They went through all the pros and cons of material and construction options with me so I could make the best decision for my needs and budget. They also provided written documentation of how they were going to do everything - details on how the support posts would be set, on the structure, and on the deck boards, etc, many of which were beyond what the local building code requires. And then they were able to deliver on what they said they would do. The new support structure for my deck is rock solid, I swear I could park a truck on it. Good communication with me throughout the entire process. And the finished product is beautiful. I went with a composite deck material. While not the least expensive quote that I had, they were competitive. I went with them because I wanted it done right and last many years, and I fee that they were able to give me that.

In retrospect, I wish I would've spent more to avoid working with Brandon & Miranda. When I originally booked, I was told the start date would be May of that year. The start date was pushed back further and further. I had to reach out for any sort of communication, as Miranda rarely followed through on getting back to me. We got our front porch redone and had a back deck built. I was told he would do the front porch to start, then the back deck after so that my children would still be able to utilize our yard during summer. Instead, he started on the front porch and dug giant holes in my backyard - insisting this had to be the case for permitting reasons. But then once the job started, I only got a maximum of 2 HALF days of work per week. Again, barely got any communication during. I'd have to reach out asking when/if they'd return and I only got a response part of the time. My favorite was being told there'd be a delay bc of materials being late even though the materials had been delivered to my house a week prior. The job finally finished about 6ish weeks after it began. Much much longer than the 2 weeks I was originally told. But I figured whatever, we'll leave it alone since it's done and they looked good. Except the quality was crap too. He changed the back deck plans without ever communicating that it'd be different (one side abruptly stopped creating a 4ft drop to concrete and I have small children & he built around a post we talked about him removing). Within a year, multiple rails on the front porch were coming off & the wood on the back deck was rippling, peeling in multiple places, & corner pieces were separating. I reached out 1 year before the 2 year limit in the contract was met but was told for the next year that I was "top of the repair list and Brandon would be out soon to assess and fix." He never came. Miranda never communicated. I even expressed concern that she was intentionally delaying it past the 2 year mark and I have her saying in writing that they'd honor it but it's been almost another whole year since I've even gotten a response. So, you might pay less going with Brandon but you're going to pay for that difference elsewhere. Strongly do not recommend!!!!!

He arrived almost 2 hours later than our arranged time. Wasn't a big deal. He did a decent job with the lights. He could not hang all the shutters due to humidity and said he would come back to finish the job. I paid him the remaining $400 when he came back July 11. On July 15, I texted Justin to let him know a shutter had come off the house, and another was close to falling off. It is now Sept. 6 and after multiple texts and several promises to return, he has not been back and has stopped responding to my messages. The second shutter did come off, as well as a third. Please do not hire Justin/Knuckle Busters. I feel bad writing a review like this, but I am not sure what else to do at this point. I feel my messages were reasonable and it's not like I hounded him every day. I just want the job I paid for to be finished satisfactorily. It's not a lot to ask for.

He stored the materials for our project so that we could get them at a cheaper rate by ordering ASAP. (Every company we contacted was months away from starting new projects so my tip; get the bids many months before you want your project completed bc every company was backed up) Gary told us that the colors we wanted for our deck initially probably wouldn't actually look good with our house color, so we trusted Gary's opinion on that and so glad we did!!! Our deck matches perfectly and looks like it came with the house. Also, Gary opined that we should change the stair layout from the original layout with our old deck, and he was right about that! Aaron was our builder and he was here every day working well past dark. He is MacGyver! He must be a genius with physics. He left the worksite cleaner than he found it. Angie works in the office and always responded to every question promptly and is very helpful. She helped us fill out the Timbertech warranty when the project was finished. Great team to work with! Trustworthy and very reliable. We love our new deck and have no regrets with using GM.
