I waited a while before writing this review hoping for a miracle but I don't see one bit of improvement to my eyebrows. It was a waste of time and money. I am experienced Permanent Make-up Tech and have taken trainings throughout the years, although this is not my main career. I wanted to learn Microblading and considered traveling out of the Bay for classes. I started following Vanessa with Studio V about a year ago and after seeing all of her beautiful eyebrow posts I decided to take her class. From the moment I met her, it was clear that she was very passionate about her chosen career path and, in general, all things that she believes in. Her classes were very informative and useful. I thought the info Vanessa shared was valuable, especially for beginners. Most classes teach only the basics and have you study the book they provide. They want you to take additional classes for additional knowledge, which is understandable to a certain extent. However, Vanessa was very forthcoming and honest about her experiences and knowledge. She did not hold back on things she learned, including unsuccessful opportunities and shared everything she felt was relevant. As you can imagine, I had a lot of questions and she was able to answer everyone of them. I appreciated that her response was open and honest. She always followed up with, this was my experience, you may have a different one. Or, she would offer different techniques and say this is how I do it, but you may find that the other ways works better for you. The class was very motivational in many aspects. Her kits were filled with adorable surprises. She shared her honest opinions on products, best prices and best vendors. You could tell the girl does a lot of research on products she uses! She wasn't trying to up sell you or make additional commission on any specialty products. Everything provided in her kits was based on tried and tested real life usage. It was clear that Vanessa put a ton of effort into creating a course that would help students survive and succeed in the beginning of their new careers. The overall experience was awesome and I took an additional machine class with her a few weeks later. The beauty industry can be cutthroat at times and hard to get started. For years I have filled in sparse and uneven brows every single morning. The struggle of making them even in the morning, sweating them off during workouts and worrying if they were smudged off after a wrestling match with my kids was constant. I decided to look into microblading. I reached out to a couple people in the Walnut Creek Area first thinking I wouldn't find anything close to my home (in Antioch). I did not even get a response from the first two I left messages for. I decided to use Yelp and see if there was a business close to me. I found Studio V and was glad to see the location was in Brentwood. I was impressed by the before and afters and decided to book a consult. I immediately felt comfortable with Vanessa. She has warm personality and was easy to talk to. I explained the look I was going for; I wanted fuller brows that looked natural. I wanted to fill in areas that were sparse and have a manicured brow. I felt comfortable with her approach and booked my appointment. When the day came to get my brows done I was very happy that Vanessa spent a lot of time making sure my brows would be symmetrical and to my liking. I left there so happy with the shape and color of my brows. She sent me home with my care package and directions. My brows healed nicely over the next 7 weeks. I loved waking up to nice brows every morning. At my touch up appointment Vanessa added some extra strokes to fill in some areas that had faded during healing. I decided to go a little thicker in some areas during the touch up process. Let me just say that I absolutely love my brows! I am very happy with the way they look, natural and well shaped.
