This was from a women's book study I attended this year.

If you're looking for a space that is multi-generational, multi-ethnic with a mission to serve Christ by building up our direct relationships to Him, look no further. Pastors are great teachers with powerful messages. Worship is energizing and welcomes the spirit into the room. They're a church you can plug in and serve the Lord through. Stick around and you witness how Midtown gives everything back to the local community. Thankful for the opportunities they provide to serve those most in need.

Great church, friendly people, wonderful worship music, and Bible-based preaching/teaching. I have enjoyed attending The House and am glad that I've had the opportunity to get involved by volunteering and going to a small group. Everyone here has been friendly from Day 1 and very welcoming. There are a variety of ways to get involved here. The church offers classes periodically during the year for adults covering a range of topics from getting your finances in order to marriage classes. There is also a Women's group and Men's group during the week. Plus, there are small groups offered throughout the area, depending on which night you're available and which area you live in. The children's program is also great and there is a good number of kids that attend during the 2nd service. Junior and Senior High meets during the 2nd service on Sunday and during the week. There are currently 2 services (9:30am & 11:15am) and each last around 1.5 hours. The people who attend come from diverse backgrounds. Dress is casual. This church body does a great job of reaching out the community around it, especially to the homeless and children. They are devoted to helping their community and also work with the community of Elder Grove regularly. If you're looking for a church to attend, I highly recommend checking out The House. Parking is available in nearby lots and on the street. Signs are posted to direct you.

Love this church. Sadly, I moved to the Bay Area but I still watch the live streamings on Facebook/YouTube.

Ask the Community - Midtown Church

Is Midtown Church no longer part of Bayside?

We were previously the Midtown Campus of Bayside Church, but we have since left the organization and are now independent and non-affiliated with Bayside Churches. We are still at the same location, with the same great worship, pastors, and heart for… Read more

Does Bayside Midtown have communion and if so when?

Yes! We celebrate communion monthly and during special services as a way to remember and reflect on Christ’s sacrifice. Also, to clarify, we are no longer affiliated with Bayside Church and are now an independent church.

I drove past this church for years, intrigued by the rainbow, Black Lives Matter, and "all means…read moreall" flags outside. When I finally made it inside for a service, it was clear that this community means and lives these messages deeply. There is a strong commitment to social justice and many opportunities to be involved in the work happening around that at lots of different levels. I attended for a few months and found people friendly and didn't feel like I was being recruited into something or pressured to participate in a certain way. When I felt like I wanted to get more involved and meet some people it was easy to do and to find a way of connecting that was comfortable for me. My I'm-never-stepping-foot-in-a-church-again teenager loves it here too and even comes on his own sometimes. I especially appreciate the approach to sermons that the pastoral team takes. There is usually a series happening over a couple of weeks though if you drop in and out it doesn't feel like you are missing something. Both pastors infuse the sermons with lots to feed both my intellectual and spiritual curiosity. Also the music is extraordinary - I'd pay good money to see these musicians play on a Saturday night!

I never left any trash, was clean and quiet, and ran off anybody who was a troublemaker..I remember when I first started sleeping there, they had very soft red lighting that was kind of looked evil/gothic, but was comforting also....over the years, they installed much brighter LED lights that were much less pleasant, but more modern..I loved this church and the neighborhood after sleeping here so long... I once went to this church with a friend of mine who attended here - i loved the service and one of the singers sang a song so profoundly beautiful, it made my friend and I cry...I was so touched by the singing - this was this pinnacle of artistic expression... in December of 2019, i had returned to Sac only for a couple months - so naturally i slept here in my longtime sleeping spot...I was always quick to rise early and clean up my belongings and make sure no trace was left behind of my presence there...but some guy came out of the church from inside around 5:30 am as I was cleaning up my stuff, as i had done for many years...he gave me quite a startle as church staff usually didn't show up so early....he made me nervous...i tried to explain myself but I was so nervous...I got the feeling he was about to run me off...:( By the grace of God, I have had housing for over a year and a half now...I can't thank God enough, Praise Him - and a massive thank you to whomever at the Church was aware of me, for letting me sleep there...I wasn't sure if the church really knew I was there..but one day, a nice lady was sitting on the church steps when I got there - she said she attended the church and the Pastor knew I slept there and it was okay...my heart was so joyous when she said that..that just showed me the Pastor was a true man of God...
