The hydrangeas were putting on quite a show during my visit, and I loved discovering the sculptures and learning about the stories behind them. There's something special about hearing water flowing while surrounded by the Charlotte skyline. This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. There was a lot of construction going on and the nature trail was closed, but there was still a nice route through residential streets and paved space. The traffic might be slightly overwhelming for home owners, but everyone was there for the physical activity and having a good time. I live near the Brandywine Road part of the Greenway. I simply walk out my condo door and presto! I'm there. Yes the greenway is in west Charlotte, but once the city plan furthers itself, most of the greenways will be connected which will be nice- since the city can be pretty treacherous on the roads with vehicles that don't like to share. Like most other greenways, there are benches... places to stop and also places to walk pets. I didn't see many baggie stations, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time to install once it becomes more popular. Part of the trailhead will get you on stuart creek and connect you to Blue Blaze. Great way to experience Wesley heights and take in a local brewery!

There's a great gated parking lot that allows families and visitors to park and get to the playground, there's also the pool (closed in the winter time) but I basically came here in search of an outdoor stair workout. Not only does the greenway come through the park, but there's a big elevation difference that allows for some gorgeous city views! The park also has some nice business neighbors like the Hobbyist and a Pho place, really nice way to start a Saturday is to workout, and then grab a coffee from the Hobbyist. I'm curious how booked up the event space is for the park since the back of the building is all glass and looks out to the gorgeous city skyline.

There is actually a small stream that runs through it and a tunnel under a bridge. The walking paths are pleasant and let you enjoy a bit of nature while being in the city. You can access the park via underground tunnels or crossing the street above ground. It is connected to some of the other parks and Greenway is located in the uptown/Elizabeth area in Charlotte. So you will likely see many walkers, joggers and others taking a stroll through the parks. It is a really nice park and the manicured grass and landscape really shows that.
