Went in to get the $54.99 full Synthetic Oil change today and the water to chathe me $110.00 for my oil change! Granted my truck takes more than 5 quarts of oil! But the wanted 12.99 for each additional quart and the oil and filter change turned out to be $64.99 ! To me this is bait and switch! Very deceptive advertising practices! I will never go back to Midas again! I would advise everyone to do the same! read more

I have gone to Midas for years. They avoided fixing the issue 3rd time! Flex pipe was replaced twice in their shop. Of course when they printed out what was to be FULL REPORT of ALL work done on my vehicle there, they avoided ADDING They replaced my Flex Pipe twice within 6 to 7 months period..... I have proof They replaced it twice but on the print out shows NO records of it done there. Took it back due to same issue, still denied replacement of the Flex pipe. This time I was quoted for full exhaust system. Completely incorrect, I took to another RELIABLE HIGHLY recommended shop and it was again the same issue Midas denied replacing . THEY LOST MY BUISNESS, SCAMMED my parents and I out of alot of money. Will continue business with the HIGHLY recommended shop. read more

I had an appointment on April 2nd 2018 at 04:00 pm for car diagnosis. My car was not attended untill 06:00 pm. Assistant person Scot ask me to visit again on April 04 th 2018 & he offer me to waive off diagnosis fees i.e. $91. When I visited again on 04th April 2018 Scot was not there. Another assistant person don't know his name refuse to give me any discount as promised 2 days ago. I just wasted 2 & half hours for nothing. They don't care about valuable time of customer & commitment. I will never visit Midas again. I wish, I could give 0 star. read more

We took our 2010 Ford Escape in for brakes, and exhaust repair. This was on December 22, 2021. While it was in there I asked them to look at the serpentine belt to see if it needed to be replaced. The vehicle has 115,000 miles on it and the belt had never been replaced. So I was not surprised when they said that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. So I told them to check all of the pulleys and replace anything that needed to be replaced. They agreed. About three hours later when the car was finally ready to go they told me that they replaced the belt but that all pulleys look great. We then took the vehicle 22 miles home and parked it for four days as we were doing holiday traveling and using our other vehicle. On Monday, December 27 my wife went to start the car and the belt came off. She contacted Midas in Davenport and they agreed that they would pay to have the vehicle towed to the local Ford dealer and repaired at their expense. So we got a Rent-A-Car and we were prepared to accept that sometimes things just happen. We were going to pay for the Rent-A-Car ourselves. We rented a car for two days and then we found out that Midas had broken the tensioner pulley. They declined to pay for that claiming that they never touched the tensioner pulley. That is nothing but a lie. You cannot remove a serpentine belt and install one without using the tensioner pulley. Avoid these clowns at all costs. Believe me. It will cost you more money to fix their screwup's. I plan on contacting their corporate office. Now I will get reimbursed for the repair and the Rent-A-Car cost. read more

Too many quality control issues - unacceptable for their rates. Had a cooling system flush done and had them replace the hoses. We had to tell the mechanic to reattach the shroud which they left hanging towards the ground. Sloppy. A few weeks later we took the car to them for a follow-up oil change. They told us that we needed a new radiator! They JUST serviced the cooling system. Turns out, they neglected to tighten the upper radiator hose clamp properly and it leaked antifreeze all over the radiator and engine. This later ended up costing up hundreds of dollars to repair damage done by overheating. This isn't the first time this shop has done sloppy, neglectful work. They once replaced the axles on another car and didn't tighten the transmission oil pan properly. The car had to be towed back to the shop as it leaked all the fluid. They had the nerve to charge for a transmission fluid replacement! According to them, it wasn't their fault, despite the fact they worked on it a day prior. What's really sickening, is that Harry (the current manager) overcharged us on labor and, to try to make us feel better about it, brought me to his computer to show me how much they were charging another customer - their name, details, etc., and that we 'shouldn't feel so bad'. Very creepy and unprofessional. They've done decent work on brakes before, but after all of this, we can't bring ourselves to keep damaging our vehicles having work done here. For what they charge, we might as well go to the dealer. I'm looking to notify the BBB of their practices. Buyer beware. read more

Today I took my van into Midas to get an estimate on my brakes. They had just started to go bad yesterday and they needed immediate attention. Midas did their thorough inspection and came back telling me I needed major front brake work costing me well over $1000 and the rear brakes would need attention soon costing over $300. I had a feeling that they were trying to sell me stuff that I really didn't need so I took my van to another place for a second opinion. The service managers at the other place took a look at my brakes and told me all I needed was brake pads and rotors for the front brakes and the rear brakes were fine. They charged me $189.99 plus tax for all the work, saving me $800 for unnecessary work to the front brakes and over $300 for the rear brakes. Thank you Dave, Jason, and Mindy at Choice Automotive for being honest and not trying to sell me something I really don't need. I appreciate it and will highly recommend you to my friends. If you're a woman looking for an honest shop, DON'T waste your time here! I dropped my car off for a routine oil change and to have a leak patched - I was told all my tires had dry rot and there was a nail in the side wall that could not be patched. Luckily my boyfriend is pretty knowledgeable and went to pick up my car. My tires don't have dry rot and the man lied right to his face when he asked about where the nail was in the tire. Took my car to another shop and got two nails taken out of the tread and patched for $20; no nails in the sidewall AT ALL. They quoted me over $500 for four new tires, which I absolutely did not need. Reading the other reviews, seems like this is their M.O. - come in for an oil change, suddenly need 4 new tires. I feel bad for all the other people they've probably screwed over. They're a shady shop and are clearly out to take advantage of any customer they can. read more

Terrible scammers, they will charge for many things you don't need. I now realize this after going there too long. I thought my car just had a lot of troubles like a fool. The final incident that made me never return was: they overfilled the radiator so fluid overflowed on everything then showed me it and said the radiator was cracked and would cost over $1000 to replace. I took it to a dealership and everything was fine and they removed the overfill fluid. The mechanics and managers are all willing to lie to you non stop to make money. read more

Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Experienced a puncture on the highway. The crew at Midas saw us immediately, identified and repaired the puncture in 20 minutes. When I asked our service advisor, Harry, what the cost was, he replied, "no charge... it only took me a minute". We will definitely use Midas again. read more

Never going to them again! They charged me $400 for nothing. Did not fix my problem, and I told them I wasn't paying for a service that they did not fix. They wanted to nickel and dime me out of hundreds of dollars. I needed a whole new engine, and they didn't bother to tell me. Now they sent me to collections for non payment, when I told them I wasn't gonna pay them because they lied to me and didn't fix my problem. Biggest waste of time and money! read more

BEWARE! !! This place PRICE GOUGES! !!. They prey on unknowingly customers. They double dip on work. For instance, if you are having work done on one part(1) and it calls for them to take off another part(2) and you need the second part(2) changed also, then they would charge you another labor charge. Even though they have already taken the other part(2) off and they would have to put it back on. They have great customer service, but they will over charge for any and every little thing. read more

This place is great! We came at first only because we had gotten a midas credit card years ago. Now, we will be continuing to come back because of the wonderful staff. They take the time to show you what is wrong with your vehicle and help you to decide what is the most important to fix, and what could maybe wait until later. I feel like they are all very sincere and honest when explaining things to you. Harry the manager was WONDERFUL and was a lot of fun to talk with. I could tell he cared about my safety, and cared about doing the best job for my truck. He worked with me on choosing the best parts for the needs of my truck, but offered to use parts that would fit a tighter budget. He was even able to provide me, in my situation, multiple ways to pay for my repair. I would, and will be, recommending this repair shop to close friends and family. BEWARE.... Took my SUV that has just been serviced bumper to bumper for an alignment after putting 4 new tires on it.... The car drove beautifully after the new tires just needed an alignment. The shop that we chose for new tires said take it to Midas for an alignment, so we did. As soon as we picked up the vehicle and drive over 45 mph the car swayed from left to right so bad I had to return home. My husband returned the car to Midas and suddenly the shocks and struts needed replaced immediately..... The car was in perfect condition when we took it for an alignment... I will NEVER take or recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I have been getting my oil changed at Midas for a couple of years now and they've always been great. But yesterday the new ownership really amazed me with how above and beyond they went. I had a flat tire that I needed patched and brought it in to learn there were two pieces of metal stuck in it and that it could not be patched safely. My tires were in bad shape all around so decided to buy the bullet and get new ones, but didn't have a lot of time because I needed to get back to my boyfriend who was in the hospital. Not only did they give me a great deal on the tires (about $80 cheaper than the last time I replaced them), but one of the technicians drove me back to the hospital and then picked me up once the tires were done. I've never been so grateful. They went way above and beyond for me and can't say enough about the new ownership. read more

I was traveling between Chicago and Kansas City for Christmas holidays. Had an oil change and car serviced days before we left. Car was not right after I picked it up. I called the Midas shop in Chicago and they said it should be fine. On my drive to Kansas City the car was shaking like crazy. I called this Midas as I was traveling and they said stop by and we will help. I got there at 3:30 pm on a Friday and they got my car repaired and back on the road by 6 pm. It was a miracle. The left front brake was seized up. It was dangerous and I'm so grateful for this store and all of their help. read more

The employees and store manager are all extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Just 2 comments; don't bother trying to request an appt. on their website, you'll never receive a response other than the email saying an employee will contact you soon. Also, they gave me a $180 quote to replace 1 headlight bulb. It was a $28 bulb but was going to be charged an hour for labor because he said the tire and fender needed to be removed to get to the headlight. I will add after I was about to fall over he did lower the price to like $150. Made a call to a friend who told me to go to buy the bulb, he changed it in 10 minutes for a case of beer. I realize this is a business etc., but how is it ok to charge someone an hour labor on a 10 minute job? They would have had my business if they charged me for the bulb, 10min of labor and for them having to use their tools, garage, employee and all that... read more
