Graham, Ted and the gang are phenomenal tech "how can we help" guys. I recently had the black screen of death with my laptop. I quickly took the laptop in and in about 2 hours they came back. It was a great day when Graham, owner of Midtowntech, moved into the Yonge and St. Clair area. I've bought all my Apple products there because they really stand behind their sales. Graham makes sure you are up and running with each new device. Which is much appreciated. I just purchased a new IMAC and of course, there were a few blips. I recently had an issue with my 2+ year old Macbook Pro. I went to Yorkdale's Apple store where I learned that the fan was not working properly. It still functioned but needed to be replaced. Apple's policy was to leave the computer at the store while waiting for the part. Combined with the repair time. Apple estimated it would take approximately 5-7 days to fix. I couldn't afford to be without my computer for that long, The assigned Genius suggested calling an Apple authorized repair location for possible faster service. The first location I contacted had the same policy of leaving the computer until the parts arrived. Then I reached out to Midtown Tech. Peter was great! He was required to re-diagnose the computer then ordered the parts and let me go, with my computer. When the fan arrived, I dropped off the computer and it was fixed the same day. While doing fixing the fan, they noticed sticky keys and made that repair too. Recently, I had another issue with processing, and rather than wait several days for the Apple store to do the job, I went to directly MT. They fixed it overnight (faster than I thought) and took the time to ensure it was working properly. One of their service members, Matt, even asked if they could contact me on a Sunday just to see if all was working well. This team goes the distance and has a passion for solving an issue. Unbelievably terrible experience at this "Apple approved" shop. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. No where near Apple level service. Repairs took weeks to complete and I had zero updates along the way. When I finally had to pick up a loaner so I could get back to work I was given an old Mac that was not in working order and had to take another day to return to the shop for a different one. I missed multiple days of work dealing with this place because of their disorganization. And when I asked to speak with someone regarding my unpleasant experience I was spoken down to in a condescending tone and was refused any contact information or call back from their superior. My issue was never resolved with the shop themselves, however, I did take this up with Apple and receive proper compensation and top notch customer service. This should not be an "Apple approved" shop that Apple customers unknowingly trust because they are referred by Apple. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Worth the wait for an actual Apple store with Apple level service. read more
