Had to go back and pick her up. They closed the pool due to lightning. I guess this is normal procedures. Thinking they should have some sort of notification system tht swimmers can sign up for and receive pool closing notifications. Maybe they do have but we couldn't find one. This YMCA has the most outdated equipment and saunas have been out of order for years. The spin bikes were updated a couple of years ago to what feels like a cheaper version of a peloton, horrible replacement to what they had. Don't expect any renovations b/c this location never receives any. This location looks more like it will close down rather than supply the community with a decent gym. read more

How in the world does an organization change that drastically from Christian Principles to worldly practices. Supporting all this LGBTQ+ nonsense is so bad for it. Place is so crusty, bugs, dirty old flooring and carpet, while charging so much for a disgusting facility. read more

This Y is super clean and organized with a great staff! I retired from teaching earlier this year and just recently (re)joined the Y. I have been rehab-ing an injured ankle & shoulder so after I completed physical therapy I thought it was time to see what more I could do to strengthen them. The desk staff was helpful in describing all of the class options to me. I started with the Tai Chi class and Lynn has been fabulous! I was so sad to hear she is leaving soon, but glad I was able to enjoy learning the basics of Tai Chi with her. It is ideal for strengthening, relaxing, meditating, stretching & balance. I have also participated in Stenia's Senior Dance class and she is fantastic as well - a force of nature! She is energetic but very careful about reminding the participants not to overdo it or do any moves that cause them pain or to feel unstable. Once I felt comfortable with those classes, I decided to add some weight-training to my routine. Caleb and Jeff have helped me with that SO much! They helped me find just the right machines to utilize for my issues, showed me how to adjust them and made sure I was using the proper form. I have been so pleased thus far with my return to the Y. Even the custodians have been friendly! Thanks for being just what I needed to work on my health. read more

The ladies at the office didn't let my guest come in without paying a "$10 day pass fee". When i joined ymca they had told me that i could bring a guest every 6 months and they told me that they changed it. I just think it's unfair that my first time guest had to go back home to get his "$10 fee" read more

My home Y is the Earlywine on the other side of town. Like the previous reviews this is in an older building (maybe a repurposed school or hospital I don't know)but is really a good facility. I visited at lunch time and got in and out with no hassle and not much traffic. The staff was helpful though young (typical summer YMCA). The lockers and showers were clean. They had racquetball courts which surprised me. All I used on this trip was the cardio, but I wouldn't feel bad about coming back when I'm in the area to do a weight workout. read more

Great Yoga classes by John C, he keeps it real & changes it up weekly . He teaches 4 classes a week, Two are at 7:30 am and two in afternoon. Great Tai Chi classes on Tues & Thurs 7:30 am & Sat at 11 am by Danielle. I love the gym & walk the treadmills to get my 10 K steps The pool area needs updates to dressing rooms & sauna doesnt work. read more

The Midwest City Y is an older facility, but the staff and community at this gym make this a great place to work out. I spoke with Stenia Little several months ago about working with a trainer, and she was professional and friendly. She linked me up with Carolyn R., and we worked together for several months. I had a wonderful experience working with Carolyn and working out in the exercise room in the back of the gym beyond the racquetball rooms. I never had to wait for a machine or space in the weight room. Thanks to the staff for being so warm and encouraging! This is a great Y. read more

Not the best Y in town, but for sure not the worst. The facility is older making the layout of the building a bit awkward. Not much of an open area when walking in, narrow halls, a bit of a trek to the workout area. The staff here is nice, the pool is fine, the locker rooms are your typical musty caves. The employees are really good with my kiddos, that's a huge plus. Honestly, the reason I workout at this location most frequently is because of the light crowd and large parking lot. It's an old building that could use some TLC, but they keep it up as well as they can. Short of a huge remodel that will probably never happen, they are doing the best they can with what they have. There's a pool, racquetball court, and large oval shaped cardio room with a walking track awkwardly straddling it. The machines seem to be clean and well kept in the cardio and weight rooms though, and the staff is very nice. There are definitely nicer Y's out there, but if this one's close then go for it. read more

Staff is very nice; no issues there Machines are decent enough. Problem is you pay $30+/month for wifi that maybe works 1 or 2 days a month. It will connect, but not run. I need to stream for cardio and I'm not going to triple my mobile bill to do it because stuff I'm already paying for is DOA. This is why I'll be leaving. I hiiiiighly doubt this is an issue downtown or at the Edmond Y, but I guess it's possible. I could deal with the unsupervised kids jetting in and out of the gym if the wifi worked maybe 60% of the time. But when you can go elsewhere for 1/3 of the price and not having to deal with non-existent wifi and kids running amok, it seems like the right move. If you're just here to take a class or swim, it might be an alright place. read more

This is an older YMCA. I was in town for a Zumba and Hip Hop class at another facility. I needed a shower and clean up and I have a YMCA membership in Kansas City, which means good at any YMCAs. I popped into this one because I saw they had a Aqua Zumba class going to begin soon. It was simple to check in and the staff was pleasant. The class was great and people were friendly. Only strange thing was that they must lock the doors to the pool before and after each class. I do not know if this is just a local YMCA rule or a city rule but it was annoying. I was trying to converse with the instructor after class and was politely nudged out because a lock down was needed. I just do not get it. If I lived here, I would avoid this. read more
