. However, their lack of concern and response to a very vital and urgent health emergency lead me to the unfortunate conclusion, they they have no concern for our health and our community. I do hope that they respond to this letter and explain their actions but I doubt they will break their silence. PLEASE PASS THIS LETTER ALONG TO OTHERS IN OUR TOWN. I have to agree I was in this store yesterday and no mask at the deli! Shocking during a pandemic in Ny. Also because I was wearing a mask I lost an earring! I called today because I spend hundreds of dollars there and politely asked the gentleman if someone turned it in when he asked a woman who rudely screamed we don't have time to look for her earring! Umm I didn't ask them to look I simply asked if it had been turned in! Then she got on the phone. Polite again I asked if someone turned it in and she replied if they do I'll call u back and hung up without taking my phone number! They just lost my business! read more

For subs and sandwiches, they are good. But, If you are looking for a few household groceries, they have approx 40% higher prices then a real supermarket and the Indian owners can be, how do I say it nicely, kinda jerky. Not a grocery store, local deli which serves its purpose as a local deli. You need cold cuts, beer, milk then mick's is just fine. Have never once encountered a rude employee, they accept credit cards, sandwiches are good, salads are good as well if you get them the day they are made. Wish the deli was open a bit later; few times I ran in to get cheese and the deli was already closed. They have seasonal beer always in stock which I love. read more

This place used to be the go to place in Otisville and it has slowly declined to what is now and overpriced and under-value location. Went in recently to find the deli closed at dinnertime (I have never seen this) and tried to order ground beef and was told it was $6 a pound! All their prices have gotten out of hand and the atmosphere has just gone to h*** read more
