Mid first bank in Ahwatukee, the manger is an extremely racist , lazy, rude, heffer. she should be fired! When visa was going to recover the $3000 that independent motorcycles stole from me , she called visa and told them to cancel the claim, then told me ,"do you expect her bank to just give you money"?she did not even have a clue what had happened! This was after one of the good bank employees had spent days helping to recover stolen funds. Visa had already verified fraud and was going to recover funds. read more

Do NOT do business here. They are horrible. I have attempted to open up a new account and close one for well over month. I have spent no less than 3 hours over 4 different visits in this bank. Midfirst, and banks like them are the reason why folks are going to online banks. Customer service is a thing of the past. It is unnecessary arduous and without resolve. 0 stars is more appropriate than 1 star. I started banking here when I was 16 years old. My stepfather owned his own business and did most of his banking through Midfirst. More recently, he has moved states and had to switch banks due to there not being any branches where he lives now. As soon as he closed his account, my personal experience with Midfirst took a turn for the worst. A very noticeable decline in customer service was an early warning sign, and to this day I have a sour taste in my mouth about this bank. In addition, the overdraft fees are astounding. If you ever think you might get in a rough patch, just know this bank is in the business of profiting off of that. During a transitional period where I wasn't working steadily and was in the process of moving for a promotion, I was charged around $300 in the span of 2 weeks. I understand that I am at fault for going in the red in the first place, but imagine working 60 hour work weeks to get back on track only to be told that at best they could waive $60 in fees. When I expressed displeasure and a desire to move banks due to this, I was told by the branch manager named Steve that they wouldn't even waive the $60. Another point to bring up is infrastructure (ease of use with mobile app, technology implemented to make banking more convenient). I think this bank sells itself as having a more customer oriented feel in exchange for worse infrastructure compared to bigger banks. In my recent experience, it's the worst of both worlds. I feel the weight of financial stress being exacerbated by worsening banking experiences lift off my shoulders as I move towards any other establishment. read more

i wanted to start a checking account. The teller told me to wait in the lobby by the furniture. I waited 10 minutes maybe more. I noticed at least 6 employees and no customers other than me. The staff was enjoying themselves and talking about personal things. Lots of laughing and chit chat. I concluded they don't need my business. Customers come last at this bank, so I left. The architecture inside is very nice, the staff not so much. read more

We have never before in any of our past banking experienced the high level of professionalism, courtesy and kindness provided by the staff at the 760 W. Ray Road, Gilbert, Arizona branch. The friendly and efficient manager, Frank Portillos, has always gone out of his way to personally assist us in successfully untangling a number of tricky financial challenges over these years. He always smiles and greets us by our first names as we enter the branch office. We intend to bank at MidFirst - and at whatever branch Mr. Portillos is managing - for the rest of our lives. I have been with this bank for many years (8+) and have loved it but when I ask for something... aka a car loan with a great credit score they turn me down. Not what I was wanting and have since left this bank and took my business elsewhere. Not a good way to treat a loyal customer. read more

I opened my account at this location 3 months ago but have had the same stellar service at every location I've visited. This excellence is no accident and MUST be company wide. This bank is family owned and it shows in the quality of service. Everyone is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I'm greeted with GENUINE smiles and pleasant attitudes every time I go in. Upon opening my account, my debit/Visa card showed up on time and I activated it by calling the customer service number. Even the phone representative was super friendly and pleasant. I do online banking and direct deposit. Have never had an issue with the website nor with the deposits not being posted correctly/on time. I opened my account while they were having a promotion and the incentive money was promptly paid as promised. I thought "well I guess the honeymoon's over" and expected a decline in service. I am happy to say I was wrong. I still continue to receive first class service. The bank locations are very clean with higher end interior design. Convenient hours. This is banking like it should be. Other businesses could use this bank as a perfect business model. Oh yes.......very very FEW fees (other bank ATMs and those are refunded at the end of the month!). read more

The bank is just an average Bank my problem however is their app. Their banking app is absolute crap never have I had to deal with such a crappy app that continuously locks you out. The app doesn't allow your iPhone to save the password if it does it only works at quarter of the time. I'm so frustrated with this app I will probably close my account. read more

I have had very bad luck with service from the manager's at this branch over the last couple of years (I've been a customer since 2010); especially Frank as of late. My go to is Shea; she is wonderful, but as for management here - good luck. I won't go into boring detail, but suffice to say my needs were not met from an issue that was supposed to be resolved 2 months ago and Frank refused to accept responsibility or remember the facts from the original problem..and his answer was in direct conflict with Shea's. He was not helpful at all and could not understand why I was so upset (let's just say the transaction in dispute was a large sum of money). He is arrogant and lacks anything resembling customer care. I will be filing a formal complaint with their home office. My advice, skip management here and seek help from the other bank officers; they are much more helpful. read more

I recently switched from Bank of America. I didn't know banking could be this easy and no fees! I dealt with Rick Guillette who is the nicest guy in the world. He was very honest and informative. He made me feel very comfortable and even showed me how make 2% on my checking account. I also worked with Cassie Higgins who remembers my name every time I go in there. Very personal service. The only reason they even get one star is because they were nice and accommodating prior, however this experience was much different. My husband went in to notarize some documents and was directed to 'Steve'. Once he looked at his Veterans ID he asked 'So you're not here for an account with us?'. He ended it with 'I'm not notarizing anything for you.' He was rude, demeaning, disrespectful, and not only will we never be back, but we are contacting corporate as well. read more

If I could I give it a one star. This bank is ridiculous they seem friendly at first but after awhile it changes miraculously and it's unfortunate. I won't be coming back and the $150 for becoming a new customer and it took forever. And some of the guys working there always give you a look and act like they are better than you. So I have banked here for over five years. My employer set me up for direct deposit and I went on vacation only to find out the direct deposit didn't work and my account is now overdrawn. Despite the fact that my account is suppose to send me texts notification I find out because my card is declined. I call Midfirst right away to explain the situation because there are no banks nearby. In fact they have no banks in California. Really!!??? So the phone person was very nice but said there's nothing they can do to help me. Despite telling them my husband has direct deposit hitting In two days. Thoroughly disappointed. No help or offer to waive fees. Their technology has always been behind the times which I tolerated because of customer service but when you really need help and guidance a they are.to bad to sad. I am so done with Midfirst. If I was with any other bank I could have just gone and deposited the money. read more
