All of a sudden, all I could hear was the lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Wendy, YELLING AT HER to get up and do her job, and the young girl looked so confused as to why Wendy was yelling at her, and instead of Wendy asking if the young girl was okay, she fully YELLED AT HER AGAIN and said, "GET UP AND GO DO LAUNDRY. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING." Honestly, Wendy yelling at that young girl was wrong and out of line. You could clearly see something was wrong with the girl. I feel like if I were the manager or even the owner of that hotel, I would definitely not be happy with my employee yelling at another employee. Even if you are a manager or supervisor, it's not okay to yell at your employee like that. My family and I will not be going back. I hope that young girl is okay, and I hope Wendy doesn't do this to anyone else there. I'm sure that if Wendy did it to her, she does it to all of the employees there.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. My fiancé' and I stayed here with his son on the evening of 6/22/24. We…read morecame into town for a family reunion and pretty much everything in town was either booked or didn't accept dogs. (We brought my very well-behaved ESA pug with us) I need to add that the proprietor of this hotel reminds me of a movie character, I just don't even have the words. She's absolutely wretched. When we went to check in, we were charged $131.50 for the room (including taxes) + $50.00 for my dog. We were happy to pay that amount. THEN she swiped my card a second time without asking for a $100 (security deposit) SO - $281.50 in total for one night. We promised to not let the dog get on the beds. The "proprietor" said that if dog hair gets on the beds, she will have to throw away the sheets! (Dramatic much?) We agreed to keep the dog away from the beds, not have any guests over, and not smoke in the room and she said we would get the deposit back when we checked out. (I would like to add that we even went as far to drive to a store to purchase our dog a bed for the floor.) Our room had one queen bed and one full bed. The adjoining room with the full bed had no air at all. It was hot inside and smelled. Thankfully, the room with the queen size bed had a window unit that worked well. The carpet was discolored in several spots, we were given 1.5 rolls of toilet paper, stained towels, and I noticed burn holes on the bedspread. We tried to cool the connecting room by keeping the door propped open. My fiancé's son said he sweated all night long. The next day we made sure the room was spotless, we packed the car, and entered the office to check-out before 11. The door to the office chimes when you open it. We could hear the "proprietor" brushing her teeth and hocking loogies loudly in the side room for a few minutes. My fiancé rang the little bell on her desk, she proceeded to brush her teeth and continue to spit into the sink. It wasn't until my fiancé's phone rang that she stepped out and said, "what?!" He explained to her that we were checking out, and that we would like her to examine our room. He told her that we would like our security deposit credited in a timely manner. She flat out refused. She argued with him and came up with several different excuses as to why she couldn't go check our room, that was (conveniently) located directly above the office. I made sure to get a good video of our tidy room AND of this entire ridiculous exchange she had with my fiancé. She ended up calling the cops on us because he was CALMLY asking her to give us our security deposit back. When on the phone with 911, she said "I feel at risky!" SO, we stepped outside and waited for the responding officer. The sergeant that showed up was so kind to us. He said that he highly recommends reading Google reviews before choosing a hotel. He said that this one was notorious around town, and that he would have slept in his car instead. He apologized for not being able to get us our deposit back and he returned our room key to the office for us. Like magic, all of these signs explaining the fees were in the office now! This was a very expensive night in Ellijay. The officer asked us to not judge the town based on our stay there. We promised we wouldn't...the rest of the town is very charming. Ellijay Inn, however, is a nightmare.

However there were a few hiccups: 1) The master bedroom has a ladybug infestation. I chalked it up to season and Blue Sky being unaware until I picked up the visitor journal and noticed several before us also complained. Shame on you guys for not fixing already. 2) Secondary bedroom has a cute bunkbed. Unfortunately the top bunk is not able to be used because the frame has a major split. Very dangerous. 3) The driveway/parking is also very dangerous. We were told we could not enter neighbors property but there is not possible way to enter and leave without doing so. My husband is a farmer and is very use to maneuvering vehicles/equipment but found himself cussing every time we arrived or left. 4) We were issued 4 towels for 4 people for 5 days AND there was no detergent to wash towels. 5) Lastly, the hot water heater gave out after two showers (short showers). This left 1-2 people taking cold showers. As I said, the cabin has potential but the rental company or the owners need to do a better job keeping up with the issues!i

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families can make an…read moreinformed decision. Our family stayed at Timber Trail Lodge, managed by Blue Sky Cabin Rentals, expecting a relaxing vacation. Instead, we experienced multiple safety issues, the most serious of which involved a loaded handgun being discovered inside the cabin. On Friday evening, our 8-year-old son came out of the bathroom and said, "I found something that scared me." He later told us he was tempted to touch it because he had heard a noise and thought it might belong to a "bad guy." Thankfully, he remembered the gun safety lesson taught by his school resource officer: if you ever find a gun, don't touch it, leave the area, and immediately get an adult. That decision may have prevented a tragedy. We went into the bathroom and discovered a handgun on a low shelf that was easily accessible to a child. My husband secured it so our children could not access it while we called for help. We immediately contacted Blue Sky Cabin Rentals' after-hours emergency line. The representative was apologetic but told us she didn't know how to handle the situation. We informed her that we were calling local law enforcement because a loaded firearm had been found inside the cabin. A police officer responded, took an official report, and confirmed the firearm was loaded. According to the police report, it was a Taurus PT-111 G2 with a magazine containing 12 rounds. We expected this to trigger an immediate response from management. Instead, no manager contacted us that evening. Aside from a follow-up call the next morning asking whether we had contacted the police, we were left to deal with the situation ourselves. My husband ultimately had to contact management again on Monday to discuss everything that had occurred. Unfortunately, the firearm was not the only issue with this property. The cabin appeared to have been inadequately cleaned before our arrival. We found dirty underwear and socks left under the beds from previous guests, excessive dust, and dead bugs in closets and beneath furniture. There were also several maintenance and safety concerns: * A nail protruding from a dining chair punctured a family member's skin. * The third-story catwalk railing overlooking the main living area felt loose and raised concerns about fall safety. * One of the beds collapsed under normal use. * We had no hot water on our first night. The company eventually issued a partial refund, and we appreciate that acknowledgment. However, a refund does not change the seriousness of what happened. As parents, we keep thinking about how differently that evening could have ended if our son had acted on his curiosity instead of remembering the safety lesson he had been taught. We are incredibly proud of him and forever grateful to his school resource officer for teaching children what to do if they ever encounter a firearm. We are sharing this review because families deserve to know about our experience before deciding whether to book this property. We sincerely hope Blue Sky Cabin Rentals reviews its cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and emergency response procedures so that no other family experiences what ours did.

Never EVER book your vacation with this company! I tried to leave a review--THEY sent me after our…read morerecent stay at the Blacker House, Manistee, Michigan, but they deleted the entire thing! They only left my title and one star. This company is a total scam. They have photos of the property that only resemble the property itself. Let me explain that we had a family reunion in Manistee on the 4th of July, and had booked it we THOUGHT through VRBO, almost a year in advance 2025 for 8.5K however once I received the email, I merely followed the link. Also note, Manistee gets booked solid annually every year since the early 1930's so when we arrived and saw the condition of the place we had ZERO options to stay elsewhere. We had a family reunion. We had to try and make the best of it. On VERBO photos show VACASA as the managing partner with pristine manicured lawn and garden all around the property. They had a strict no smoking rule on the entire property as well as strict no partying rule. The photos showed staged beds-all with beautiful quilts and pillows. The large dining table with a lovely table cloth. When we arrived the lawn was ankle deep and the garden overgrown to the extent it looked like a haunted house. The garbage close to the entrance in multiple garbage pails were over flowing and flies were infesting and just everywhere as we walked up to the entry. We unlocked the door, there were two entry doors, one knob came off. The floor and stairs were filthy. There was actual dried poop in the only downstairs toilet with various implants stuck in it. The dining table was broken, no tablecloth. The bathrooms staged, not cleaned. When I picked up the silicone hair trap in one tub the sludgy hair mass that hung from it was gag producing. Two beds had nothing but sheets. Nothing else. Curtains were grimy, filthy and on bent temporary rods. When we attempted to call for help--good luck. You do not reach anyone local who owns the property or who cares for the property. You just reach their customer service that gives platitudes and do nothing. When I asked for only a partial refund they gave me --get this $250 cleaning fund back. YEAH THANKS! It was NEVER CLEANED, of course they had to give me my cleaning fund back! They flatly refused any other credit for compensation for FIXING THEIR TOILET FULL OF FECES OURSELVES! Or for CLEANING THE HOUSE OURSELVES! Or for not being able to use the yard to play all the games we brought because it was so overgrown! What we saw in the ad, what we paid for was NOTHING like what we got! BEWARE OF THESE SCAM ARTISTS!
