The jalapeño mac and cheese is awesome but you can definitely taste the jalapeño. It is not subtle. They also give you a biscuit AND a slice of cornbread! Even though this is a "help yourself" restaurant with free seating and grab-it-yourself utensils, there is an employee frequently walking around asking if he can refill your drinks and is welcome to strike up a conversation with you. Fries and hushpuppies were the standouts, with the hushpuppies light & fluffy inside. Baked beans were forgettable but at least not vinegar based like everything else. Sweet tea was basically pure sugar and needed to be cut with lots of unsweetened tea to be palatable. Brunswick stew that my friend ordered was the most reasonably portioned item but really just seemed like all the meats this place cooks thrown together in an unappetizing-looking tomato-based stew.
