I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I was originally told my car repair would take about 3 weeks. After that passed, I was told it would be another week... then another week again. At this point, they have had my car for over 2 months with no clear completion date. What's even more frustrating is the lack of communication. Buyer Beware - Proceed with Extreme Caution I strongly advise against doing business with this dealership. While the initial buying process was fairly straightforward and the sales associate, Mamadou, was pleasant to work with, the experience quickly took a turn for the worse after the sale. I purchased a luxury vehicle, and upon arrival, I discovered several issues that were never disclosed. The passenger-side mirror was damaged and taped -- a detail conveniently left out of the online listing and photos. The Carfax only mentioned a single rear-left accident, so this additional damage came as a complete surprise. When I raised the issue, management refused to resolve it unless I paid extra. The car also had roughly 700 more miles than advertised. To make matters worse, despite being told the car would be detailed before pickup, it was in poor condition -- with stains on the seats and air vents, missing floor mats, and only one key provided. But the most alarming part came just days after the purchase: the check engine light and several other warning lights came on. When I contacted the dealership, I was given the runaround and eventually transferred to someone I had never spoken with before who claimed to be the "manager." His response was dismissive: "We can't fix that. You didn't buy a warranty, and we didn't offer one." What they failed to disclose -- and what I later discovered -- is that this same "manager" had been personally driving the car prior to the sale, which likely explains the mileage discrepancy and strongly suggests he was aware of the vehicle's condition. I just wanted to praise the finance manager for being unprofessional and demeaning many months ago. I decided to just put $500 of repairs into my current vehicle after the experience there back in 2025. Fast forward many months later and this "$700 vehicle that I won't even be able to sell for $1800" is running stronger than ever with now over 220,000 miles on it. Had the finance manager not been so rude he might have caught me in a moment of impulsivity that day. I might have actually purchased a vehicle from Midwest Auto and drove off with a worse vehicle than I arrived in. When in doubt...let the finance manager cuss you out. What a JOKE!!!! Never, EVER visit this place! Extremely rude to customers and can't be bothered.... I walked in the place with over $20,000 in my pocket, CASH! looked around the lot for about 30 minutes, not one vehicle has a price marked and no salesman tried to help. After a while I went inside and asked for a salesman and was told that some of them had called in and they only had one of the lot today. Okay, understandable, so I asked if I told the lady what I was looking for if she could give me a list, and she said it was best to go online and search for what I wanted. I told her that I tried that but they have A LOT of cars and there was no way to filter online unless I wanted a specific year, make, and model. So she said maybe she could do it and asked what I was looking for. I said Pickup or Large SUV, 4x4, V8, and would like under 100k miles, for around $20k or less. Now mind you I had just been on their website and found multiple ones that met that criteria, but it looked as though they had even more. I told her if she could print out a list, I could walk around and mark the ones I was truly interested in, and when the salesman was free I could save us both time by only seeing what I liked. Sitting next to her was the manager. She pulls the list up and prints it off, and while printing it up the manager hands me a sticky note with ONE truck on it and says that is all they have that meets my criteria. In the mean time the lady is trying to hand me the list and the Manager pushes it away. I asked what was wrong with giving me the list and he says there is only one truck that meets what I asked for, he said if I want higher mileage or to spend more money he has others. I felt he was try to push me into that one vehicle but I again give them benefit of the doubt that maybe the others I saw on the website that met what I wanted were already gone and sold. So I ask the salesman to show me the one truck and while we are walking out to it I see the "one" truck they offered, I see one of the other trucks that was on the website still there. I looked at the truck they were showing me, and it wasn't actually that bad and I was interested but I ask the salesman to see if he could get a list of trucks with less than 150k miles, and rudely he says what's wrong with this one? So I said I was interested in it but I wanted to see a few trucks not just one. He goes back inside and a few minutes later comes out with another customer. I thought maybe he is waiting on the list, 20 min go by while he is showing cars to the other customer and then he goes in office and comes out a little bit later with another customer. I wait, becuase I don't want to interrupt them, I do not want to be rude. 20 or so more minutes and he finishes with them, so on his way back into the office again I ask if he got the list yet. He looks at me and says I don't know, I'm the only salesman here today. I said well I saw several trucks on the website that were on the lot that met my criteria but the manager only gave me one, I said and he is helping other customers while I have been waiting, and I pointed out a Linciln Mark LT and Dodge RAM that both had less that 100k miles and were under $20k that weren't on the list the mNager gave me. I told him I would at least like to see those and would like to see others, and he says I told you I'm the only salesman here and I ain't gonna take shit for what the manager did!! I said no problem, turned around, and got in the car and left......I would never buy there after being treated like that! Found out right after I left from our daughter that her friend bought a car there two months ago and less than a week it blew up and they wouldn't even talk to her. I have since heard from several others how rude they are, and that they buy pieces of crap and have a shop in the back that they fix up just enough to stick on the lot and get rid of!!! read more

I'm very disappointed in the office personnel. They simply lied to us. After we decided to buy a vehicle, they pitched their extended warranty. We were told that we would be able to get oil changes for $30. Two weeks later, when I tried to use that benefit, I was told the price just went up to $45. I understand that prices increase occasionally, but they made a commitment to us that we would receive $30 oil changes because we were buying the warranty, and they didn't follow through with that commitment. We were told the only maintenance requirement to keep the warranty in effect was regular oil changes. That was also a lie. We were also led to believe that the warranty covers more than it does. This morning when I called to cancel the warranty, I was told it can't be cancelled. From what I've learned in my research, that's also a lie, but they're going to make me work to get it cancelled. I'm extremely disappointed. An update to my previous review: I contacted the Better Business Bureau, and they contacted Midwest Auto. In their reply, Midwest blamed the oil change price increase on an outdated brochure, but we were also given that price from the warranty salesperson on the night of the purchase. Second, when I first called Midwest about canceling the warranty, I was told by the lady I spoke to that the price change from $30 to $45 had occurred a few weeks after we purchased the warranty. Their stories aren't even consistent. Ultimately, it doesn't matter that they increased their prices in general. What matters is that they told us that we would get oil changes for $30, not just on the car we were buying, but on all cars in our family, if we bought the warranty. They didn't say the price could increase along with a general price increase. We were told our price would be $30, period, and that's one reason we bought the warranty. They tried to justify their deception by claiming that $45 "is a steal price and I'm sorry that you don't realize that as everyone else is selling that for about $90 or more". That is completely missing the point. It also just adds to their string of lies. When I found out they weren't going to live up to their commitment, I called around and got an oil change and tire rotation for $48.36, including tax. Midwest didn't respond at all to the other aspects of our complaint except to say "we don't feel that we have by any way, misled you or misrepresented anything in the way that you are stating". However, in their reply to BBB, Midwest said, "(As) Part of the sales process you were given a written paper of everything that is covered under the certified warranty and an explanation what it takes to maintain it." That is completely false. Two weeks after our purchase, Midwest sent us the warranty with instructions that we sign it and send it back to them. In their response to BBB, Midwest contended that our complaint is a simple instance of buyer's remorse or a situation where an inexperienced consumer was overwhelmed by the information involved in buying a car. I'm 64 years old and have bought many cars in my lifetime. This is, instead, a case of a consumer recognizing and resisting dishonest business practices. read more

I bought a car from here and will never go there again. When I bought it the engine light was on and I was told that it was the gas cap. The car does not have a gas cap. I didn't think about it at the time because I loved the car. I bought the car in February and the engine over heated in November. I took it back for them to fix because coolant was leaking into the cylinders. They had my car for almost 2 months to fix this. During that time I tried calling every 6 days to find out information on the car. I was treated with disrespect threatened and nothing was being done. They tried to blame it on the warranty company but they had my car for over 2 weeks before they even contacted the warranty company. I know this because I called the warranty company myself to find out. The warranty did not cover the issue which was fine I just wanted my car fixed. When they finally fixed my car almost 2 months after they had it they were rude when I picked it up and said that they sent me an e-mail telling me not to come get the vehicle. Which was a lie so I told them I would pay for it and wanted my car back. Oh and while they had my car I had written a bad review which they called me threatening me to take it down if I wanted my car fixed. If they call me this time too bad I'm not removing my honest bad review. Anyway it's been just over a month since I got my car back. I had to take it to a different garage to fix because what I am being told today was an improper short block change and the engine light was not the gas cap but an evac valve. The new garage is not charging me to fix what MWA messed up. MWA did give me about 3000 off on the engine change but do you really think that covers a rental car for 2 months and the loss of wages for my second job for two months since I had to use my car for my second job. I will never go here for anything ever again and I do not want MWA to contact me in any way over this review because everything in this review is honest and I am not about to be threatened by them anymore. We just bought our second car, a 2015 Toyota Venza, from Midwest Auto Store. Both times we were treated fairly and nicely. This time, we brought a car in that we had just purchased from Jeff Wyler Honda 3 weeks ago that we have already had to drop $8000 into for major repairs that Wyler should have known about (and probably did.) (Wyler=wily fox?) Kevin Lowe helped us find a vehicle that would put us in much better shape. Between him and the finance officer, we found one that would do the job we needed it to do and were able to put an unlimited warranty on it to protect us against any possibility of expensive repairs. Bless them! I have never been so relieved leaving a dealership than I was tonight! As usual, they stayed late to get everything just right, and Kevin rushed the car in for the final once over before that department closed for the night. Searching for a solid used truck and found what I was looking for here at a very reasonable price. Bottom line when buying a car is due diligence. Do your homework, read up on the car you want and take the vehicle for an independent inspection (I highly recommend NRP Auto). My experience was very good here (MJ and Johnny stayed in touch and worked with me until I was happy). Other reviewers on here seem to forget it's a used car lot (used cars can / will have issues). 4 stars because I felt MAS could have more thoroughly inspected the truck before it went to the lot, saving some time and hassle, but they fixed the issues and agreed to fix an additional problem I caught the day after I brought my truck home. Everything was fine until I got there. I drove two hours. Filled out all credit apps before I got there. JOHNNY was the salesperson I worked with. I got there, he seemed akward but whatever. Test drove it and then sat down and he showed me my monthly payment. I politely told him I could t afford that, he asked what I was trying to get and I told him. He told me with my credit being average it would be hard to get that. I told him I totally understood and thanked him for his time and left. I purchased a car off of them after 5 days of being on the road my brakes went out. Starting from beginning when I initially test drove it. I didn't hear anything like grinding but when I took it off the lot I immediately heard it. I called to ask if brakes had been serviced which they assured me it was inspected twice just had some rust. I continued to drive it. Brakes went completely out. I had the car towed to my local mechanic. When I called the dealership no one wanted to take my call. So when I finally spoke to someone it wasn't a supervisor. She told me their policy was to have my car towed to them. I refused obviously their techs lied about the vehicle. They put me in a unsafe car mother of 3!!! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! I went to this dealership for a specific vehicle after calling twice to confirm availability - when I showed up to test drive, the car was not road worthy! Brakes so bad it wasn't even drive-able, after they'd told me twice to come on in... When I got there, they tried to convince me to pay for it up-front and sign a contract for the necessary repairs - couldn't even answer the simple question of whether parts were on-order, or on-site... What a bunch of jokers!!! Who lists a car for sale that can't even be test-driven, when they have the garage right there?!? VERY DISAPPOINTED, would advise that anyone looking for a decent, reliable daily driver avoid this place like the plague. Buyer's Beware: I unfortunately purchased a truck from MIDWEST AUTO STORE last Friday 10/30 with only a 1/4 tank of gas in it on test drive and on pick up. Well low and behold Saturday 10/31 when I filled up this truck to my dismay there is a very steady leak coming from the gas tank. They've estimated for me to pay $800 to fix and are only willing to cut the price in half. I have talked to the salesperson who I worked with Ray and all he has to say is you signed the "as is" documents we are not responsible. Fine, but as a dealer your damn service department should do a more scrupulous check of vehicles prior to giving the ok to sell!!! I convinced my brother to get a newer truck because he had to keep putting money into his old one. He went to get one and I co-signed for him. After a couple months he took his truck in to get the transmission flushed based on the mileage. They jacked up the transmission. It was obviously under warranty, so no problem right? WRONG!! My brother relies on his truck as a single father to pick his kids up for visitations and to run a lawn maintenance business. They kept his truck for 2 frickin months and didn't give him a rental. The paperwork was apparently never filed or something by the underwriters. He went two month borrowing someone else's truck when he could, barely being able to pick up his kids and see them. I had to drive him to/from work a ton. He finally got to pick up his truck last week. They cut the muffler pipe in half!!! He said they had to have know because of how it sounded. He was so tired of dealing with them he took it to Car X and had them replace things for almost $700. He spent $700 instead of taking it back to a place that should have done it for free. We purchased a vehicle from this dealer and within two months the transmission went out. It was taken to have the transmission fixed and we were told that the codes were already in there that there was a transmission problem before we bought it. It had 58,000 miles and Ford should repair it. We had bought a secondary warranty from this company. The secondary warranty company refused to pay and said ford should cover it. After two months of arguing, I paid the bill for $2000. I immediately traded in this vehicle to get rid of it. I canceled my secondary warranty and the refund check went to Midwest. They refused to give me my money back because I owe them for service on a vehicle which I do not have. They sent me half of my money. They make up bill so they do not have to refund you. They also sell bad vehicles that they know have problems. Do not buy or service any vehicle here. read more

Purchased car for my son after a test drive. Passenger side mirror was broken. I said why didn't you fix that before you put it on lot for sale. He said they fix things like that after you purchase it. Huh? Anyway, it was an easy fix with glue. After signing paper work, went to drive the car away and key fob won't unlock door. Also, I was told their cars go thru a thorough inspection before being offered for sale. I had to pick up the car the next day after they had jerry rigged the key fob to work. 2 days after purchase the key fob doesn't work to unlock or lock car or trunk and the oil pressure lite comes on. I take it to VW and they had to replace key fob, oil pressure switch, trunk latch and trunk release mechanism. $1800 later..... The salesman didn't even thank me for purchasing car. They buy these cars at auction, mark them up a few thousand and throw them on lot. I don't even think they even clean them first. read more

I purchased a vehicle from Midwest a few weeks ago. The sales person I worked with was very kind, concise, and did not give me the run around which was appreciated. The vehicle I purchased had the check engine light on due to an issue with the thermostat. No problem. We agreed Midwest would fix it and I'd purchase the vehicle. After I purchased the vehicle the check engine light came back (all of this occurred within about 2 hours) so I took it back the next day. What was described as a "1 hour fix" took 3 hours to fix and I was on my way! About three and a half weeks later the car had an electrical issue and I had to have it towed back to the dealership! Also, I was supposed to get my registration within two weeks and still did not have it. When working with the dealership everyone assured me that I would get the best price, how unfortunate it is blah blah blah. I must say the person who works the phones there is totally useless and says "what information can I get you?", proceeds to dump you to someone who has no idea what's going on and you're starting from scratch. It seems like no one is able to take responsibility and the lack of customer advocacy in general is concerning. I have to give credit to someone in the parts department who did try to make it right after my car was brought back on a tow truck. All in all the sales experience was good, but between how much time they cost me, and the lack of confidence I have in their cars and service department, it's hard to imagine I'd ever give them my business or recommend them to anyone. read more

After purchasing a car my initial thoughts were that this place is a reputable business. It was about 2 weeks and I was having issues, and I found out the AC compressor was going bad. So I talked with them and dropped my car off only to be called the next morning saying that the extra key that THEY gave me didn't work even though I told them I would drop off my spare. Obviously they didn't "check" it since they bought the car in October 2018, suspicious to say the least. Since I had to drop that off before work I was late, and after speaking with the manager today he told me that being late to work doesn't mean he has to get me a new key even though they asked to hold onto it to figure it out. Never the less the exact item I told them to look into was not even touched, the manager did not truly listen to what I said and assumed the AC wasn't working at all so the valves were replaced and Freon filled. Less than two days after the squealing was back and worse and I called them three days in a row leaving a message and was only responded to on the third day. Dropped my car off on Monday and I was told that my key would also be looked at the following day and Nikki told me on Tuesday that the key was figured out. Now I spoke to the manager today because I was going to be charged on a warranty, one he lied to me about the cost on, and I tried to explain that I shouldn't have to pay since it had been under a month. He informed me that he is losing money and I'm not getting my key unless I pay, which is not what Nikki said at all. Needless to say this auto store is not reputable and the manager has given me the run around contradicting what his other employees say. I am so unhappy at this point with this auto store it's not natural. I assure you if you need a ride your best bet is to use Uber or the bus. Stay as far away from this scam as possible. read more

Don't you love it when the review lists the salesman's first and last name, yeah right. This place advertises low prices but all you have to do is a title check on the vehicle, stay away. This interior of this place looks like a Persian men's club (red and white leather, hahaha, anybody want a lapdance?). They will rip you off anyway they can, they sell cars with out clear titles, by no means leave the lot with a vehicle and try it out overnight, you will show up the next day and they will refuse to give you your car back. Their service department consists of a guy that sprays wd-40 on the belts to make them look new, seriously check the oil, they don't even bother to change the oil, an honest review from from a non-salesman. read more

I saw listing online. I Sent an email got a call back in about 15mins. The location was 2 1/2 hour drive away from my home so I set up a test drive appointment for the particular Caron the next day at 10:30. I arrived the next day at 10:25 to find that the person who I set the appointment with was off that day. To top that the car I was interested in was not drivable.
