I write very few yelp reviews, but felt that based on the service and experience I had with Dempsey Alarms, it would be unjust not to write this review. I contacted Eric and he came out for a quote on upgrading my current non-working system. He was extremely polite and knowable. All the current (old) keypads were not working and several door and window contacts had to be replaced. Two techs came out (Kenneth and Gage) and installed new keypads and repaired all the non-working contacts. I cant say enough about their work and attitude. Very informative and professional. Kenneth went out of his way to make a few modification to our system that we requested. Not easy, but he didn't give up until he was able to make the system work exactly as we wanted. After a year of having a Dempsey Alarm system in place, I wanted to finally provide an update. After reviewing 4 alarm companies, and having a full interviews with 3, I chose Dempsey Alarm. Over the past year, I've had an alarm go off while I was away and police respond (extremely quickly i might add), I have had many multiple oops situation with kids and hitting the wrong button & only a positive experience with the dispatchers, had a billing error that was immediately fixed with a single communication, and a battery go out in one sensor that was repaired for free within a couple days. I've never had a alarm system but required one with our new home insurance - between the ring cameras and the alarm system they installed, I've never felt concerned about the safety of my family once. read more

He was honest, punctual, his suggestions saved me money; furthermore he was very patient and explained pros and cons of various panels and answered all my technical questions (being an engineer it was very important for me). Eric and his crew never tried to upsell me on anything, or aggressively pressure me to sign the contract with them, and were very respectful of my home. Since installation I called Dempsey Alarms with a couple small requests. Eric is always there and does his utmost best to ensure his customers are always taken care of. The system has worked without any issues and everything that was promised was delivered. Lastly I'd like to add that Dempsey Alarms NEVER requested for me to write this review. There are other security companies in San Diego which I cannot name here who have a suspiciously high amount of 5 star reviews. I recommend thoroughly reading through them to understand why that's the case. It's against Yelp's policy for businesses to solicit reviews, apparently that policy is not very well enforced for certain companies. I called Dempsey Alarms after I called out another company, they wanted to set cameras their way and told me I didn't need a monitor. When I called Eric out he understood exactly what I wanted and said no problem. Set a time and date which they showed up right on time (wearing mask) Daniel Ortiz & Matt Lostritto and went right to work. When they finished they cleaned up spotless. I called them back the same evening because I am a dinosaur and I could not get my well needed Netflex, Daniel showed up fixed the TV no problem. I told Daniel I needed a control for my monitor to lazy to get up lol. Three days later they showed up with my remote and a bigger monitor. I contacted Eric when our 8 year old ADT wireless alarm was having issues with the sensors and fault codes. He sent out Dustin promptly. Dustin arrived 10 minutes early and was very professional and cordial. He examined our problems and gave us a few options from minor repair to full system upgrade. We chose the minor repair and he told us we had a few window sensors that were placed upside down. He could've easily told us they were bad and sold us brand new sensors. He was honest and he fixed all our problems without any new parts. Our ADT system is just like new and working flawlessly. I have a very old alarm system that was here when we moved in 17 years ago. We called ADT and they proposed replacing it for a few thousand dollars. I then spoke to Eric at Dempsey who sent out his tech, Matt. Matt replaced our 4 non-functioning sensors in an hour. Total charge $195 ($120 of that for parts). The one problem that Matt couldn't fix was that the system has always been difficult to program when windows needed to be bypassed. Because it was so old it did not respond to the usual commands to simplify this. The next day Eric called, researched the problem, and solved it over the phone without an additional charge.
