Nice clean inexpensive and what's not to like. Thank you Microtel for NOT having the rooms smell like awful floral sprays or deodorized. Some people are allergic to those sprays. Recommend. read more

The GOOD: linens were clean, tv was big and had many channels to choose from. The toilet was high and looked newer. The bed was comfortable. The morning person ( man) in the office was very professional and quick when I checked out. The BAD: the room smelled like someone had just sprayed Lysol everywhere. The ceiling by the sink had dark brown spots on it. The shower was very old and dirty. It had a dead fly in it. The water pressure is non existent. Dust everywhere in the room. Basically, it just wasn't clean. The evening blonde girl was complaining about personal issues while I was tired and just trying to check in. I know it's just a RRI, but it's not one of the better ones.

I wanted to get up in the morning, have breakfast and then let them swim before we hit the road to finish the last leg of our trip. First, the woman working the night shift was completely devoid of personality. She barely spoke more than a few words. Not even telling me how much the room would be, she just shoved a bill and pen at me. Not a word said about check out time, breakfast, not a word. Get to the room and it had the oddest smell. Mildew mixed with something that I suspect was an attempt to cover the mildew smell. I won't walk on hotel floors without shoes on and encourage my kids to wear their sandals as well. So we didn't realize until the morning that the carpet was wet. The photo shows the door. As a woman traveling alone with 2 young kids, it made me really uncomfortable. The beds seemed clean. I checked for bedbugs because I was just so grossed out. It seemed fine, so I did my best to make the best of the situation since we were only there to get a few hours of rest. The tub and shower had not been cleaned in awhile, that much was clear. I also was not confident about the towels being clean. They weren't even folded, just thrown in a heap on the rack over the toilet in the bathroom, with one of them having black stuff on it. I went back down to ask for clean towels and wash rags so we could wash up at the sink, etc. and Miss Personality was extremely put out by my request. I kept everything up off the floor and on the desk or bedside table, which I do in all hotels, but we were especially strict in this one and even opted to leave much of our things locked up in the car. Their breakfast was a joke. So I told my girls that we would just go across the street to Starbucks. I stopped to ask when the pool would be opened, having noticed the gate was locked on our way to check out breakfast. They don't allow anyone in the pool until 10 a.m., with checkout being 11a.m. I suspect that's why the pool looks like the nicest thing about the hotel. It barely gets any use. In the end, I saved $40 staying at this cheap, nasty hotel vs the nice, CLEAN, Holiday Inn Express that we chose on the drive home. And there, my girls got to swim until 11p.m. and get right back in after a really nice breakfast and swim 2 hours before we needed to go back to our room and have time for all 3 of us to shower, pack back up and hit the road.

The price showing on their website showed $57 but we were charged $72 for some reason. The woman at the desk just said "we can't honor the website rate right now", but did not elicit the reason why. So after taxes we paid $87. The hotel is set up ok, and they have free continental breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am. The pool is very old but surprisingly clean for a hotel right off a main interstate, and they were probably at 3/4 capacity so no complaints there. The room is ok. Sheets were clean, and I didn't see any major mold like others stated. Fridge did not get very cold and freezer didn't freeze, but it worked. Microwave worked fine. Sink area of bathroom looked nice, and was well lit and clean and newer looking. Toilet seemed ok, but bathtub was hideous with cracks and mildew and a large brunette hair on the side of the tub. For the area and compared to other local hotels it was nominal. Would have been easier to swallow at $57 a night, but it was a safe place to stay and not alot of usual cheap hotel riffraff hanging around outside. Again, the pool area is a pretty tranquil and decently appointed place to chill after a long day of driving. Last at front desk was not exactly pleasant but she was very professional and efficient at her job. We visited Tuesday night September 3, 2019, and arrived about 8:30pm. If you can afford over $100 night, there are better options, but overall I can't complain. If the tub and carpets and bedspreads were updated they would get a 4 star at least for the comparisons in the area, but then the change in price from their quoted price to actual price made them a solid 3 at best. If you're on a budget and don't mind a few quirks and semi-primitive camp-type experience, this is your place. There are other better places for the same price less than 30 minutes south down in Perry, Ga that I will stay at next time.

What a wasted opportunity for this hotel to support other local businesses. When I went to my room and finally got the outside door to open I was met with a very unpleasant smell - the room smelled like mold or mildew. I started sneezing at that point and didn't stop until I got home. They advertised free wifi - I never could get connected even though I called down to the front desk for help, and no one else with our conference could as well. My bride booked it because it looked a little quirky online. I approached the whole affair with some caution. Lately, a few Marriott's hotels have developed the unfortunate habit of looking better on the internet than they do when you pull into the parking lot. I feared this might be another one of those adventures. I was wrong. The theme was Georgia peaches, and they carried that peach wagon all the way across the finish line. From the fresh peaches waiting when we arrived to the peach sangria offered at check-in, they never missed a note. It wasn't gimmicky. It was thoughtful. The place was spotless. The corridors were clean, the elevator corners were free of the dust bunnies that usually reveal a hotel's true character, and the room was cool, comfortable, and as clean as a grandmother's living room before company arrives. The peach-scented toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch, though they nearly had to compete with the professionalism of the staff. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there--something that cannot be manufactured by a corporate training video. And then there was happy hour. My favorite hour. The rooftop bar was excellent, offering good drinks, good views, and a fine place to sit for a spell and watch the day wind down. When we left, I found myself doing something I don't often do with hotels these days: planning a return trip. I'd most definitely stay here again. Sometimes a place promises an experience. This one delivered it, peach by peach.

We also had brunch at Loom, and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and Lucas at the bar crafted cocktails like a true professional--balanced, intentional, and memorable. Our server, Jay, was equally impressive. His demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made the experience even better. He's the kind of person you remember after you leave.

And this was a night I'll never forget. Pio Hotel offered many evening festivities like a complimentary rager to be thrown in the lobby and unrestricted pong that'll get your heart racing like you just sent a sext to your mom. As I entered the lobby I found myself hitting a Geeb and a grinding on 3 girls all at the same time. DJ Tiger had Mo Bamba on repeat as girls danced on the mobile bar. They say liquor before beer you're in the clear well I said fuck that and did 67 body shots, 54 boob luges, 44 butt luges, and 69 funnels of Jose Cuervo.
