When I moved to Newnan GA in June 2024, Midas - Fayetteville & its manager Michael became my go-to guy for my car maintenance & repairs. We had a good business relationship, and I could always rely on him to get the job done at a fair price. However, in January 2026, one of auto technicians completely botched a front brake job for me. I brought in Honda OEM front brake pads because I find them far superior to Midas brake pads. The technician decided two important parts for my Honda front brake pads were unnecessary (ie. Backing plates & clips) and threw them away. As a result, my front brakes started squeaking as soon as I drove home. I scheduled two appointments with Michael to get the squeaking issue with my front brakes resolved (ie. He didn't have time to resolve the issue during the first appt). After waiting 3 hours on my second appt, Michael asks me "So what do you want me to do with this squeaking issue ?" then told me he was aware of the issue from the start, but his auto technician and him couldn't resolve it. So he left me hanging. After a couple days, I took my car to Newnan Honda & had them redo the front brakes. They told me exactly what was causing the squeak issue - The missing front pads parts, backing plates & clips. I told Michael what the issue was, and he told me to send all the receipts, documentation & pictures to a Midas customer service address with a .cc extension (for the country of Cocos (Keeling) Islands). Though I suspected this was a fake email address, I tried to contact Michael twice thru this email address. No response. I then sent all my documentation via certified mail to his business address & gave him until 3/16/2026 to settle the botched front brake job with me. No response again. Though I considered taking him to BBB & Small Claims Court, I figured it would be a waste of time, and he wouldn't respond. I did get a refund with my bank, but I am still puzzled why Michael played games and didn't settle the issue. This place tore up my car and tried to blame me for their horrible service. First I purchased a battery for which they installed no problem. Then I took vehicle to replacement alternator. It was supposed to take a couple of hours but turned into also a week or so. Michael (owner) explained that they had been attempting to put on the wrong alternator and had to reorder. Then while installing they broke parts (which was not specific) and had to replace parts which I had to pay for. When I finally received my car back it started smoking. I called and explained issue he said it was okay and to bring back. I told he I was afraid to drive but he again said it was okay. I had my mom follow me. He said he ran test and now it was the radiator. He said it was a small leak dripping on pipe causing it to smoke. When I got ready to drive it home it began smoking again so I stopped at Citgo gas station and checked the fluids and there was no fluid in the reservoir. I let car cool and put coolant in and began to drive. I kept watch on pressure to make sure it didn't overheat. I again called Michael and set a date to fix. I drove car to Midas (mom followed) and it was smoking but didn't run hot. I talked to Michael and he said it would be fixed by next day. Two weeks passed I have to call to get updates to find out again they were putting on the wrong part. Then when testing it ran hot several times until it blow off the radiator hose and had to replace parts. Finally I called again and was told the head gasket blew and they couldn't fix it. I explained that there was nothing wrong with the engine prior to me bringing it And I have never had any engine work done since I had the car. I have all the conversations on tape and witnesses. I had to pay to retrieve my truck and have it towed. I truck does not work at all since receiving it back. Michael said it could be fixed (head gasket) for about 2500-3000. His regional manager Eric told me they would fix it for $18,000 dollars. I would never trust them. read more

Everyone please please PLEASE do NOT come to this Midas location for ANY kind of repair!! I came here on July 22, 2024 for an alignment, steering rod replacements, and an oil change. After I left this service, everything was fine until about a week later when I started to notice my steering get really rough. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to make the trip back here because everyone knows mechanics love to find SOMETHING to fix on your car so I made the decision to try and troubleshoot myself. Since then, I've purchased bottle after bottle of "Power Steering Repair" from Walmart and nothing was doing the trick. Last week (10/10/2024) I ran into a nice lady who told me to check out Mante's Auto Shop on Austell Rd and she would pay for the entire expense as she knew I couldn't afford the work and lo and behold, they tell me someone had loosened a hose connected to my engine (pictured below) and all the fluids I had been pouring into my power steering container had been coming right out that hose when I drive. Now my power steering is fixed but my engine is leaking oil (possibly unrelated), I'm experiencing misfires if I accelerate too quickly, and the rubber to my CV axle on the passenger side is completely torn apart due to the excess stress from having no power steering fluid. Today (10/16/2024) I went back to Midas after visiting Mante's auto shop just yesterday (10/15) to explain the situation and Mike the manager says there isn't much he can do because I waited so long to bring it back and all the work that was done to my car was underneath the vehicle and they did nothing but an oil change under the hood. While I understand the argument that most of the work was done under my car, it's very suspicious that I had ZERO issues with my power steering and magically after being serviced at this location, I find that a hose was loosened and I've been leaking fluids all over the place! It's also absurd that this isn't the only review mentioning the lack of professionalism at this location and there are reviews within the last 6 months explaining this. I wish I read the reviews and I wish I had taken my car elsewhere but now I'm stuck with little money and a vehicle ready to give out at any moment. RIP OFF - The quality of work done by this Midas location has to be the worst I've ever come across. I could go on and on about it, but who wants to read all the complaints, just take my word, they charge you so much that you have to finance it, and the interest rate is 149.99%. They charged my daughter $1762 to put on a valve cover "gasket" and they didn't so long story, she went back and they said another $850 to fix it. The approved loan amount was $2500 and they wanted every penny. FOR A VALVE COVER GASKET!!!! $2500 to fix a minor oil leak. Midas Corporate is going to hear from me. read more

Came in for a tune up, alignment, a a repair of an oil leak. Check engine light came on about a month after service. Checked under the hood to find they'd zip tied one of the ignition coils down. Took it back for them to fix the issue they state they'd replace the faulty spark plug and properly secure the ignition coil. The spark plug was fixed but they gave me the run around about removing and replacing the screw they took no ownership but assured be it could be fixed. The spark plug was under warranty but because they figured they could shift the blame about the screw it NEVER DID GET FIXED even though the manager said they would take care of it. I brought my car back at least four different times because the "tech wasn't there" or the manager "wasn't there". I finally gave up and did a charge back in my credit card for a partial refund which was ultimately denied even though I had documentation of every interaction I had with this shop and photos of their crap work. A screw had to have been removed to change the ignition coil. If they cared anything about customer service and educating their clients, best practice would have been to say something if they noticed anything strange whether they thought I knew about it or not. They were the last people to have worked on it and all I was offered was "It could've been us, it could've been someone else". If you could acknowledge there being a possibility of your shop being responsible, why not just fix it and stop playing with my time and yours? I believe I was overcharged and disregarded because I'm a woman. They didn't even take my complaint seriously, one guy was all too happy to try to correct and humble me despite there being an OBVIOUS and VISIBLE issue with the my car being ziptied together. I honestly would give 0 stars if I could. I've lost a lot of money in the past few weeks by going to them. GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SAVE MONEY.THESE ARE UNTRAINED, AND UNPROFESSIONAL TECHNICHANS. I literally had to take my car up there 4 times before it was fixed, and the 3rd time I took it up there; they told me it was my car & not them (refusing to even look at my car). I took it to Honda the same day, and Honda confirmed that the technicians did nearly $1,000 worth of damage to my vehicle. I had to pay Honda $140 for them to fully diagnose the car. The company requested & used the diagnosis, but did not reimburse me for anything. (I will attach it to this review). Once I found out that my car was damaged; I had to go through corporate 3 times!! I still haven't been refunded my $140, and the technicians was completely rude & very conceited. I've never seen such an unprofessional establishment in my life. I was the first customer, my Prius was pulled into the shop bay at 8:45. Less than 15 minutes later my vehicle was on the ground. Fastest oil and oil filter change ever, right? I ask the manager to bring me the used oil filter. He returned stating the oil wasn't change yet. I watch the mechanic drain and refill the oil. It turns out they didn't have the proper tool to remove the oil filter cover, so, they were going to give me my vehicle, charge me just under 75 dollars and send me on my merry way. Had it not been for their inability to produce a filter they would have f**ked me over. I'm waiting for a mechanic to return from purchasing the tool. Good luck with that. I've contacted corporate. So many things. Very disappointed. I called and asked if they do free estimates the guy I talked to said yes. I had two issues, front axle and broken A/C unit. When I get there and they check it out they said the diagnostics was over $100 for both. And I mentioned how they said it was free on the phone and the tech next to the guy at the cashier looked at the computer and said, "Ma'am he's already giving you a deal." They 'fix' the front axle and put dye in the A/C and said bring it back in two weeks. I get home and the front axle is making the same noise. So, did they fix it? I really don't know. Two weeks later I call and make sure they have time to check my A/C. Guy says bring it in on Monday. I show up Monday and he's like I didn't expect you til Tuesday. Whatever, here's my car. I call up on Wednesday since no one is calling me. The tech apologizes and says all of his techs are sick and he's busy (I understand, all good.) I call on Friday and they say my car is lifted and they are looking at it. We then have a long convo about what's wrong with my AC and he confirms the noise I'm hearing in my front axle. I said well you guys fixed it last week. And he says nobody told me that. GRRRRR. Look at your computer - it should tell you the services I was just in for. You should know that YOUR MIDAS MECHANICS fixed my car and what you did to it. Now I'm annoyed. Cut to the following week - no one is calling me. Every time I need to find out about my car I am calling them. Me: "hey what's going on with my car. " Them: "Oh hi yeah so....." So apparently the noise is not their fault and they tell me to go to the dealer (thank you, I appreciate that if it's the truth....Why didn't your mechanics find that noise after the fix and approach me on the next steps??) For my A/C unit they said I need a complete overhaul and said it would be around $2500. I immediately said I'm picking up my car please don't do any work on it. I get there and 7 mechanics are in the front room milling around. They were nice-ish some said Hi and then they meandered away. The front desk clerk who was normally nice to me was very standoffish and not very talkative. I said can you explain exactly what is wrong with my car's A/C? He then just hands me the paper that they usually keep with each owner's keys. On the paper, it says, "Did someone try and give an estimate or "TRY" to sell?" And the answer is NO, which is just poor salesmanship. And no one even bothered to be like hey we can work with you on price or ANYTHING. They didn't even call me to tell me my car was ready for possible work. Cut to me calling a trustworthy mechanic who is SO busy that I scheduled my repair 2 months out. And he quoted me $1400 for the A/C overhaul and said he would look to see if Midas even did fix my front axle. Overall poor communication on their part. I understand if you are busy or sick or lacking good help, but I was without my car for almost 2 weeks without anyone giving me any updates. Also poor communication within their own shop. Everyone I talked to had a different explanation of what was happening. I will not be returning. I think that is obvious. read more

The big white guy that works the front desk has no since of customer service it like he's mad that customers come in because he will actually has to get up and stop watching tv. It was like talking to a brick wall couldn't get a straight answer for anything. Anyway they lie about rotating your tires after asking the man if he rotated them bc I was watching him the whole time he still said he did and had to ask to reset my oil light after bc it was still saying I needed a oil change after he was done hopefully he didn't lie about that too. I am a bit overdue for an oil change. I found a token of appreciation from The Red Cross in my wallet...A card for $9.99 oil change at Midas. I had forgotten about it & accidentally allowed it to expire in 2016. The Fayetteville, GA location is printed on the back, along with other participating Atlanta Midas locations. I called the Fayetteville, GA Midas & spoke with a very polite employee, who politely informed me, they would not honor the expired card. I asked whether that policy was ironclad or at the discretion of the management, to which I was told again, politely, they would not accept the expired coupon. Before concluding the conversation, I informed the very polite employee, I would go elsewhere for my oil change, since pricing would be similar. He politely, could not have cared less. suppressed the urge to remind the employee that, I had bleed for that oil change...LITERALLY!! Being a former District Manager in a service industry, I'm puzzled why a company or it's representatives would choose to lose a new customer's business (hundreds of $$ today & into the future) rather than thinking outside of the box & exceeding that potential customer's expectations. I visited Midas to get assistance removing a lug nut that was stripped and was unable to be removed by a local tire shop. Lee, the manager at Midas was extremely professional when I spoke to him by phone. I arrived shortly thereafter, and Lee had Christian take a look at my issue. Christian quickly went to work and had the completely stripped lug nut removed within 10 minutes. The service was great, but I was even more surprised when I inquired on the cost, and was told there was no charge for the service. Wow, that's great customer service. I'm sure he could've found a way to charge me but to forgo charging me and simply provide the service shows that this shop cares about the community and it's not all about profit. Very disappointed in the level of customer service that I received from the manager, Danny. I purchased tires 2 years ago and recently had a flat. Brought the tire back to the shop since I had purchased a road hazard. They apparently plugged or patched that tire instead of replacing. One month later, here I am on the highway with another flat. When I finally return to the tire shop, the manager seemed nonchalant like usual and told me to calm down. I asked if he would be calm if he had a flat on the highway. I went to have oil change and tire rotation. I was a walk in and they were very accommodating and said they could do it while I waited. 90$ and 30 minutes later I was "ready to go". I looked at my vehicle and the tires did not appear to be rotated (there was break dust buildup still on the front wheels and no evidence that the cover of the lug nuts had been disrupted. I walked back in and asked "hey did the tires get rotated?" And he said "yessir!" I said, "are you sure?" and he again confirmed they had. I was in a hurry so I took him at his word but the more I thought about it, I never heard the impact wrench while I was there. I got home and popped off the lug nut cover and saw that I had lug nuts that require a special "key" to remove them as well as brake dust covered lug nuts. I searched through my glove box and buried in the bottom underneath an accumulation of papers was the special lug socket. Not only did I pay 90$ for an oil change (rip-off) I was lied to not once, but twice when asked about the rotation. I won't be back. Ironically I type this review while I am at another automotive shop (where I hear an impact wrench whirling), paying a second time to have my tires rotated the first time. read more

I made an appoint for a 1pm oil change and when I pulled up on time, there were no spaces in the parking lot. I slowly pulled up to the oil change port in the garage and saw a bunch of employees milling around. I had a coupon, so I was gathering my items and an employee flew out of the office screaming at me and waving his hands like a maniac! His level of aggression was surprising, I've never seen someone fly off the handle at a customer like this. I obviously left immediately and I will never be back. read more

The worst, I will not go back again. I came in for an oil change on my 2015 car. I live 10 mints away and half my oil leaked out by the time i got home because they didnt put a ring on one of my parts. I had to go back for them to fix it & now something else is leaking. I'm taking it to the dealer to see what damage has been done. Furthermore, the wait time was awful - I was there about 3 and a half hours, which does not include my return visit. I went for brake service, they said nothing was wrong with my brakes...ok. I had a barely there leak dealing with my powersteering pump. All of a sudden without them informing me to the fullest extent. I drive 10 mins and power steering fluid is pouring out my car. And when I called and asked if it could have been worsened by what they did they just agreed and got off the phone. Who lets a customer, whose family has trusted Midas for years drive away like that? Needless to say they lost 6 customers within an hour of my bad situation. My heart goes out to them but they need to step it up in customer service again and stops hanging out with. This place is horrible! Not all Midas are horrible but this 'franchise' Midas is the worst. They can't even pretend that they care about the customer! I brought my car in to have the A/C worked on and the manager declared without doubt the problem was due to their being insufficient A/C fluid in the system. You see my car was having issues blowing out cold air. He charged me $150.00. That's right! After only a few days the A/C stops working again but this time he tells me that the issue is (after he really dug deep into the problem, right!) that there is no filter to block debris from entering the A/C unit. He said the last person who worked on it must have never returned it. Problem? He was the only one to have ever worked on the A/C unit. So he said that he can perform a "procedure" involving throwing his hands down the unit and yanking the debris out and replacing the filter which would only cost me an additional $190.00. So then what did I pay you to fix last time? So I declined so I could catch up on the scam he was pulling. I eventually found out that all my engine hard shell covers for my Dodge Caliber were missing. I reported this to Midas but they said they haven't done anything with them. We proved that they did and they said they would replace them. I still haven't received them and it's been more than a week. I took it in again and this time after holding it hostage for 3 days he tells me that the problem was one of the wires on the A/C unit. WTH! Do not trust these people. They are incompetent mechanics but competent crooks. They are bad business! If you do decide to go take pictures of your car, inside and out, so you may have an easier time proving that they stole from you. If you want to avoid the latter - just don't go! If I could have posted just one star then I would have. This place is full of crooks and their district manager is apparently not concerned!!! I took my car there because they have me the best quote on a catalytic converter. After they looked at it the manager, Jason, called me with a $5000.00estimate...I knew that I only had one code in the computer, but he told me I needed all 4 oxygen sensors, 2 of the 4 catalytic converters and a tune up. I spoke to the manager several times as he told me that he'd try to "make" me a better deal...which he was not ever able to. So I started looking for cheaper alternatives...there aren't many people I know with 5k to drop on car repairs. They couldn't, at Midas, tell me which 2 convertors it needed. When I picked up my car, I took it to another shop where the technician immediately scanned it for codes. Only one code, for one catalytic converter. When I called the Midas manager back and requested the district managers name. He acted like they had some nothing wrong. The district manager was about the same. I ended up getting my car fixed for $325. TOTAL!!! Midas is just looking for people to rip off. This used to be a great store when owned by the Smith family. Now that it's a company store it's a total and complete joke. read more
