I have to say that the people who are doing the scheduling and rescheduling of appointments is not up to the high caliber of professionalism and perfection of the previous schedulers. Last summer my college son's summer appointment was canceled! Appointments are hard to come by and we always appreciate the attempt to reschedule. And in fairness and to be helpful, we always cancel and call ahead if we have any changes that need to be made. I just got stuck again and have lost out on my December appointment due to carelessness. We have always booked appointments a year in advance and it's common to need to move a date when you book that far ahead. I recommend you check often if you make any changes to your original schedule AND verify appointments.

After calling around to several different dental offices in the area before making my choice, I chose Dr. Cerone almost entirely based on Eric, the receptionist who was one of the most professional, efficient, and knowledgeable dental office receptionists I have ever met to this day. Unfortunately, he does not work there anymore, and unfortunately, the dental care provided did not match the care he provided. I went in to get a root canal and a crown. After receiving my root canal at a great endodontist that Dr. Cerone's office suggested to me (endodontist did a perfect root canal - endodontist was, again, suggested by Eric), I went back to Dr. Cerone's office for my crown. Out of respect, I will not name the dentist who treated me... But I will say that I made 5 EXTRA trips to this office that did not need to be made because my crown was poorly made 4 different times. I calculated, and I spent a minimum of 11 extra hours in that office that, had the crown and all the procedures been done right the first time, did not need to be spent. I am an extremely patient, forgiving person... But even I will say that 5 extra trips and 11 extra hours for a simple crown is excessive. Even then, I did not complain - I understood that sometimes people make mistakes and maybe the entire thing was not completely in their control (they send their crown molds to an off-site location). I wasn't going to write a bad review, even when I knew that this kind of treatment and care deserved one. When I requested to have a few simple fillings done out of precaution (because I did not want to go through the trouble of another root canal... surprising, I am sure) and I asked for a discount for all my troubles, they simply said no. Now THAT, my friends, is overkill. When you know the extreme amount of time and trouble that one of your patients went through for a simple crown from one of your dentists and you won't even offer a simple discount after all that... That is ridiculous. And that's saying a lot, coming from me. To top it all off, when I went to my new dentist a week or so ago, he took a look at my X-Rays and immediately asked, "Who did your crown? This is not a very well-done crown..." and proceeded to show me why. He did mention, however, that the endodontist who did my root canal did an excellent job. All of this to say - I can take people making mistakes, even multiple ones. I do believe that if the mistakes and less-than-acceptable treatment/care is excessive, the care provider should make amends or some sort of effort to placate the customer. Bad customer service and care on TOP of excessive unacceptable treatment is not okay. Period.

When I think of my dentist, Dr. C, I smile knowing from the front door, his staff will greet you, and when you sit in his chair, it is like going to a therapy session. His staff is like a family. No, not like car dealerships try to lie to us, but really, like family you want to see. Immediately this guys voice and sense of humor is calming. Once he is getting down to the business of working on your toofers, he is truly a master at making it painless no matter your past experiences. A second opinion from another provider confirmed that the crown had been placed incorrectly and would need to be completely redone. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for corrective care, including a new crown and additional treatment. What made this experience even worse was the dentist's behavior during the procedure. While working on my teeth, he repeatedly changed the music mid-treatment, checked stock prices on his computer, and at one point was shopping for a new dental chair on eBay. This was all happening while I was in the chair receiving care. In addition, he performed all parts of the visit himself--including the X-rays, cleaning, and crown work--with no hygienist present. Not only is this a red flag in terms of practice standards, but it also led to a rushed, chaotic, and impersonal experience that clearly compromised the quality of care. When I reached out to request reimbursement for the failed dental work, I was met with a dismissive and hostile email. Rather than take any accountability, He refused to engage in a professional resolution and instead told me I should "take it up with the dental board." The level of care and professionalism I received was entirely unacceptable. I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state dental board. I strongly urge others to think twice before seeking treatment at this office. Dental work requires trust, skill, and focus--none of which I received here.

Unfortunately, what we experienced was the complete opposite--marked by unprofessional behavior, a lack of empathy, and unnecessarily aggressive treatment toward children. During my first visit, I allowed my son to go back alone, trusting the staff and standard protocol. After the visit, he came out visibly shaken and crying, pleading with me not to take him back. He described how the dentist told him to "shut up" when he expressed that he was in pain and was reportedly rough with his head and mouth. As a parent, it's hard to immediately accept such an account without witnessing it, but I gave the benefit of the doubt--assuming my child may have been exaggerating due to fear. However, during my second visit with different children, I witnessed firsthand behavior that validated everything my son said. My oldest child was audibly crying from the back, clearly in distress. When I entered the room, the dentist was once again telling my child to "shut up" and threatening to stop treatment if he didn't stop crying. I calmly asked the dentist to consider that my son might be in genuine pain or afraid, and requested that he be a bit more gentle and understanding. Instead of showing compassion, the dentist dismissed my concern entirely and replied, "He just needs to be quiet or you can go somewhere else." Shortly after, while I was comforting my son and holding his hand (at the nurse's suggestion), the dentist noticed I had my cell phone in my hand--which I had simply brought in with me as I rushed in upon hearing my child's screams. I was not on a call or recording. He abruptly told me, "You need to take your phone to the waiting room or I won't do anything else." I explained that I wasn't using it and hadn't seen any signage prohibiting phones, but he pointed to a sign and insisted he wouldn't proceed until I physically removed the phone. After complying and returning, I was handed a procedure form to sign. While signing it with one hand and holding my son's hand with the other, the dentist paused mid-treatment and said, "I'm not doing any more work until that paper is signed." I reassured him I was in the process of signing. I then let him know I would like to speak with him once the procedure was complete. Instead of agreeing, he said, "No, you're going to talk to me now." When I repeated that I preferred to speak after treatment, he said, "Then I'm not doing anything to your kids," and walked out of the room. A few minutes later, his assistant returned and told me the dentist had refused to continue service and that I needed to leave or the police would be called. This experience was traumatic for both myself and my children. What should have been a standard pediatric dental visit became an emotionally distressing event due to the dentist's aggressive tone, dismissiveness, lack of compassion, and inappropriate behavior with minors. The dentist's inability to handle young patients with patience and empathy is alarming. I urge any parent considering this office to proceed with caution. Children deserve to feel safe and heard--especially in medical settings. I sincerely hope this review helps bring awareness to this pattern of behavior and encourages change, accountability, or review by proper licensing boards. The office is very very clean and they check your temperature when you get in the door. I really like how Dr. Jung is honest, he shows you everything that may be wrong with photos so you know exactly what is the problem. There were 4 problem areas I had, but two of them were on watch but the other two was I had a small cavity and the other was a filling popped off. The whole thing was quick and not painful at all.
