There is currently an active DPH investigation into the Beit Paley Center for gross negligence due…read moreto their failure to meet the most basic standards of patient care and consent. Do not send your children here!!! My child was a patient from January through June of 2025 and we were never allowed to appropriately consent to her provider's being an intern/supervisor team. We never even knew that the individual providing treatment was an unlicensed intern as opposed to a fully licensed clinician. The intern, Genesis Ramon, held herself out as independently licensed through complete and total omission of credentials, supervision level, and authority scope. She did not involve her supervisor once we raised concerns regarding safety and well-being of our child, which Connecticut law mandates interns to do. Clinical attestation by the supervisor, Angel Roubin, occurred retroactively. Anywhere from weeks to almost 2 months after appointments. I pulled her from treatment after Genesis agreed to a treatment plan which was too directly involve us only to completely and totally shut us out. She does not care about patients and only cared about getting her degree and using our child as a guinea pig.

I've been in other medical facilities and never witnessed this type of response. I was truly knocked off my feet. The genuine care that was presented through every step every staff member turning my wife over to the next staff member was complete information from one to the other. Took the time to speak and handoff to the next person with controlled urgency. Witnessing all of this was truly comforting for me cause right then I knew she was going to get the best possible care that one establishment could give. So far 17 days and not one little issue with her care. I cannot be more grateful for every staff member starting with the guard at the front entrance all the way to the doctors, maintenance it goes on and on. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of my beautiful wife and giving me a sense of calmness that cannot be bought it is just given and received with a genuine understanding.

From common illnesses to minor injuries and pediatric needs, we provide care for the whole family. " My experience? While your medical team was great (the only reason for the 2 stars)- the woman at the front desk was RUDE. Clearly, she upset at having to stop her conversation to help a patient. She asked me if I made a reservation, and when I said I didn't, she just pointed at the tablet. When I went to sign in, I then opted on the tablet to continue to do the insurance portion on my phone, at which point she yelled over to me that I didn't need to do all of it. I was literally following directions. When she called me up, without even looking at me said- "sign there (on a blank signature pad), and you have a $100 copay" and just held out her hand. I asked her what I was signing and she stated "permission to treat you and bill you". I asked, "can I see what I am signing before I sign it?" and she pointed to an 8.5x11 document about 10,000 words long in a frame on a desk and then again said "$100 copay" and held out her hand. So, I asked her for a printed copy, as NO ONE should be expected to just sign something blindly. She acted like I was insane for asking and sat there until I signed- and only then did she provide me with a terrible copy that was clearly not meant to be legible in any way for the patient to understand. It had lines thru it and looked like it had seen better days. The font was tiny and blurry. At no point during our interaction had this woman uttered a polite greeting or friendly word, or even made eye contact. I was in Urgent Care for an urgent medical reason, and she could not have cared less. To her, I was an annoyance interrupting her story about a Barbie Blanket. I mean that sincerely. That is what the staff was talking about when she pointed me over to the tablet so she could keep on chatting. She made an already stressful experience even worse. I paid my copay, my insurance paid you more- the least you can do is hire someone who actually cares about patients to greet them. If you don't like people, maybe don't work in an environment when you will see people all day who aren't feeling at their very best.

Some of my most…read morememorable experiences with Dr. Byrd include her general attitude towards my concerns with my first pregnancy. Dr. Byrd would speak to me in a scolding manner and accuse me of not eating simply because I had not gained much weight by my 5th month of pregnancy. Mind you I am a respectable grown woman at the time with a long term full time office career and health insurance.. So I can't even say she was judging me for my lifestyle. I also had frequent occurrences of blacking out in public while walking. She would literally laugh at me and tell me it was normal and act annoyed if I would mention it again at the next appointment. Come to find out I actually had a heart condition (Supaventricular Tachycardia) that was later diagnosed when I relocated to another state at 8 months pregnant. Dr Byrd would also take sonograms and keep the best ones for her file only giving me the absolute worst distorted print outs of my unborn child.. My child was perfectly healthy and she didn't seem to need them for clinical purposes.. She would just smugly file them away in a folder. On 4th of July weekend of that year I contracted salmonella poisoning and was vomiting and had diarrhea and a high fever and could not eat or drink for 3-4 days. I got scared and called the oncall # for advice like any pregnant woman would. Dr Byrd called me back from a BBQ and literally scolded me and spoke to me like a livid mother for bothering her on the holiday. She actually said"I can't believe you would disturb me over the holiday for THIS?!". I am so glad she did not deliver my baby. I have nothing good to say about my experience with her.

Front desk started socializing on irrelevant matters to some man who walked in. Laughing and joking about vacations. Unprofessional behavior. Still coughed like crazy. No sympathy. At least 15-20 minutes passed. Finally, got in the waiting room. Good check-up though, but later found out that there were about 2 other things I had on top of a fever. Paid out of pocket. Forgot my insurance card. Later came back a different day, brought my card back in, tried to get it----wasted several hours of precious time. Contacted my insurance and they had a 20 minute conversation with the people at the front desk. Still haven't gotten my reimbursement. They gave a relative of mine a VERY hard time as well, and he was helping out an elderly person. My aging relative had to go back and forth, repeatedly, just to accommodate a person that was sick. They need to step up their service standards. BIG TIME. Not fair. If sick people are coming to you, you got to do your very best to take care of them as best as possible and not look out for profits. Very simple. People are suffering right now in the economy. Is it really that hard simply to give a person a reimbursement after they got their insurance? Is it really necessary to gossip in the front desk when people in front of you are suffering?

He didn't want to start a conversation because, I'm sure he figured that I won't be back.
