My son is high functioning autistic so we never know how he's going to be... especially with a doctor he's never seen before. Dr. Brett was so good with him. He even brought out a giant stuffed dog and let my son brush the dog's teeth. He put sunglasses on him so the lights wouldn't bother him as well. This was the firdt time my son didn't throw a tantrum at an appointment. Would definitely recommend Dr. Brett to anyone!!!

Our 4 year old was complaining of tooth pain so we brought him in for an emergency appointment. He…read morestill wouldn't sit for the x-rays, not liking to bite down on the block. The dental assistant seemed irritated by this and brief with us. The assistant then concluded that his six year molars were just coming in early. Then the dentist came in and said, "I am 99% sure I know what this is." He looked in my son's mouth for maybe less than 10 seconds, and was like, "Yup it's his six year molars." I had noticed there were dark spots on his molars, but since the dentist had taken a look, I assumed he knew what he was doing. He advised I give him Motrin for the pain of his six year molars coming in. Over two months later, we're back at the office for a cleaning and once again my son wouldn't sit for x-rays and, once again, they seemed irritated and short with us. The dentist then looked again in my son's mouth for 5 seconds and said he had at least one massive cavity that would need a root canal, and told us to go to a different dental practice. Fast forward, after going to another practice, it turns out he had 7 cavities! Two teeth needed caps and root canals. No six year molars. Bottom line, Dr. Dierna's practice gave us bad information based on a guess and not science. They essentially had me giving my son Motrin to mask the pain from his cavities rather than do their jobs or refer us to the place that could actually ascertain the facts. They failed to make the right choice for the patient, a child. The elapsed time it took from the day they insisted it was his six year molars coming in early to the day they said to go elsewhere for the big cavity was over two months. More than two months of delayed care only served to make his cavities grow worse and worse, and now we will never know what pain could have been prevented had we not listened to their bad advice.

Primarily, he did my crowns that I am ultimately going to do over, just a year later, which I am dreading going through this process yet again. My six front teeth are actually crooked (angled), which changed the shape of my face slightly, are too yellow, and affected my bite where one side of my back teeth no longer connect, which he denied many times. He even suggested that I perhaps am not remembering my bite correctly. The teeth are too large/long, especially where they now connect in the middle, which is what ultimately affected my bite, which has since been validated. Additionally, the last time I was there for my cleaning, he held a staff meeting - in the waiting room - that ran over into my appointment by close to 20 minutes, and he unapologetically sent myself and one other patient out in the cold (it was January). The front desk apologized for the inconvenience, however Dr. Schor did not and stated "you need to wait, we are in a meeting."

I searched for "Best Dentist" near me and found Bella Dental. Dr. Michael Alkon & Dr. Alex Shor immediately met with me and thankfully, the pain was soon gone. Dr. Alkon took an X-ray, explained what was necessary and performed the word that we as patients all fear. Root Canal! All I can say is that the procedure was painless, pleasant, and I really appreciate their bedside manner, confidence, and most of all, that I had selected the right practice for my dental emergency. Thank you Dr. Alkon
