It's been two years since Johnny did our New concrete patio and fence we are still loving it! Enjoying it to the max! He did a wonderful job our stamped concrete looks beautiful! We get lots of compliments not only did he do our concrete but he did our neighbors, our neighbors' brother's, and a couple of other neighbors' concrete patios on our street, everyone is very happy and satisfied and we highly recommend Velasco Landscapes with Johnny! Johnny was great. He answered the phone right away - every other company put me to voicemail (and a week later!). He came soon after to survey the job for his estimate. He had a lot of great ideas and options for the job at hand - we really wish we had found him and his company earlier to contract the main job (installation of a new shed). He is really personable and it was really great talking to him. He involved my wife when she came out - and we kind of lost track of time as we were talking about some of his previous jobs, his work at his home, and even his cool truck. The job was done when he scheduled it, and done very well (better than the people who would later put up my shed). We had him put down a framed, gravel base and it turned out great. Johnny and his crew were awesome! Quick to respond with a quote to remove grass and put in a putting green. Great communication and completed the job in half the time i expected, without skipping a step. Removed 4" of soil, put down gravel, sand, compacted it and went out of the way to lay new sod around the border even though it wasn't in original quote. Would use them again! read more

Velasco Landscapes is THE BEST in The Midwest! WOW! What a truly magnificent experience I had, working with Johnny V. and his crew! I needed to clear a dense patch in the yard, overgrown with mint plants and weeds, in order to create a smooth area of soil to plant a Vegetable Garden. I needed a landscaper on a Saturday, to do the job that day. As usual, I searched on YELP to find the best. I found the highly rated, VELASCO LANDSCAPES, and contacted Johnny V., the owner. I asked if he could come by that day, to create a garden area out of the weed patch. Johnny agreed to do the job, and quoted me an excellent price. Later that afternoon, he arrived with his talented crew, equipped with shovels, rakes, huge pruning shears, and a fantastic motorized tilling machine. I was amazed at how fast and efficient everyone was. They dug out the thick roots, pulled out countless mint plants, and tilled the soil about 10 inches deep to create a perfect area to plant my vegetables! Everyone was upbeat, kind, and professional. I never expected such brilliant work... and super fast, too! Johnny and company cleared the area to create an ideal environment for my new veggie plants. When they were finished, it was a breeze to dig the holes for my gallon containers of tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, rosemary, and basil! Pass this one by. A good friend referred him to me so I called him on 4 12 2021. It is now July 5th (4 months) and I am STILL waiting from him to either give me an estimate or do the work. I have been in contact with him numerous times since April. I sent him pictures. In early June he was supposed to come to the house and take a look. He neither showed up or called. I am aware that landscaping firms are busy but this is just beyond that. It is downright discourteous and unprofessionial. I told my friend that she should NOT give him another referral. read more
