It was an easy process when we were getting a mortgage through MidIsland but thats where it ended. For background, our house is worth about $900,000 and we owe $325,000. So MidIsland still owns our house 4 months ago the house next to us had a fire. Luckily everyone was safe but we had some damage. Our homeowners insurance paid us $80,000 quickly (check made out to us and MidIsland) but MidIsland has been making it very difficult to get the money. First Incorrect information about endorsement of the check delaying us getting any money. then questioning amount insurance paid us (cannot understand why they care) Which delayed almost a month Because adjuster said 76,000 and check was $80,000. Then scheduling inspection appointments to receive more money and not showing up. We are seniors, trying to pay contractor so taking it out of retirement, etc. Would never recommend MidIsland to anyone read more

I was then recommended to speak with David. Within the first day I was told I could save substantially on the closing costs (which I did). Not a good experience at all put me through the ringer working on a Refinance only to waste my time for weeks on end. They don't listen when you talk. I had to go over the same things over and over and over again no help from gentlemen working on my refinance, never available. And the girl working with the underwriter to get my information was a nightmare very nasty . our overall experience was a nightmare. I also unfortunately had a very bad experience here. I had to repeatedly follow up with the broker who was clearly disorganized and distracted. I'll spare the specific broker but after MULTIPLE credit checks due to "delays with the underwriter" the refi finally just fell apart. Complete and utter waste of time. Beware. read more

If I could give no stars I would. This company has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. This is only because I never get to speak with anyone BUT this one woman with an accent who answers the phone. They have taken away my ability to pay online or automated system which I really would prefer because I literally DREAD having to speak to this woman every month. She is so incredibly nasty, and condescending. I actually just got off the phone with her and she shouted at me asking if I have enough money to cover the payment. This is not how you speak to people. I do not ask for a response as I know they will just try to justify this and I truly don't want to hear it. It was just really embarrassing as my coworkers heard her because of how loud she shouted it. Times are hard for everyone right now, and a little compassion would be nice. They need to hire nicer people instead of the pit bull they have now. I really would love my access to the website to be given back as it's so much easier to pay and in a timely manner and I wouldn't have to speak to this woman anymore. read more

Shawn was able to get us a great rate with reasonable costs. Keep in mind, we refinanced during the beginning stages of the COVID 19 pandemic when businesses were not operating fully. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy since ive had them nothing ever went easy and horrible communication... they do not in any way try to help nor do they care about there customers.. went to refinance last year and because of them not doing there job on time was told i was closing at end of month need a certain amount not what i pay a month and 2 days before was suppose to close told me i needed full amount and from this i fell behind and have been trying to catch up and on top of that had medical/ health problems and they still dont help BUT because they dont help the customers they wont just take what i can pay as far as a monthly payment i need to pay in full what i owe when other companies ive had in past will take so you can catch up what a mistake to ever start with them should of been a sign when my realtor dosnt even recommend them any more.... Every step of the way is never clear communication and everything is opposite of what they lead you to believe... would leave no stars if i could read more

These people were completely inept. They kept telling me just wait we got this. Then month and month passed. They sent documents they had no idea what I was supposed to do with. They gave me a rate that they changed at the last minute "because our company had a bad year Mr Valetta said. It took four months to close. They wouldn't give me my appraisal until two days before closing. After I did close Mr valletta sent someone else's closing document with a pass word to open the documents. I deleted it imediatly and told him about it. THESE PEOPLE ARE A HOT MESS. I just went thru a completely different process with proffesinals at chase bank. couldn't have been more different. These people may not be crooks, but they are either overworked or inept.im so happy to be rid of them. read more

Mid-Island mortgage corp is a disgrace, the last correspondence I received from mid-island was on March 23rd. They have disappeared and have not responded to the emails, forms or calls I have made in response to the CARES act. I have called almost daily!!! I have waited for hours to speak to someone who says I am not responsible for your type of loan. After waiting another hour on hold, I was told they do not comply with deferred payments added to the backend of the mortgage. This is despicable and they should go out of business. read more
