Wondered into this place driving by the area. This place definitely feels like something out of an 80s movie. Has a a homey and familiar feel to it. Everyone who I encountered here was nice. I didn't know what to get, so the lady at the front suggested one of the sampler plates with fish, soft shell crab and oysters. This plate did not mess around. It was so big I took half home. The food was small in portion and cold not hot. I ordered the trout plate. I received three pieces of fish(small in size) potato salad which still had the skin on it which is a no go for me. Didn't taste bad though until i noticed it. The coleslaw was basic i mean i didn't think coleslaw needed seasoning but honey it does! So we just went to the fish fry and we ordered the barbecue plate. As my son was chewing, there was something not very barbecue in it- the meat was ground meat- shocking my daughter ordered the shrimp and it still had feces in it. The tea was good. The flounder was so good and was cooked to perfection! I have tried all the local places around that serve fish and this was the first place to cook it perfectly! I hate when fish is overcooked! My husband had popcorn shrimp and loved it! Hush puppy's were sweet just the way I love them. French fries were steak fries which was cooked perfect and the Cole slaw was excellent. So I pass this lil Seafood joint on the way home every weekday and I have never stopped in to check it out. Now the place is not eye candy but the owner of this place can most definitely cook some fish. I order the large croaker plate and I can assure you that is exactly what it was. Two decent size croakers cooked whole. I am not a fan of eating bony fish but this was mot definitely a pleasant surprise. He threw in a filet of whiting's for me to try as well which was absolutely delicious. The staff was very pleasant to deal with and answered questions that I presented in an effort to satisfy my taste palate. Now the one negative had to be the coleslaw, it needed a lil something more and the fries could've been a lil more crispier with a lil seasoning. I ate at his exceptional little restaurant yesterday. The fried fish was great! I found the breading on both the flounder and the hush puppies was light and slightly sweet. Hardly any info on yelp, but this place is a hidden gem! The portions were huge and tasty. You can get a two-part entrée with two sides for around $12; we tried catfish and deviled crab (served in crab shells) with a choice of two sides. We chose potato salad and okra. That would have been enough food for two people. But I also got separate orders of jalapeño poppers and okra, both were a little underseasoned but the quantities were jaw-dropping! The reason I'm giving this two stars is because the young man behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. But the reality is that I paid $20 for a pile of seafood that was cooked in oil that wasn't nearly hot enough, so it's oily and soggy. it seems like a fairly busy place though, so maybe it was an off night. Went there today based on Yelp reviews. The tables were dirty and sticky and the floors were slippery. The girl behind the counter was not familiar with the menu so we took a chance and ordered small whiting plates which came with 2 sides and 4 hush puppies. While the flavor of the fish was ok and the helpings were large I was completely disgusted by the brown coagulated tartar sauce in a dirty bottle. Fried fish isn't as good without some tartar sauce. Based on the condition of the tartar sauce we stayed away from the ketchup and cocktail sauce. The fries and onion rings were undercooked, and the squash was bland. Our meals were topped off by flat soda. We may get food from there again but will order takeout and make our own sauce at home. read more

Went here last night for the first time and was not impressed. You order and pay upfront. There were 4 ladies behind the counter/cooking areatalking to each other. They were out of Cole slaw, trout and scallops. The lady taking our order was preocupied by conversation going on behind her. We actually had to redirect her focus. They post a sanitation grade at an A; however am not sure how. The cooking area was a mess with batter everywhere. The dining area floor was greasy and the tabletop was sticky. Giant portions for reasonable prices. Typical fried food though. I would doubt anything comes in there that isn't frozen. The frying oil always seems to be clean when I'm in there which is essential for a place that fries everything. Great staff as well! Only downfall is the seafood is just standard. read more
