My review is for the auto sales side of Mid Illili. Looking for a vehicle recently, I spotted one on their web site, inquired and stopped in to check it out. Everyone seemed genuine, helpful and welcoming and I assumed I had found a dealer that didn't play games. As it turns out, the car I was interested in wasn't available to drive, in fact it wasn't even readily available to sell. I was encouraged to look at different vehicles, even after the sales staff had spoken to me about the particular car. I voiced my concern and was given the typical sales excuses. I left that day, drove across town and found the car I was looking for. I don't believe Mid Illini is dishonest or deceitful, but remember they want to sell you before anything else. read more

Oil change, tire rotation, aftermarket lug nuts, air filter, cabin air filter, $350. Aftermarket air filters alone $150.00 installed. Got estimate at the jeep dealer for same job with oem parts and service technician, $310.77 out the door. I am disappointed and feel taken advantage of. I will not be back, I own multiple vehicles and maintain them regularly at the dealership, thought I would give these folks a try, didn't work out well for me. Becareful of the "friendly" customer service these guys advertise. Friends don't do friends this way. I took my 2018 kia soul to Todd the service manager complaining of knocking/noises coming from my pulley system. I was charged $130 and sent packing. No problems. Now a few short weeks later my belt went damaging my alternator and ac unit. The mechanic is telling me the whole tension system was off. Howd they miss that? We are going to test this warranty. This was all avoidable. I keep receits. Now I have to have my car towed from Decatur to Pekin. What a scam. This is not how you treat friends. read more

Bought a car from Mid-illini back in October, they kept it for 4 weeks to get the key fob programmed and the windshield fixed, I work from home so I don't drive to only go to the store and my grands softball games. The other day, car wouldn't stay running, and now it's completely dead, and no, I have no warranty other than powertrain, it's all I could get just out of a bankruptcy. I called Mid-Illini to see if they would look at it....sure they will, for 125.99 just to DIAGNOSE!! They won't even call me back, they got their money and that's clearly all that matters to them! This place will not always work on your vehicle. They want to work on new cars not your 20 year old shitbox. That being said, we had an estimate down, and a date down to do front end work and get an alignment. After it sat for 2-3 days i called down and they told me, "the owner will not work on this vehicle here". On top of all of this they're fairly pricey; hit up your small business shops instead. If Mid Illi wants to work on your vehicle they will do a good job, but its not for sure. Never had a business tell me no to good money! read more

They always seem honest. I never have felt like i am paying for an unnecessary repair. They explain the issue and weather it is a good idea or not to proceed with the repair. If you are strapped on cash and are worried about paying for something you dont need, don't worry! They will take care of you. read more

The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because Brittney Levieux is a great salesperson and even called me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday which is just so sweet. Their service department however is a glorified tire shop. Blew me off about the air leak we still can't locate, when the engine went into limp mode they said that even tho tranny was full of good clean fluid that its failing but since they can't prove it it can't be warranties, when we got under the hood ourselves we found the air hose where the housing connects to the throttle had a broken clip and was not connected let alone sealed. I brought it in 4 separate times for excess impact noise and vibrations at high speeds and they balanced the tires and gave it an alignment at one point, all for free which was great except that 2 of the times I specified that the issue was clearly in the suspension, and when I asked them to locate which piece of the suspension it was they told me they looked and everything is tight and no issues and that I had to go spend an outrageous amount having it balanced by a special machine because they kept becoming unbalanced. Last time I brought it in I intentionally rode with to help indicate which sounds i was hearing that I wanted identified, there was some belt noise and the steering wheel shudders when turning either direction, plus the impact noise is even worse, they take it in and tell me I need a new belt and idler pulley, no big deal I heard the noise and figured but we had the belt ready to put on that wasn't what I asked about, still saying no issues with suspension but the impact noise is reaching jack hammer level even at slow speeds, said they found that the oil filter housing is cracked and leaking oil and if I don't get that fixed ASAP it's going to explode oil everywhere, and the trans cooling lines are leaking. Quoted $3000 for all that, warranty won't cover any of it, so we changed the belt and pulley and the belt was fine it was just the pulley that needed changed, looked at transmission cooling lines ya there's some slightly leaking but they're relatively simple to replace no big deal. The oil filter housing I don't see the levels dropping and I'm not leaving oil spots anywhere. I know I'm not a professional mechanic but the shock mounts are definitely part of the suspension and are clearly worn and needing replaced. At the end is where I'll state I've been going in alone as a single woman and this was the service I received, blown off for the issues I am asking about and told my vans going to blow up if I don't spent $900 right now, the oil levels don't seem to be lowering and I'm not leaving oil spots and I'm not smelling burning oil. Don't go to their service department if you are a solo female they won't help you. read more

My experience with buying my truck was a good one Jessica was very pleasant, I was told the truck came with a 10 year, 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I made sure to ask about the lift bc I knew it was after Market and was told "it should be covered since it is being sold to you with it" I have been in sales for 25+ years and sales management for 15+ with that being said after having my truck for a couple months I noticed a shake in the front end. When I took it in for my first oil change I told them this (which conveniently there is no record of) but was told they didn't see anything wrong and because of the bigger tires it would drive differently. This isn't my first truck with big tires. Let me add that on my paperwork they said the tires checked out fine. Roughly 3 weeks later and yes 7000 since I bought the truck the shaking got considerably worse I took it back to have it looked at they called and told me I needed new front spindles and ball joints on both sides AND my tires needed rotated because they were worn. Came to almost $3000 which now I am told isn't covered because the warranty is only power train and because they are after market parts. When I called to talk to the General Manager he was very condescending and talked down to me like I was a child that had never owned a vehicle. Tried to tell me they have no record of me saying anything when I came for the oil change and when owning a vehicle you have to do maintenance on it "that is part of being a car owner". Thanks for clearing that up for me. Then was told that he would recommend I get a 2nd or 3rd opinion that the estimate that they "may have given the worst case scenario estimate he wasn't sure of that exactly" When I brought up the warranty he said "I don't believe that is what was said" I asked him why would I lie which he said he wasn't saying I was a liar.... well thats what that means. So long story short I paid over $40,000 for a truck that needs over $3,000 of what he calls routine maintenance and they day they aren't responsible for it because there wasn't any record in their system of me telling then about it. read more

I apologize for the wrong information in my earlier review and I've removed it. The estimate my roommate received for her brake repair (and this was about a year ago) was not $2000 but it was a little over $1000 (just in case there was major damage, rust, or what have you). It was frustrating because she did not have that kind of money and believe me, she would've loved to buy a new car from you but unfortunately it was not feasible due to living on a fixed income. I understand that you guys were just doing your job and we appreciate you informing us of the worst case scenario. As far as the repair on her car last week, she has not stopped raving about your awesome customer service, your sense of urgency about getting her the parts she needed, AND the fact that you gave her a discount. I apologize about my earlier comments; I was quite impressed myself and happy you got it taken care of fairly quickly, but when the problem persisted it was a little aggravating. I did let Rose know that you contacted her back though; I don't think she realized you called because if she does not recognize the phone number on her cell, she will not pick up. She says she will give you guys another call back to see if she can get her car back in on Friday but she is very concerned about how much this will cost yet again. I got a brake inspection,for 45.they told me,i had calipers bad,and a leaking wheel cylinder,then i found out,thete was no leak,and my caliper was fine,and they charge,over 1000..for a brake job,i woundnt,recommend this shop to anyone,they r a complete ripoff,as i noticed,there was only1 truck,there,plus they never gave me the paperwork for the estimate,illegal activitys over there,Beware!!!!!! read more
