The property was well appointed and our room named The Vineyard Suite featured the most comfortable bed and sitting area with a spa style bathroom with large walk in shower and claw foot soaking tub. We took advantage of the home cooked Filet Mignon dinner which allowed us to get to know the property and the owners. The meal was delicious and with the homes great room area with soaring windows allowing you to take in the natural surroundings it was perfect! The covered lanai was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watching the humming birds fly around their feeders. Breakfast was another wonderful experience chef style creations and delicious coffees. I highly recommend the bourbon infused one. A short walk across the lawn takes you to their winery, Carin Winery with a comfortable feel, large wrap around porch, large air conditioned space with tables and bar and a great selection of wine, beer and snacks. They even have rooms above the winery space, too. This would make a great place for a family reunion or couples get away. The two weeping willow trees on the property are not only an ideal backdrop but inspire one of their wines also. The location while secluded but is convenient to Ellijay, Amicalola State Park, neighboring wineries, waterfalls and adventures. We'll be back!

Don't forget to take advantage of the Carin winery next door, and I hear (we missed out) the lodge offers an add on steak dinner (plan in advance) that sounds divine, and in that environment, will be on our list for our next visit! The lodge itself is well-appointed with a beautiful seating/gathering/eating area downstairs. Breakfast was great with a menu of French toast and apple bake, sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice and some of the best flavored coffee I've had in a LONG time (bourbon infused pecan). The bed in the master room is over 10 years old and you can tell it!!! All water sources, sinks bath, shower, toilets smell like rotten eggs! The rental management company just took it over so hopefully things will get updated soon. To add to the problems, the air conditioner in the mater bedroom didn't work. I complained to rental company last night and spoke with the office manager this morning. She was very apologetic and made the appropriate compensation offer after speaking with the owner.

Then while having a room inspected for my deposit back the owner yelled at my two-year-old for touching his pen. Never ever well I stay here ever again I'll Derek and talk to my son that way and how dare them and give me a room that smells like hookers.
