I've only used the new updated version once but I had a good experience. I'm really happy they still send my benefit statement in the mail. You can also download it online in your account. My life's work history and award letters are all on the website. You never know when you may need income verification. You shouldn't wait until you retire to view your records for your Social Security. Get the emails to. They will remind you annually to check your earnings record. Finally one last thing! Why isn't anyone else reviewing this Government Agency? Social Security touches every individual from birth to death. These days when you're born you get a Social Security number!!

Brutally unpleasant place if you happen to be an adult; it's almost entirely geared toward children…read moreand their nannies, spacewise. Incredibly, you're banned from occupying any space whatsoever on the spacious ground floor if you're an adult and not there with a child. The basement level is given over to a 2nd-hand bookstore; this leaves a 2nd floor where the most pleasant space by the windows is entirely roped off for teenagers and their tutors after 3 pm. The section can sit there almost entirely empty until closing (see photo from 4:30 pm midweek), but that's the deal. The explanation here is that "it's for their safety." (From whom, pray?) The unpleasant mid-section is mainly given over to computer use overseen by a library worker too often on the phone. Sure, there's a table accommodating 8 adults cheek by jowl...over by the toilets, and yes, you hear the toilets. Sure, an NYC library is allowed to have designated children's areas and designated teen areas. But what if those areas eat an entire floor and, to boot, a whole third of the remaining floor space in a library that is a meager two floors, with a vastly smaller second floor? It's hard to understand how this is allowed, given who pays the taxes on these places--it's not the under-12 set, and the role of Manhattan's libraries is not to fill in as de facto day camps.

I'm going to return to take photos. There's a quiet room. Employees are helpful and they have a restroom. I'm always saying there's no excuse for not getting the book you want. They will order it and have it ready for pick up at your local branch. Get the digital reader. They are adding to their digital library collection all the time. I'm posting some books. Department of Health @ 115 Street 10029…read more This is the closest location to where I currently live. I go here if I need assistance or have a concern. They have the responsibility for health inspections and much more. Their responsibility has grown even more with the pandemic. In my opinion the employees are dedicated and professional. Since the salaries are available if you take the time to research pay grades, I can tell you their salaries are not great. The workloads are enormous. This city at one time had risen to a population of 8.6 Million. Look up the numbers of restaurants, delis and other establishments that require inspection. The number is staggering. Now with COVID rules they added more things that require inspection. At the same time NYC has a horrible shortfall in the budget. Don't forget that business owners have rights too. I use my gut instinct in addition to the inspection information I review on line. All of the inspection information is on their website. Just go to the website and search using the business name and address. I'm typically correct when I sense or see something wrong when I visit a food establishment. If you read the requirements you'll know that a business isn't abiding. A violation doesn't always stop me from letting my food addiction take over. There's some food items I just can't buy anywhere else. The truth is you never know what goes on where you can't see like behind counters and in kitchens. I'm just posting this review for you to see and learn the available resources. When age creeps up on you, in addition to chronic medical conditions, it could be disastrous to eat something contaminated. Now more than ever be sure you know the rules a business needs to follow. You have to use your own judgement with a shortage of inspectors. If there's a problem contact these folks for more information.

The IDNYC office is room 220 and there are 4 chairs their for waiting which may not be enough but other than that the process was very smooth. Staff is very professional and well mannered unlike many Govt offices.

CC Wikipedia I've been visiting the Academy Building for at least Four Years. I noticed between 96th Street and 105th Street on Fifth Avenue a section of Museum Mile I call Medical Row! The Architecture of this building enticed me to enter. Plus there's a Cafe inside. I've felt welcome for the most part. There is a Concierge/Security to your right when you enter. I've taken photos and haven't been thrown out so that's a good thing. They have lots of events on a multitude of topics. During breaks you can grab lunch and coffee at Cafe on Fifth located on premises. I enjoy my time spent visiting the Academy. I'm writing this review for informational purposes. You may share my interest in urban community public health. Or you may just want to absorb the historic presence of this 1926 building both inside and out.

I had the opportunity to attend an event in the rare book room at the NY Academy of Medicine…read more First of all, the building is very grand. Wiki tells me it's a mix of Byzantine Revival and Lombardian Romanesque styles, my eyes tell me it must've been expensive. The elevators in the building received their 15 minutes of fame when they were featured in The Royal Tenenbaums in the scene where Gene Hackman was working as an elevator operator. Unfortunately, in the last 10+ years, they moved from having an operator to the self-service model. Now when Skynet takes over they'll be one elevator stronger. Our event was about Women and Medicine and was held in the rare books room, accessible only by those with a special elevator key. Once inside, you get a strong whiff of old books and leather binding. It's sort of magical and what I imagine Hogwarts smells like. In the talk, they showed us all kinds of treasures including ancient medical tomes with handwritten recipes for piles (this was apparently a huge problem for the lady who wrote this book), medical texts with multi-layered anatomy diagrams (the old school version of 3D/VR), and even the only copy of one of the first books teaching people about birth control. The ladies leading the talk were super knowledgeable and kind enough to answer silly (and serious) questions about both the topic and the various interesting things in the room. It slipped my mind during the Q&A period but apparently, you can see George Washington's dentures!
