Advertised: "If we can fix it in 1/2 hour or less it's only $39.00" and "Fastest turnaround in San Diego" Dropped off 1 pm on june 8. Guy at front said it should be done by end of day or tomorrow morning. June 9. 1216pm, I call. Man says I am next in line. It will be ready in 30 minutes. I arrive 135pm to pay. Lady says he will add it up then I can pay. Man comes out says it is $50 labor and $16 + tax for parts... totaling $67 something. Do I want to get it fixed? It will be ready in 1 hour. I said, what happen to "really quick to fix" and $39 if can be done within 1/2 hour as claimed by guy the day before, your website, and previous customers' testimonies online? He restated $50 for labor for iPods and $16 for parts. I look for in store signs to back this up and find nothing. I said let me call husband and stepped outside. I come back a minute later. Man not there and lady was in front desk. I nicely said no to repair. She relays to him at the back that I will not be getting it done and rips papers up. She tells me that he will be putting it back together/closing it up and will be out in a moment. I saw her drive off as I went to wait and sit in my car. NOTHING or ANYTHING on huge sign about iPods. I had to go back to car to get wallet. Didn't know I would be paying not written anywhere nor was I told at any point until I was ready to take the broken thing home that there was a $20 diagnostic fee if no go with repair. By the time I got to car, I was thinking..What kind of place is this?!!!! Eventually I was pissed but still had to keep my composure. I concluded that $20 loss was better than giving $67 to poor written and verbal pricing of services. I finally went in to pay the $20 as "credit" on my debit card, thinking I am so going to fight this with Mastercard for services not rendered, false advertising, and just bad business practice. Lady says I have 30 days to use that $20 towards getting iPod fixed. I said, no thank you and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Before I walked out the door, I asked about the $39 on their website. I asked why so-called customers online said they got the same issue done for $39. I asked why diagnose and open up after I said no to servicing it then charge $20. She said in the 6 years she has been there, it has never been $39 and she said that iPods have always been $50 minimum. She said that all items that passes the tech's desk is always charged the $39 minimum, fixed or not. I came to the conclusion of price due to their signs and 2 people saying that these were a 20 minute/real quick job. Why not at least verbally tell me otherwise? Why not post price of iPod minimum if it is or has ALWAYS been $50 minimum and why not state somewhere or say that the $39 excludes iPod even if it is done in less than 1/2 hour? Was i too wrong to assume $39? Lastly, I also told her that I did not appreciate being told that it would be done at 3 different times and I get there way past when someone said it was to be done and it is still not done. She says that they cannot start until I know how much it will cost. Then why tell me it was to be done and ready for pick up? And if that is so, why did tech open it up to start on it without my approval of repair and quoted price and then charge me $20 because he ran it across his desk, opened it up only to find out what was wrong was what i said the day before: THE EAR JACK DOES NOT WORK. They got that 411 from me without opening it up or crossing it at a tech's desk. So why the 2 stars? When I got home to make sure that all my music and books were in there and to see if the earjack was worse than before, I come to find that the ear jack worked. So as of now, I will not be calling my bank/Mastercard for the $20. I suppose the tech opening and closing the iPod unintentionally fixed the semi-loose earphone jack. I am still holding on to Saturday's appointment at other repair place as it might come loose again by then. The whole ordeal was TERRIBLE. Could it have been better? Definitely! The day we all dread - when your computer stops working. Nooooooooo! My situation was one of those where I knew it was seriously f*cked, but I was hoping someone could save my files because I hadn't back anything up in over a year. I did a pretty thorough Google search for computer repair near Oceanside, called around and chose Micromobile. They are listed with the BBB and I found a couple of positive reviews on other sites. Plus the price was right. So I left my precious machine in their hands, and for $39 they did a diagnostics. They figured out what happened, and called to say that it probably wasn't worth it to get it fixed, and I would be better off replacing it. As much as it sucked to hear that, I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to say they could fix it, and $1000 later say its fixed only for it to do it all over again! So for another $130 they pulled what they could off my hard drive - it wasn't much, but it was better than nothing! And in less than a week, I had my tower back, with the hard drive separate. They were very free with advice, friendly and punctual. I hope I never have to use their services again, but I will if I do! read more

I have been a fan of this place for years. They come out and give realistic field advice and diagnostics. They have the ability to pull together projects. My requests have been simple software issues to complex security camera video card install. They have helped with older machines and even worked on hopeless cases. Customizing a computer with windows 7 and windows Vista on it --good job. Down grading a windows 10 or 8 computer to windows 7. Other more complex questions that were handled gracefully. Set up wireless networks in the house that work flawlessly. Every now and again they slip on the ice. Overall, I have had good experiences with them in the past 12 years. Parking at the place in Escondido is easy. Open Saturday which is very helpful. They come out to your house to work on computer issues and will even work past 5pm if the problem needs more time. Sees Candy outlet across the street which is a computer geek's dream. Bring your tired, broken machines in and see if they can be repaired then go across the street and buy your significant other some candy and sample some yourself. Try it you'll like it!! read more

I have used Micromobile for several years. One of their employees, Frank is great and knows what he is doing. However, there is a young man and young woman who answer the phone who have no idea what customer is or should be! On Monday, I left two messages early in the morning. No return phone call. When I called back a third time, I asked for Frank. He told me that Frank was not in. I asked why no one returned my phone call and he really had no answer. He did not ask what needed to be fixed and basically just wanted to get off the phone. Frank did call me the next day and I shared what had happened. The owner is the kindest person. He told me everything that they did to fix my computer. They had it done the next day. When I went in to get it, I had a lot of questions that I wanted to ask and Dennis, the owner, took time to answer every one of them (sometimes he had to answer the same one twice because I forgot what he said). Everyone on the staff was so nice and helpful. I never felt rushed or that I was bothering them. Micromobile was easy to find. It's was right on the corner of Valley Parkway and Cedar, just like Kylie, the receptionist, told me. They were easy to talk to, efficient and reliable, and full of information for me. I'll never take my precious computer any place else. It runs better than it ever did before I got that virus. Had Micromobile come out due to Windows 10 problems. One computer would not load mail the other would not wake up. Support tech spent reset both computer to reload back to Windows 7. Said both computers would come back up normal within a short time and left. Both computers never came back up (4 hours later). Called and talked to a different tech said I could bring both computers in and he would check them for $79 an hour. I already paid $119 for nothing. Asked if he could have the first tech call me back, was told he could not get through to the first tech. I ended up calling there competitor. They not only walked me through the needed corrections on both computers to restore them 100 percent but did not charge me (Their techs are Microsoft Certified) . I would NOT recommend Micromobile for anything related to Windows software problems as this seems to be above their expertise. read more

After they spent time making the right diagnosis, they told me that my motherboard needed replacing. Cort recommended I replace the computer, rather than spend $ on the dead one. I bought a refurbished computer with XP on it, so I can run all my older software programs. Cort recovered my data and placed it onto the new, refurbished computer. It was worth every penny to me, to be able to make and informed decision, based on an accurate diagnosis, and also have my data back, as well. They have a positive attitude at Micro Mobile. Nathan was great when I had him on the phone but I've sent emails and left voice messages that have gone unreturned while my computer sat unusable. Better Late than never. My mother, Linda, dropped my Dell Inspiron Laptop off on 10/6/15 at 1034 am. I had my mother call me while she dropped it off so I could explain to the rep what the issue was. I explained to the rep that the power would not come on. The representative, (which was an older gentleman), said to let them dry it out and see if it was something spilled on it. He said it should only take a few hours. I also asked him if my laptop is safe with them. I asked considering they didn't give my mom a ticket or anything showing they are holding it.. The gentlemen mentioned a big company that they service all their computers for which satisfied me. The company starts with an "S". After reviewing there website I felt comfortable.I have a print out of their promise and the way they work with the community. I called the rep back at 334 pm the same day. He said that the laptop motherboard was damaged. He asked if the laptop was still under warranty because it would be to expensive to replace the mother board. He said he would be able to save my hard drive. I asked the rep (which was the same older gentleman), if I could come by and get it in a few days after I spoke with my insurance company and Dell to see if they would be willing to replace the laptop. Dell said my warranty was already up. I also reached out to Direct TV since I have a warranty on all of my electronics. Direct Tv said to put in a support ticket and they would address the situation. A few days later we went to retrieve the laptop - they said they didn't have it. I went over in detail with them on the circumstances above. My life is in that laptop. He asked us for a support ticket which was NEVER issued to my mother. I have proof that they had my laptop. I thought I would give Angies list a chance to resolve this before I go to the police. I have all witnesses and phone call lists with proof of when I spoke with them. I built my business with that laptop. There is so much on there that isn't replaceable. I have went in there office, called and had my mother go up there multiple times. They are telling me they NEVER had the laptop. I paid a lot of money for my laptop, but more importantly my company and business, taxes, etc is on there. I only want my laptop back. read more

I used MicroMobile for a few years and had good service. When they moved out of their building I had some info transferred from one laptop to another, and also had had my desk computer info transferred from one computer to another. Nate came to my house and spent a lot of time getting them up and running. I was happy to finally have a connection with a friendly computer tech. All of a sudden he didn't return my calls, and my texts. I called the company and spoke to someone who was going to give Nate the message to contact me. He still never contacted me. I finally was able to talk to his dad, who is Dennis, the owner. Nate remotely helped me the next night. Still didn't complete the job, or return my texts. Also the old laptop that had the info transferred, won't even work now. It's wasn't like that when I took it to them. I have referred a lot of people to them in the past. Brought my home-built computer in a while ago to get it diagnosed for a an issue it was having. The gentleman said it was going to be done by the next day and that it was a free diagnostic. My computer ended up sitting there a whole week until they finally gave up and lied to me about how it had some viruses and that was the problem and that they erased half of them and now i owe them $40...we agreed to a free diagnostic and nothing more EVEN if it did have viruses and the DID erase "half" of them they did so with out my permission.I knew enough to know that that was bs and all the stuff they were trying to get me to buy was overpriced junk. i was going to tip the guy 30-40 dollars before any way just for the time even tho it was a waste because he couldn't figure any thing out...I just sucked it up and gave them the money so as not to make a scene. This review is a little late, but I had to buy an entire new laptop due to the incompetent service and what was done to my laptop. I rely on my laptop daily for both school and work and after being quoted $79.00 plus tax, I was told that my laptop would most likely be ready by that afternoon. After calling for the status, the receptionist barely spoke english and it seemed like she didnt even recognize what I was talking about. I was then told the owner would get on the phone and he informed me that not only did I have these numerous issues but that for $219.00 it would be back working normal and would take 3 days at the maximum. After two weeks and numerous phone calls that were rarely returned and when returned by someone who couldn't even answer the basic questions I was told my laptop was working perfectly. Less than 8 hours later, my entire system crashed and I had to shell out over $1200 on top of the almost $300 I gave to Micromobile. All they cared about was making money and not having a satisfied customer because when I called, I was told that I signed for my laptop and that was binding. No apology or attempt to make it right, I was told they have plenty of business and my laptop and or lack or business wouldn't hurt them.
