I would recommend to any charity looking for decent budget space. It was a smaller cozy place, good for less than 60 people standing including 20 people or so sitting. The venue was safe and clean space for us to use. It was easy to setup and put things back when it was time. On to the owner of the space -- I felt that Nyssa, went above and beyond to make sure the event was a success! She was helpful with all details, prompt and great to work with. She is a very kind and down to earth person who cared about our efforts in this event. In the future I hope to host another SAAM event. Of course, if need to a venue like this again, being it's not booked up. Nyssa's The Living Art Gallery will be my go and the main place I'd ever recommend to anyone in need of a venue. The location is fittingly, in the heart of the growing graffiti district amongst work by Space Invader and Buff Monster. Their building is covered with giant murals. As you walk upstairs to the retail store there are two doors - to the left you'll find canvas, paper, panels, stretchers and framing. To the right you'll find all your paints, pens, brushes and supplies. The neighborhood needed a resource like this and anything that would have opened would obviously fulfill this need but Soho brings its own personality and flare. On my last visit I went in for some paint markers and a small ruler, basic yes but my options were endless. Although very familiar with what j was looking for, once amongst all the great options I became indecisive. Luckily Rebecca the clerk was overly helpful and very knowledgeable. When the one thing I was looking for wasn't there she offered to have what I needed sent to the store for my pickup tomorrow. She even offered to call when it arrived. Service is key and theirs is great! While choosing some small boards on the opposite side I watched one of the workers stretching a large 6 foot by 8 foot linen canvas. So not only do they offer all the canvas building tools necessary for your art, they also provide services such as this. You can order any custom piece, from odd oversized canvases to oval or triangular, anything you want. All done with care and precision. Another amazing selling point for Soho is they offer their own line of supplies. They have custom acrylic paints and mediums, such as, linseed oil, turpentine and varnish. And are offered in quantities from small to gallon sized jugs. If your an artist or just looking to explore Your hidden creativity, this is a perfect place to find tools and supplies, plus the walk through the the art covered streets is a great inspiration.

This store has really decline lately. There is only one cashier and multiple self-checkout kiosks…read morethat don't honor coupons. Even if the coupon says "Use in store and online", I was told by an employee, they don't honor them in that particular store, unless you go to the cashier. since there is only one, you have to wait to use your coupon. I witnessed another customer try to get her 20% discount for applying to the Michael's credit card. After completing the entire process and getting approve, the cashier told her "We don't honor that policy at this location." Lastly, they don't properly label prices. Beads labeled at $8- $10 on the display ring up at $11- $14 at checkout. This didn't happen once, but the last 6 times I visited this store. it's disappointing that for this being the only arts and crafts store in the area, after putting smaller stores out of busines, that they operate like this. On google the price hikes are blaming inflation and tariffs but Michael's charges $21 dollars for Ranger ink pads, when they are $14 at Ranger's own website.
