We discovered an issue with the installation where the turf base had been built up directly against and underneath our wooden fence. When we later needed to repair the deteriorating bottom of the fence, the fence contractor couldn't perform the work without disturbing the turf and base. I contacted RLG while the turf installation was still within the one-year installation warranty included in our contract. I sent photos and explained the issue. Rick acknowledged that they had installed the turf butted up to the fence and told me he would send a crew that Saturday to address the issue. No one showed up, and I received no call or message. I followed up again afterward and received no response. Problems can happen with any project. What matters to me is how a company handles them. I gave RLG multiple opportunities to address an issue during the warranty period, and they initially agreed to do so. They then missed the appointment and stopped communicating. A written warranty doesn't provide much peace of mind if the company doesn't respond when you need to use it. Based on my experience, I would not use RLG Landscaping again.

Because I have had my share of not so great ones. I got a few quotes to build a garbage can pad on the side of the garage. We stored our cans there but it was a pain to lug it thru the grass and dirt, especially when it was wet outside. We looked into concrete and pavers. John came and gave us some great information with a very good explanation of what he was going to do. He wasn't the cheapest but he was also not the most expensive. But, he was professional and amicable. Not pushy at all. We spoke about what we wanted and drew up some lines in the grass. He gave us some options and then directed us to a catalog for us to pick our stones. With the pricing per sq ft. This was nice so we could decide what we really wanted. We weren't in a rush and went out of town but he came back with his crew in about a week and they were done in about 1.5 days. They probably could have squeezed it in 1 but started later because they were finishing up a job. By the way, in Carol Stream you don't need a permit for a pad like this made of pavers. They consider it a sidewalk and it was not large enough for a permit. Make sure you speak to an actual permit person because I was initially told it's a stoop but there are a lot of restrictions (like distance from boundary and outer doors) that didn't make sense. When I spoke to the permit guy he told me I didn't need one. That was a relief! I will post some photos soon, but I highly recommend Lawn Mob!~
