They often get to know you and are willing to help individually if needed. I also appreciate the mix of online and on campus classes the school provides. The online classes help add some flexibility to the hours spent on campus and help you work with a job and school at the same time. If you are thinking of Running Start or of just going after high school or going back to school later in life, this is a great opportunity right in your backyard. It is affordable and the level of education is well worth it. I highly recommend Skagit Valley College!

Both turned out absolutely delicious and instructions were very clear - I actually feel comfortable recreating these at home. Our instructor was Cat, who was extremely knowledgeable and kept the class going at a great pace. I also really liked her humor! I found her jokes super funny and she kept me engaged, never bored. We got to sample lots of the instructor's bread at the end of class and took home our own breads, which were HUGE. Plenty to share with family and I froze some too.

The problem was the instructor, Leah Starr, who was consistently rude and condescending. On our way home afterward, my daughter asked, "what was wrong with her?" No idea - no one in class acted out of turn or caused problems. It was very unprofessional. Unfortunately, when I followed up with the school to ask, they said you're not able to find out the instructor's name in advance, which is enough for us not to take a chance on going back.

Our son has acquired…read morea great set of friends, sprouted quite a vocabulary, maintained a great relationship with his teachers, and most importantly had a wonderful time. In being new to the area, my wife and I really appreciate the openness of the school, the innovation in the working garden, natural surroundings/playground, and classroom activities. For us as parents, we've met quite a lot of really interesting people with similar interests. For us as a family, we feel that Burlington Little School is a great fit for us.

They have always been supportive of our schedules, worked super hard during all of the Covid mandates, provided many different food options which helped our kiddos try new things and worked hand in hand to help with potty training our 3 year old. I am constantly amazed with what they learn, knowing numbers, colors, shapes, how plants grow, singing songs and having very active imaginations. Currently pregnant with our 3rd and cannot wait for him to be old enough to attend this location as well. I have always recieved a response before the time I need it and they will call you with any concerns to keep you updated. Even when my daughter was having an off day and just wasn't her normal self they let us know and kept me in the loop.

We were told by 2 staff members that they were short staffed and had to merge classes in the afternoons. Sadly, it took our daughter being bit on the chest for us to withdraw that very day! Labelled items are lost. The building smells of poopy diapers at any hour of pick up. Info appt conveniently scheduled during nap time so you don't see/smell the inside of the building. Our daughter screamed every time we would pull up, barely napped and didn't eat the entire day. If we had known this PRIOR to enrolling, it would have spared us lots of headaches and stress. The owner is one of the hardest people to communicate with, although she REPEATEDLY stated "communication is very important to us." Messages not returned, but she would spend all day sending lengthy emails (with the snotty, condenscending tone) then state "I didn't have a chance to hear your voicemail." A couple of nice volunteers greeted us and told us about the gardens. They're maintained by "master gardeners" all volunteers. There are 20+ immaculate gardens of all types to enjoy. We wandered through the gardens and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely a hidden gem in Mt Vernon.

While attending the Greenbank Organic Farm School on Whidbey Island, we went on a couple trips to…read morethe WSU Extension. I've been to the Small Grains Field Day, a tomato grafting class, a tour of the facilities, and a community discussion on the Slow Food movement (all different occassions). Anyways, this place is great. Such an amazing place to learn and get connected with the local farming community. You can walk through beautiful gardens, have a picnic on the lawn, attend interesting classes. All-around fun place for the academic, or the family.
