AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! Reserved two lanes for a party of my family. Over $200 for reservation. I quickly found that there was hardly any point in being charged for bowling shoes. The approach to the alley was very sticky, I probably could have bowled better in my cowboy boots. Ball selection for large hands was terrible. I explored 3/4 of the available balls and could only find a straight cut ball that fit my two middle fingers but the thumb hole was undersized. Straight cut means the finger holes are not smoothed out but rather have a sharp edge. I played along until I just couldn't anymore. My finger were hurting pretty bad. The food stand...I waited more than 20 minutes waiting for two pitches of soda and a couple of cups of ice water. Funny thing was I got a text saying my order was ready and then sat and waited for 20 min before it was actually ready. Management...Step up your game. This place sucks! read more

Came here on New Year's Day, a holiday that everyone is off for. The staff was miserable and I accommodating. There was supposed to be a special $20 a person to bowl for 2 hours. When one hour was up we went to the desk to ask why that was, he made it clear it was totally our fault and talked to us like idiots when we said we had asked for 2 hours. Also the bar was closed. We gave it sometime and asked when it would be open, or if someone could just pour us a pitcher of beer. Tremendous attitude and a how dare you ask, I have no bartender it opens at 5. Not sure what all the negative reviews regarding the service are about, maybe they've gotten new employees since then? Our experience was perfectly fine, we had a group of 12 and everyone had a great time. All the employees were polite, especially the guy at the front counter. Our lanes functioned intermittently, resetting pins was occasionally a mess and had to be cleared several time. Scoring was rather inaccurate. But we weren't good bowlers, so we didn't care about that too much. Lastly, some letters on the keypad didn't work. Consequently, our bowling names were not real names... Aiail, Joh, Ein, Ophie, etc... it added some laughs. Kitchen was closed when we went so I can't say anything about the food. Lanes during open bowling are $30/hr, shoes are $5/person. We had enough fun that I'd give it more stars for the overall experience, but the functionality was so lacking that I don't feel like I can give this place more than 2 stars. I'd be surprised if bowling leagues were interested in this place with how infrequently the lanes worked right. read more

I made a reservation online for two hours of bowling on one lane. The prices were very high, which I am assuming is why there were only two other groups with me on a Friday afternoon. I also had to pay in full with a reservation fee online, so I paid for two pairs of shoes thinking I would need them but had a guest cancel so I only rented one pair. I attempted to call asking if I could get the money back from the pair of shoes I wouldn't be renting, but after calling 3 times no one would pick up. As I went with my group and played our games, we tried getting the money back again in person, to which the person at the front desk told me I couldn't get it back. I didn't get it back until he called a "manager" who was not at the bowling alley because they apparently leave early every night. I never leave reviews, but this was a sad experience for a bachelorette party. Mid County Lanes fell off. read more

I've traveled from Maryland several times to attend pro-am tournaments at Mid County Lanes. Service was always on the ball (pun intended). I notice the pinsetter and ball return equipment seems to be faster than other houses, so the rate of play can be faster, with less waiting. If the professionals come here regularly for their tournaments, it's a good house. read more

Worst experience i've ever had bowling. Every single worker had a horrible attitude and was just straight up disrespectful. The food was horrible and the staff stated my group was "too big" to use bumpers. They sold us 5 games and only let us play one. They criticize one of the African American members of our group and stared at him the entire time. We couldn't even enjoy our game because they were staring out us the entire time. Where to start.... We had our son's 8th birthday party here this past weekend. It was supposed to be the arcade party, where the kids have 2 hours playing all of the games/using the attractions (laser tag, bumper cars, etc). Upon arriving at 12:30 for a 1 PM party, we were told there was an issue with literally every single arcade game, and power was not working. The only things working were laser tag and the bumper cars. Nothing else was functioning, including most of the upper lighting, making the room extremely dark. (In addition, oddly, the AC was on full blast, making the room 60 degrees, so cold that everyone was freezing and going outside to warm up. Can't adjust the A/C to a comfortable level??) After speaking to both the party planner and manager, it became quite evident that they had virtually no idea how to handle the situation, such as calling us prior to arrival to let us know of the situation, all the way through offering sincere apologies, comping the "party" and offering a future event at no cost. At one point my wife said, perhaps you could give all the kids a couple hundred tickets to go pick out one of your crappy "prizes" that you can win when the machines are operational, to which we were told no. Ok, at this point I'm thinking they'll say, "the party is on us since it's such an absolute disaster, and since we didn't call to warn you and since you're obviously extremely upset since your son's birthday party is ruined." Do you know what they offered instead? Doubling the party time to go bowl, no financial reimbursement, and literally saying "it's out of our hands." In the end, after a lot of back and forth, they offered "half price". After more arguing, they then came back and said they'd only charge us for the food, but wound up overcharging AND keeping the deposit we had put down. So we paid $130 for the absolute worst party ever, stress, disappointment and utter incompetence. The manager and "party planner" just kept passing responsibility, saying it was the other one we needed to talk to, and then being told only the owner could do anything further. Do you think they put us in touch with the owner? Of course not. So, long story short (sort of) DO NOT DO A BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE and frankly, DO NOT bowl here or anything else. Just awful and will make sure everyone we talk to knows the facts. Shame on Mid County Lanes. read more

Customer service is horrible. Asked to have my kids points from their cards (that were supposed to be good "forever") to be read and was told they don't use those cards anymore. Then was told it was our fault we didn't come in with in the time they had a note on the door or on Facebook. Who follows a bowling alley on Facebook or drives into a shopping center gets out of their car and walks up to a door on a regular basis to see if they have a note. Just shady in every possible way. Then while we were there for a bday party they handed the kids a free laser tag coupon for another day with a six month expiration date on it from the day it was given. Thats all well and good but the date on it was 3 months prior to the day it was actually given. Didn't notice it until we got home. Had to laugh at that one after being told it was our fault about the cards being changed. So needless to say we will never be back. read more

Wouldn't give it a star if I could. We used to come here at least once a week until recently. They wouldn't honor their military discount & charged us 40 dollars for an hour on one lane. We asked for 2 hours & the kid said no, they close at 10 (we got there at 9 because their hours said they close at 11) so we could only get one hour which wasn't a big deal. Our lane was literally nonfunctional & the kid got mad when we asked to switch which wasted a ton of time & he couldn't be bothered because he was playing on a lane with his friends. Then after our mostly wasted one hour we asked if we could finish our game because there was others still playing & said we'd pay for another hour/game if they would let us keep playing. The kid said no we are closed but then continued to play on a lane with his friends that he had been doing for the last 30+ minutes. We used to love coming here because it was so close & something fun to do during the week/weekend but now it's just a wash. They never follow the hours on their website which doesn't match their google listing either. Go ANYWHERE else instead. read more

What an absolute horrible experience. Wanted to take my daughter bowling on a Sunday. Looked at the website and there's no league on Sunday so I thought it would be fine, but to be safe I called, during business hours, and got the answering machine. (So there's still people that use those!). Having lived in Delaware for 6 years now, I knew better than to leave a message and expect a call back, so we just went. Guess what. Sign on the door. Tournament. Sorry. So we went to their Family Fun Galaxy. The dimly black light lit hell hole attached to the bowling alley, where customer service goes to die like a distant world swallowed by a black hole. Following posted procedures, I buy a card to play games. It didn't work. When I inform the Customer Service Engineer at the counter, she is incredulous and asked me if I inserted the card correctly, describing, incorrectly, how to do it... I assure her that my IQ is definitely sufficient to operate a child's arcade game, using one of those new fangled "smart" cards, but she didn't believe me, and tried the game for herself. Convinced that it must be the machine, and not my card, she then finally used a special, apparently magical and revered "manager's card" to coax the machine to dispense the coveted balls so we could enjoy a game of consolation bowling. (Though part of our turns were missed while I explained, using english, and pantomime that would win me any charades game in the state, that we were trying to play a TWO PLAYER GAME!) Next (different) game... same issue. I then learned that replacing a card with another requires a manage. This particular manager, must have been summoned from two counties over, but finally, after her arrival, she disgustedly threw my offending card into the used card basket, (To become someone else's problem on another day) and I was blessed with an operational game card. Time for bumper cars. After we mounted a search party for an employee to admit us to this stellar attraction, (and after asking the CSE to send someone over, which never happened) a few moments of Family Fun was finally had! We played some games, using my new, improved, and miraculously functional game card, and amassed hundreds of tickets, but when it came time to run them through one of the two counters, one was broken. The other had a line 3 totally funn'ed our families and thousands of tickets deep. No matter. Family number one filled the machine up to inoperable status, indicated clearly by the "FULL" sign flashing in front of their faces each time they tried to insert more tickets. My kid wanted something that cost, at most, 1/3 of the amount if tickets we had, but after explaining the nonfunctional status of both machines, (and pointing out the two families trying to Make the Machine Great Again, by continuing to attempt to stuff tickets into a machine that was flashing a "Full" sign at them, the CSE, not taking our word for the excessive amount of tickets required for our Inequitable exchange, began to count them by hand.... but then inexplicably stopped 1/4 of the way through to attend to other customers. Patience worn beyond thin.... basically through, we left the tickets on the counter, and with a promise to my kid to buy her the same trinket at Target later, we exited the establishment, a bit poorer in cash, but more importantly, at a loss of time that we'll never get back. Basically, this poorly run shit hole sucks! read more

I asked if it was possible to stay open and Shawna said sure. We appreciate the management staying and letting us bowl. Our youth had a great time and enjoyed the cosmic bowling. Clean & family friendly. However, was not allowed to cut a birthday cake that our grandmother baked because our relative was turning 24 and that does not qualify for a birthday "package". We have easily spent equal if not more for our family outing today. Grandma was sent out with the cake and we left disappointed. Ended up cutting and eating the cake In the parking lot. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with the management here. Would not recommend to come here for a birthday party. read more

I took my 9 and 6 year olds. Today and we had a blast. The bowling area was clean and the girl Heather that was working was awesome. The laser tag was fun. The bumper cars area has a few too many cars. Too small for more than maybe 5 or so. The arcade was ok. Not the best, not the worst. Overall it was a very good experience. read more

I've been to this bowling alley a few times and every time I go I tell myself I'm never going back. The employees are extremely rude and have poor customer service. The prices are low compared to other bowling alleys in the area, however, I rather drive 20 minutes and pay more money to bowl than to bowl at this particular establishment. Management tends to close early on sunday nights (9:00pm) due to light business and the bowling leagues make it impossible to bowl on Saturday nights. Even if you get there well before 9 on a Sunday they will only allow you to bowl one game even if you clearly have more time to bowl. Me and my bf were told by a manager that it was "physically impossible" to bowl more than one game in 45 minutes when in reality it only takes us 10-12 minutes to bowl one game. On many occasions they wouldn't allow us to bowl more than one game when we had plenty of time to. The pins tend to get stuck a lot and if you don't have your own ball good luck looking for one they provide. The bowling balls are not grouped together based on size so when u need a certain size you basically have to look through all of them to find your size. Where at other bowling alleys the sizes are separated and grouped together based on weight making it quick and easy for one to find the perfect ball for you. Lastly, the snack bar is always out of popular items listed on the menu. Overall I do not recommend this bowling alley. read more
