Very long story but shirt version. Picked up my winter tires because past experience was not allowing me to ever let them touch my car again with over 5hr waits with appointment and told a pile of BS things that were wrong with my car. Got a call from place doing my tires that I had 3 of my own tires and one of someone else's and a summer one at that. It has been a complete nightmare trying to get my tire back from them and the wrong one picked up. I wanted them to del it to me because I live half hr away and it was there screw up after all. As others have mentioned BRAD the manager is a complete joke. I fear I am never going to get my tire back. Reports to head office and better business have been sent. Went in asking for an AC repair/refill and radiator replacement. Brad (the mechanic) assured me there was no leak in the AC along with any other issues related to the AC. Refilled the AC unit with refrigerant. Next day, dropped the truck off for radiator replacement. Once rad was completed, wen to pick up the truck. AC didn't work. Alex (the guy behind the front desk) told me there must be a leak and that Id have to schedule another appt to have it serviced. I bring the vehicle to Canadian Tire for them to immediately tell me that there's a dead bird in the condenser and that they didn't even need to do a dye test because the dye they seen with the black lights was from midas. I'm left to believe given the information above, that Brad went to test his work, hit a bird, and didn't want to fix the issue he made. Did I mention I paid for all the AC issues as if they were fixed but am left without working AC? Unethical business practices, lack of accountability, no pride in their work. Who runs this place? Whomever it is, they should look themselves in the mirror and give their heads a shake. I have contacted head office. read more

I had made an online appointment for an oil change. This was my first experience with Midas. People need to know this: apparently online appointments aren't "real" appointments! I arrived at 10:15 for my 10:30 appointment only to find they were booked through to approximately 11:00 with appointments made in the shop. I decided to wait. Yes, I got in around 11:00 and was out in a "normal " amount of time. Their hard sell that others have mentioned wasn't really all that hard. The advisor that I dealt with ( Alex) was actually quite pleasant to deal with. He explained the recommended repairs in a courteous manner and let it go at that. Because of my excessive time spent in the waiting area I had the opportunity to listen to both advisors interact with customers. Alex was always great, the other guy ( Brad), not so great! Someone at Midas has the wrong guy running that particular show. Will I go back? I really don't know. The screwed up appointment left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. My interactions with Alex were great. I expect a " hard sell" whenever I go to places like this - their hard sell wasn't nearly as obnoxious as some I've experienced elsewhere. read more

Figured out what was wrong and fixed it in a timely manner... Very friendly staff awesome mechanics . Charged me for what they did, the time they spent and the parts they ordered,I'd recommend them to anyone!! Left Midas a happy customer thank you guys again won't go anywhere else. read more

Will never go to Midas again on gardeners Road person on the courtesy desk very rude and pushy had an appointment for summer Tires to be installed and winter tires taken off after sitting there 2 hours and getting an estimate of over $1,300 for repairs on the car told us could not find summer Tires when they did we elected to pick the tires up and have them installed by someone else after picking up the tires we found one of the tires flat with a puncture hole cannot prove anything but tires were in good shape when taken off last fall read more

Do not go to Midas on Gardiners Road if you want to be treated badly and given the run around. They could not get a hold of a part my car needed, which I understood, and I wanted to work with them. However, did not return my calls when they were suppose to nor keep me informed. Moreover, the manager, Brad, specifically (BEWARE). An example, I was in there and i turned around to ask a question and I was dismissed. Four other customers waiting in the waiting room actually apologized to me because they were horrified that he treated me that way and embarrassed that they had to see it. For 7 months my Q7 sat on the Audi Kingston repair lot for a coolant leak which ended up resulting in massive charges to other things that they recommended to fix, and still the leak could not be found. Matthew at Midas on Gardeners Rd was the only mechanic in Kingston and Toronto that actually gave a detailed explanation of where the leak was coming from and why no one, not even Audi would attempt to repair the leak in precise detail. He was able to give me the information to decide weather to continue sinking money into the SUV or to sell it. I would highly recommend Matthew and Brad to everyone with trust and honesty that you just don't come across in the mechanic industry. read more

Booked an alignment a week ago for today at 10:30am was told they were busy and asked to leave my car for the day. Returned at 5pm with no call back from Midas and the job not even started! They said sorry tire season! I had to take the day off work and booked this appointment specifically. Thanks for wasting my time with no communication! Absolutely terrible service! Be very careful going to Midas. We were very disappointed at the hard upsell during the safety check required to buy out the lease of our car. The car is only 3 years old, has 15,000km and yet the service technician said it needed a full brake job at a cost of almost $800 because there was rust on the pads. After hearing the explanation from the service advisor about how they must meet the standards set by the province, we took the vehicle to a service garage we trust (who couldn't do the safety as the owner had been injured and they were swamped but after our treatment at Midas, fit us in and what a surprise, the car passed the inspection). Checking the provincial Reference handbook, it clearly states that surface rust is normal and not grounds to fail an inspection. Midas' position was that they were just following the guidelines, but in our opinion they were exaggerating the level of rust to justify charging for a brake job. Go elsewhere for service!! read more

I went to this location last saturday morning to get my battery replaced and called ahead to confirm pricing and confirmed twice that they had the exact battery needed for my year, make and model. When I arrived as a young woman the gentleman told me they would show me the reader that tells you if your battery actually needs to be replaced. After 30 minutes of waiting, a man came to the back to tell me they didn't have my battery on site and would need to go get one from another store down the road and that the price would be increased but they would "add a coupon to offset the cost". I found this suspicious and asked to see my bill overview. The price had increased from what they told me and there were extra charges titled "materials" when the only material I was receiving was the battery. When I asked about these extra charges he quickly eliminated them saying "oh sorry they can be changed" and "it was a mistake". I had caught them over charging me. Then I was told I would have a 4 year warranty on my battery and I asked for paperwork to which I was told that there was none. I received a hand-written note stating "four year warranty". I am pretty disappointed with this service. I hope this company can re-evaluate their customer service because this seemed like a strategic story to charge me extra costs! read more

I have been going to Midas Gardiners Rd Kingston for a few years now. Teena Slate is the greatest to deal with. She is speedy easy to talk to and never makes you feel rushed. She explains everything that is happening with my vehicle that the garage may have found with their inspection. The atmosphere is very comfortable.
