I drove past this church for years, intrigued by the rainbow, Black Lives Matter, and "all means all" flags outside. When I finally made it inside for a service, it was clear that this community means and lives these messages deeply. There is a strong commitment to social justice and many opportunities to be involved in the work happening around that at lots of different levels. I attended for a few months and found people friendly and didn't feel like I was being recruited into something or pressured to participate in a certain way. When I felt like I wanted to get more involved and meet some people it was easy to do and to find a way of connecting that was comfortable for me. My I'm-never-stepping-foot-in-a-church-again teenager loves it here too and even comes on his own sometimes. I especially appreciate the approach to sermons that the pastoral team takes. There is usually a series happening over a couple of weeks though if you drop in and out it doesn't feel like you are missing something. Both pastors infuse the sermons with lots to feed both my intellectual and spiritual curiosity. Also the music is extraordinary - I'd pay good money to see these musicians play on a Saturday night! read more

I don't know how to praise The Table family - I am not a member of any church any longer - now with that said, I most definitely will be joining this awesome church. Pastor Matt and Sarah have been absolutely amazing with the memorial service of my brother. They along with Pastor Linda were very supportive and comforting to myself and my brother's husband during the process of getting the service organized. I will never be able to thank these amazing people enough during this very difficult time. The Table family are caring, accepting, and non-judgmental, something I have never found in other churches. I urge anyone that is looking for a place to worship and fellowship to give the family at The Table a try - One last thing to note - the church has a motto of "All means All" - I can say that they fully practice what they "preach". My husband and I have been attending the table for three years now. We found it because of the "All Means All" banner out front, and this church really does walk the walk. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived, and it has become a welcoming second home for us. Pastor Matt and Pastor Linda have a great relationship and are always a joy to watch, and the annual movie month, where films are held in conversation with scripture, are one of my favorites. It's a great, friendly, diverse and inclusive neighborhood church and I highly recommend it. read more

I have attended The Table with my family for the past six months or so. It's looks like a 'regular' church and seems to be a 'regular' church until you walk into the sanctuary, grab a cup of coffee on your way to the pew while listening to the jazz band thumping and wizbanging. The Table is not a 'regular' church. I have been a member of a number of Christian churches and denominations, and I regularly felt like the answer to any disagreement with those churches' theology was to "pray harder" or "read scripture again" or "wait for the fire to burn in your chest" or "the devil is fighting for your soul." So then I start going to The Table and I decide to voice some concerns, fully expecting to be rebuffed, and the pastors hit me with a, "Oh, that's an interesting perspective, please tell me more." And then they follow up with a, "I'm glad you shared that, I think that's an important distinction." And then I'm all like, "Um, wat?" The Table's slogan is "All Means All." And they mean it. Curmudgeons like me and the happy-go-lucky are all welcome. It's a truly wonderful congregation with a refreshing attitude. After living life bouncing in and out of the church, I found myself seeking something and not sure what it was. Currently I am not it the best place in life that I have been or want to be. So I figured it was time to go back to church. I had been staying in touch with God, but was just stumbling around and getting confused, so I figured I would find some direction at a church. Being raised a Methodist; I decided to look for a Methodist Church near me. Well this goes to show you how Gods works I believe he pointed me to The Table on H st. in East Sacramento. The first day I meet one of the two great pastors and felt very welcomed. I attended a couple of more services and then found out about these things called kitchen tables. I attended two of those meetings and have been a regular ever since. Bottom line this is a church that was old school and is working to be a new school. The small groups (kitchen tables) are a great way to learn and stay in touch with God. This church is a place for young and old alike as there is just enough old school for us that have many years experience in life and is new school enough for those just starting out in this life game. The best part about The Table is they are very accepting of all who want to worship. read more

It Saddens me to write this But feel it should be said. I am a 43 yr old man thats disabled, use a wheelchair and cane (in home) to get around. I have been looking for a new church family since moving to Sacramento in Aug 2016 from Los Angeles and so I called the Table church after seeing it with the rainbow flag when driving to an appointment to make sure it was wheelchair accessible. I left a voicemail, a few days later the CoPastor called me and said yes it was accessible overall. I went about two Sundays later & the wheelchair accessible seating is the back last isle of seating so when the parishioners stand for worship, the wheelchair user is blocked from seeing the stage. Before service started one young lady spoke with me about my cool wheelchair, she was so sweet & one couple spoke with me and that was only because I said hello and was seated right beside them. Then during worship the pastors encouraged visitors to fill out a welcome card with our info so that one of the pastors could call & set up a time to talk or go get coffee together. Now a few months later now and I have yet to hear from anyone so I emailed the head co pastor & ask her to give me a call so we could talk, its about a week later now and still no response. I have taken that as a sign that I should keep looking for a new home church family. I have a ton of things overwhelming me at this time since my move & was praying for a church family that I could go to be re fueled spiritually. I will never lose my love for God & Faith But I do question the institution of Church after having a few bad experiences with them in the last 10 yrs. I am alone here in Sacramento & don't have many opportunities to meet new people so Guess its just my puppy Freedom, you & me God! God Bless. Truly Jerry read more

I don't go to church, but I understand the importance of it to those that do and need it. I am a gay man, and my husband grew up in church, and it is very important to him. Although I do not "attend" the service, I enjoy taking my husband and our two kids to church and picking them up. I see and interact with members of the congregation, and am truly glad to get to know them. There is no recruiting or judgement, just a great group of people who enjoy fellowship with each other. I do not write reviews on Yelp often, but I felt this was definitely deserved. Since moving to Sacramento from southern California, I have been looking for a church to attend on a regular basis. I just graduated from Azusa Pacific University and love the intentionality and small community found at some churches. I was very blessed to have found this community and have been attending since the middle of May! The Table has two wonderful pastors (Linda & Matt), great contemporary music (which is sooo hard to find) and a screamin' sermon! I enjoy the size of the community, the building which is beautiful, and the message which actually teaches me new things based off of historical context! Anyways, I wanted to post my review here for others that may be considering this church, please do try us out - everyone is so sincere, friendly, and most importantly AUTHENTIC!
