I have been coming to this particular location of Midas for long time. New management have turn business around for best practice all around. I had front end problem, exhaust manifold cracked and needed front brack job. At shop i met stan out standing human he took care of my car on time, reasonable price, excellent service. He wanted me to drive first before paying, it drove like brand new and i have 287000 miles on my toyota sienna, after driving my engine light came on he explain in detail how my down stream oxygen sensor blown off gave me time to come to shop on Saturday but he call me earlier and fix my car no charge, he also fixed my front end under warranty which i had no idea it was under warranty. 10555 S Post Oak Rd, Houston, TX 77035 Called Saturday 1/15/2022 to schedule an alignment at this location. They did not have time to do it Saturday so I scheduled time off Monday morning and set a 7:30am appointment. I was referred by Rent a Wheel where I purchased new tires. The tire shop doesn't have an alignment machine so they pay this Midas location to performt the post-installation allignments. I arrived on time for my appointment. I was the only person there aside from the person working the counter - the mechanic performing the alignment was not on site yet. When checking in, the counter boy tells me that he wishes "someone" had told me but they can not perform the work until 10:00am if I wanted to use the voucher from Rent a Wheel. Of coarse if I were to agree topay for it myself, I could keep my scheduled appointment. It's not as if anyone else was in front of me.. I took the manager's card and returned to my vehicle and called the customer support number on the company's web site. The service representative contacted the district manager who actively chose to not help resolve the situation by honring the appointment. No further recourse or options were offered. These people do not care about you or your time. They actively tried to get me to pay for services that were pre-paid. The voucher isn't worth the paper it's written on and neither is this company's word - particularly whomever the district manager is. I took my vehicle to a reputable shop that doesn't try to double charge for services and waste custeomers' time. read more

Service is terrible. Don't go here. They will not let you do walk ins! I also came back with an appointment and they said they would be a few minutes. Then they said it would be over an hour and a half before they took my car in. We took my partners car to a Mister and they took the car in writhing 15 min and we were done within the half hour mark. Horrible experience. I went in for an oil change and they ended up breaking the oil cover, and cracked the oil pan because they over tightened the washer. Ended up leaving with $1,000 worth of damage on my car and my cars oil is still leaking after they attempted to fix it the first time and failed. Contacted the manager and he said he could not help me and proceeded to hang up on me in the middle of my sentence. Unbelievably rude customer service. read more

Beyond helpful! I never get this type of service anywhere else! I'm new to Houston and I recently ran over a rusty old tire on a road and totally damaged my tire. I originally went to the closest Firestone (I've been a loyal Firestone customer for years) installed a tire and drove off only to notice the next day I needed an alignment done; in order to drive straight, I had to turn my wheel slightly towards the left. I knew it wouldn't pass the state inspection so I came to this Midas to get an alignment done. I do not know much when it comes to cars and I appreciated the fact that Robert, the manager, showed me exactly what was wrong under my car by taking me into the work area and pointing out the bent control arm along with other bent parts damaged. I came in thinking I only needed an alignment, but I was informed otherwise. He was very friendly and answered all my questions when it came to the repairs. I recommend this Midas to everyone! This is now my go to shop for any of my car needs. They will tell you what's wrong and fix it without trying to take advantage of you! read more

Only problem...the young lady at the counter wasn't wearing a mask...even when I had to go up to speak to her or sign papers. Great customer service. The staff was very friendly but unfortunately the customer service was better than the work and price. I went in yesterday for front and back brake rotors and brake pads and $725 later my car is driving/ stopping the same as it did before my visit. The price is higher than the city average as well which is around $510 but had no choice since I needed them done right away and this location happens to be in the area that I was driving at the time. Please note that the price I paid was after a $50 coupon per axel when I see there is really a $99 per axel discount that should have been applied. I will not be recommending or visiting this location in the future. I don't like when auto shops take advantage of women. read more

Worst customer service I've dealt with, prices are ridiculous charging more than dealerships do. Went in for a simple install and they quoted me for 4 hours at $119 an hour, 2 hours later I get a call saying it's ready but i still have to pay for all 4 hours and end up spending $500. REDICULOUS!! Why do I need to pay for hours of work that weren't done!?!? Called a couple weeks later asking about a quick 30-45 minute fuel pump swap and they wanted $300 just for labor! Not even including the pump! Then I continued to say that was a ridiculous number as I was hung up on. Never going back! read more

That location is running scams to get more money from you when you purchase the Groupon. They tell you that you have to purchase the oil treatment for $20, in order for them to complete the oil change. They are writing lower mileage on the sticker than what's on the odometer , and when you come back for an oil change the odometer appears to have went well 3,000 miles. So they tel you you didn't come back to get one in time so you now have to pay for the oil treatment. When I found my receipt it showed a totally different number from the sticker they placed. Which means to me that if the computer he has and the receipt he printed that I have, should have been more proof than what a dyslexic person could have written on the sticker. But I refused to stay and allow them to touch my vehicle! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! Even if it's FREE SERVICE! read more

I'm in Chicago. My son is at UH and my daughter just moved there with him. I know no auto mechanics and my son's old car (basic school transportation) needed an exhaust and the engine light was on and we needed emissions test for plate stickers and AC, etc. Didn't want to spend a dime more than we had too. These guys are unreal. Honest. Friendly, found the problems and fixed nothing that didn't have to be and shockingly reasonable! They've gained several future loyal customers. The owner of Midas is so friendly. He even drove me home so I didn't have to take a cab. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the other guy that works there is an idiot. He was on the phone for 5-10 minutes before he came to greet me. I almost left, but I had been given such great service the visit before that I waited. He then didn't even listen to me when I told him what was wrong with my car. When the owner called me the next day he wasn't even told the correct problem. The owner was really nice and didn't charge me for the work on my car. It was something really minor anyway. read more

I went in this morning expecting to just get a wheel alignment. However, once my vehicle was lifted I could see how much damage had been done to my tires because of my poor alignment and old struts. I have been looking for an honest mechanic for some time. I need him/her to speak my language & in terminology I understand. I need one to explain why I need something done & to look out for my interest. I found "Sam". He is great. I brought my car, 2007, in for an oil change & he had his mechanic check it out thoroughly. He brought me out & stated the car has had a lot of replacing done, which was great. He also said I had a belt, starting to show wear, said no panic attack needed, but plan to do it in the near future. He looked it up & found a reasonably priced one & replaced it for me that day. went here for a oil change, they damaged my oil plug, they tried to sell me a thread repair which i mentioned it was not leaking, "manager Sam" was raising his voice at me when i was trying to explain to him i'm not paying not something they broke in a calm voice which they did go and fix this at the end....next oil service i come back here again because my oil pan now has been repaired by them...sure enough they mess it up again and now mention i need a new oil pan, "manager Sam" now raising his voice at me while i'm calm and keeping it professional, even asked him can i please have the phone # from the owner or corporate and he just said "Im not giving it to you, you can google it"...someone needs to report this manager, found out this is not the first ocasión with the person raising his voice and being rude to customers...please go to the one off holcome in Houston TX, very different staff..will give them a 5 star read more

Have now had two changes done here, the second because we bought two Groupons together. First one he wouldn't let me present the Groupon certificate, I had to pull it up on the app. I spent 30-45 minutes sitting there as my wife was at work and purchased under her account (to which I didn't have the password). The Groupon didn't state this, but ok, I needed to get it done. Then, stated they wouldn't give a receipt on a Groupon purchase. I was puzzled and asked him about it, and he was clearly unhappy to have to give me one, but ultimately did. The second time my wife took in a 2013 Honda Odyssey. He said that it could only get full synthetic, not the blend. My wife called me saying that he wouldn't do the oil change and that he knew I wrote a review on Groupon. So he called Firestone and a Honda dealer who both told him that semi-synthetic was ok. Seems this would be basic knowledge at a oil change outfit. Manager's name is Sam. Go see Robert at Midas!! My mom highly recommended Robert (who was originally recommended by my Grandpa) to get my car looked at before I made my cross-country move to California. I drive a '95 Toyota Corolla with over 200,000 miles and it's a good little car but needed some serious attention. I've always been skeptical with mechanics (my dad always told me they WILL rip you off!) and never trusted any until I met Robert. You can tell that not only does he really know what he's doing, but he's also a good person and genuinely cares. He was clear about what my car needed, what it didn't (saved me hundreds - Brake Check at 59 and Chimney Rock tried to rip me off big time), got me great prices on parts, and even triple checked my car before my trip. He felt personally responsible to get me to California safely and I did with no problems. I even tried to give him a little extra as a thank you and he refused! Not to mention the times he so nicely offered to drive me where I needed to go while I waited for my car and he's also done the same for my Mom and stepdad (and FAR too!). He is a good mechanic, a good person, and I trust and highly recommend him to everybody. read more

Do not ever use this shady, incompetant repair shop. The timing belt sensor on my car needed to be replaced. When the mechanic called to get authorization for the repair he continuously tried to up-sell me on "cleanings" and services my car did not need. Things like fuel injector cleaning and replacing spark plugs. He claimed my valve seals needed to be replaced. I only authorized him to replace the sensor becuase I can do basic maintenance and there was no emissions test or engine code that indicated anything with my valve seals was in need of repair. This was all over the phone though and not in writing. When the vehicle was repaired and I went to pick it up, he'd charged me for the cleanings and valve seals. He also claims that that I authorized the work. This issue is in dispute; however, the issue of contention pivots on what I verbally authorized the repair shop to do. This mechanic is devious and knew that there would be no recorded evidence of what I authorized, only of the work he performed. To make this situation worse, the individual that conducted the repair broke the metal connection between my alarm and the ignition system and tried to hide the mistake. Since I found this problem out a month later, the repair shop claimed I had broken my own alarm connection. That's what I do with my free time, break my own car so I can argue with disreputable repair shops. This mechanic's dishonesty did not stop there. They disingaged my air conditioner so that would stop working, my belief is so that I would return the vehicle for more "repairs" and unauthorized work. If you use this repair shop, I believe they will use similar deception to steal your money and harm your vehicle. read more

Called in to ask for help on switching out an old CAT converter. Person on the phone suddenly changed his tone of voice when I said I bought my own CAT. He pretty much said no to me. I did not know that i needed to buy their CAT for their service. And plus that was not the only reason I was going for. I guess my point is if you want to spend an arm and a leg go to midas. Lucky i bought my CAT for 166$ compared to Oreilly and Autozone - 224$ (Magnaflow) went to a small shop the owner was very polite and pretty much talked to me while they worked on my car. read more
