I can't be any more honest or direct about the impeccable quality of health care Four Counties Hospital Health Services ( Dr.'s and nurses ) provides! The health staff is very devoted to caring and tending to the patients physical health needs, They are very informative in having the patient understand as well as the families ,of what's being done what's been done and why!
They clearly do their Professionally jobs adequately and sufficiently ,,,and go beyond, they clearly love their jobs and their personal attitude with the environment they are in, and with their attitudes in that frame of mind, patients are treated with respect and care! The Hospital has a different aurora about it then any other hospital i have every been too, either as a patient or a family member/visitor... its calming, its siren its a place to get well again!
For a grade 1 Hospital, as its referred to (low grade)in a small community , the grade 2 (larger hospital) in the nearest city doesn't even compare let alone come close to the amazing prompt and immediate care of their patients! Physically, mentally and emotionally all 3 elements of well being are present, the families see it and the patients feel it, The health care team is outstanding
On-top of the infected blood ,that was present, the cause unknown after ten days! My brothers condition wasn't getting better it was getting worse and no answer as to why, what was causing it, and the poor care at the grade 2 level Hospital, the reason he left was warranted by him to sign himself out!
I can contest as well as numerous family friends, also witnessed the poor care( Neglect) unprofessional attitude of the staff and the lack of care on fourth floor of Chatham-Kent Health alliance gave my of my own brother who was not only rushed by ambulance, their but was a patient for ten Days!
Without getting into great detail- about his experience, as well as seeing the neglect all these patients were experiencing by some staff, on that floor and the lack of insight and action or treatment etc.
My brother blood disorder and what was causing it and his health issues and the influenza in the Chatham Health alliance hospital was a concern, anyone interring his room (Curtained bed area) of that ward, visitors, family, doctors and nurses had to gown up, wear gloves and a mask and disrobe, before leaving the room! Even for a minute!
This was to protect the patient, and other patients! its called sterile!! Taking extra precautions not to infect other patients with already weakened immune systems, on top of new and unknown health issues that brought them to the hospital and admitted
I personally witnessed his nurse that morning, enter, and handle my brother, without putting a mask, gown on!
what's even more disturbing is she wasn't wearing gloves when she was handing my brother, went to the patient right next to him (She Did Not,) and I repeat did not wash her hands or use sterilizer, before attending to that gentleman!
I thought omg, how many patients before, had she done this prior to attending to my brother, on top of that she verbally voiced she didn't want to come to work that day! had an abrupt uncaring disposition in front of not only the patient, but with me present!
Yet this one particular nurse, on day shift, his condition got worse, not better! To the point as sick as he was, he felt if he stayed he was going to die, and he signed himself out, after 10 days ,went home, with the attitude if hes going to die, heed rather die at home!
less then 48 hours, he was taken to four counties hospital,
They found he was( eternally bleeding inside), which had to be the cause of his white blood cells being high immediate blood transfusions, a scope the following day, which seen a bleeding ulcer, treated that and with the professional health care he received at four counties within two days, my brothers health (white blood count) came back to normal, sugar levels down, to normal and his legs were being treated properly!
They treat the patients with dignity and respect and they do their jobs with diligence appropriately, and caringly, because thats what nurses and doctors should be doing is Taking care of the patient on all levels
Four counties Hospital is truly all about the welfare and best interest of the patients, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed the quality of care that my brother did receive! He's being discharged as we speak, and from his own mouth, he hasn't felt this good in over two years, let alone after the prior experience 12 days before being admitted to four counties Hospital
from the bottom of my heart with great gratitude I extend my appreciation to those health care workers at Four counties Hospital
I cant thank the doctors and the nurses, physiotherapist enough for their prompt and attentive professionalism and the prompt action they took finding the problem, diagnosing it and in caring appropriately for their patient!
