Whenever I come to this office their staff is very friendly and helpful. There is never a wait time. Dr. Marchitto made a great first impression. He is caring, kind, shows concern, knowledgeable and does not make your time with him feel rushed in any way. He made me feel comfortable and safe with the small office procedures he had to perform on my face. I hope he may always be my provider!! They will accept you as a Medicare patient with secondary Medicaid until they run your insurance two hours before your appointment and discover you have QMB and drop you like a hot potato because they are MONEY DRIVEN. Despite the fact that they accept Medicare they don't want QMB patients because that prevents them from billing that 20%! Therefore that's when they will then call you and point out they "don't accept Medicaid" even though Medicare is PRIMARY! Sounds like a provider I would not want to see, anyway if they care that much about money over a person's well being! Very unethical and disappointing. read more

This office operates unlike any other I've ever experienced. Providers just randomly take days off without anyone letting you know. Then you show up and you don't have an appointment, even though you know you did! Then they just randomly make an appointment for you without verifying you can make that appointment and charge you when you don't show up for an appointment you didn't even know you had!! Twice now we've had appointments scheduled only to be told we don't have an appointment when we show up at the office. I give up. Whoever is running this office needs to be fired! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I booked an appointment over 6 weeks out with an MD, I was told I had to wait that long for an MD. One week before the appointment, I received an email confirming I had an appointment with an APRN- no prior notice that my provider changed. I reviewed the APRN profile and determined I would never have chosen to book with her. I called office and was told that my provider changed, no other options provided. read more

I have been a patient of this practice for about a year and have been extremely satisfied. The first visit they scanned my insurance and ID cards which is common practice and any bills to meet my annual insurance deductible are promptly paid...nobody has ever asked for any credit info. I receive very polite, competent and prompt service for every visit. No doctor visit is fun but Central CT Dermatology makes it as pleasant as a doctor visit can be. read more

As with other patients, I booked an appointment with an MD. The office confirmed with a PA, I called and was told if you want an MD the wait will be longer. I waited one year to get an appointment and was seen by a PA. Guess what? the rash is gone. She tells me "When it comes back call and I will see you the day you call." I asked her if she was serious? She said, "I promise I will see you here the day you call". The rash is back; I call for an appointment and was told I have to wait two more days and go to South Windsor!! Oh, and don't try to treat the rash. So that's five days of rash itch. I have no co-pay and the still demand a credit card on file. You cannot deny them having your card either because they will not let you see the PA if you don't. I'm happy for the people that have had a wonderful experience with this office and don't mind having non bonded people copying their cc. Obviously, my experience has not been a good one. One last thing, please let the young people behind the glass windows in Cromwell know the one person (me) in your waiting room can still hear you. read more

I have been here multiple times for treatment after having a very bad experience elsewhere. I was treated by Jennifer Silva, and I felt she did an excellent job diagnosing and treating my concern. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews, but they came recommended by a trusted dr. I am very pleased by the quick treatment and resolution to my problem. I'm 68 years old & never in my entire life was I asked for credit/debit information from a Provider - even St Francis Hospital after open heart surgery in 2022. This provider required this info or I could not be seen - even knowing I'm on Medicare. I walked out. It's so sad that greed comes before patient care. read more

I've never been to a doctors where the Appointment times are not honored. The front office staff is unconcerned or unable to communicate with patients about their expressed needs. It's never good when you are told you are only "fit in" to a doctors schedule and not a meaningful, planned appointment, of which you booked 2 months in advance and took a day off from work to attend. Dr. Whalen and nurses/assistants are very friendly and helpful. Dr. Whalen is a very good practitioner. Communication of information about procedure and progress during procedure very good. Only complaint I have is they need to be better trained in infection prevention which is why I give them 3 instead of 5 stars. I have NEVER seen any of them wash or sanitize their hands between patients or before and after procedures. I am a Healthcare worker in a hospital and the expectation is we ALWAYS wash or sanitize going into a patient room and when leaving the room. Wearing gloves does not excuse us from hand hygiene between patients. This really needs to be addressed at this medical practice. read more

I had mohs surgery at Central Connecticut Dermatology and about 10 days later I noticed a piece of monofilament sticking out of the wound. When I called to report this the receptionist blew me off and they did not address my issue so now I have this thing sticking out of my wound and don't know what to do. I would not recommend this company and would stay away from them as once your surgery you are on your own if you have issues. read more

Wow, I should have read the reviews first! Do not go here. I have been to Central CT Dermatology now twice for full body skin cancer checks. I've been to three other dermatologists in the past for this same thing and full body skins checks have typically taken between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the place, as they all were extremely thorough and examined everything very closely. This place took literally no more than five minutes both times. This most recent second time I went (and only because it's close to my home and I hadn't found a good alternative place yet), the tech who got me started asked me if I had any areas of specific concern that the doctor should look at during the exam. I mentioned five spots. (I'm Irish and frequently burned and blistered my skin as a young person.) They also asked me if I had a family history of skin cancer. I told them yes that there was a big history of squamous cell cancer but no melanoma. After the exam, which took about five minutes, I tried bringing up my specific areas of concern. The doctor told me that I was only there for a skin check and that any other specific issues I wanted to discuss needed to be on a separate visit and wouldn't let me talk about them. (It hadn't even been 10 minutes that she was in the room yet!) I was so confused. All the areas I wanted her to look at were part of my skin so why would they not be included in full body skin check?! She then further said that I (a 50 year-old Irish girl with a family history of skin cancer) did not have to come back for two years because I had "no history of skin cancer in the family and no skin issues." I'm confused and horrified by all this. I told myself last time I would never go back but I thought I would give them another chance. NEVER AGAIN OMG. read more

Buyer Beware! This medical practice adheres to unethical and very questionable policies bordering on fraud. They are forcing patients, even if fully insured, to not only provide a credit card to be kept on file, but now forcing patients to enroll in autopay based on a verbal authorization. If they are collecting the copay at the time of visit then there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to require my confidential financial information be stored in their system. No disclosures are provided; no documented information regarding privacy practices with regards to protecting identity available. Couldn't even tell me if they are PCI compliant. The very rude receptionist claimed the payment policy was disclosed to me prior to my appointment, which was at outright lie because it was not. I have seen MANY reviews since my appointment with lots of horror stories about this practice. The doctors may be good at medical care, but they are lousy at managing their business. read more
