They were thorough while quoting, assisted us through all of our concerns, and provided a range of options to solve some of the more unique aspects of the project. The workmen were prompt, efficient, and professional. The job was completed exactly within the parameters we set. The team followed up a few weeks after the installation and immediately returned to fix a small issue. Andrew's integrity really shone through recently, however. Years after the roof installation, we called Andrew's in the hope they could assist with an issue we were having. Part of our home has a covered patio where the roof decking is exposed from below. Because the decking was so thin, the roofing nails protruded through the underside after the new shingles were installed. In hindsight, this was a unique situation that probably would have benefited from a different approach during the installation. Years later, when the exposed decking itself began to weather and deteriorate, Andrew's once again stepped up. Even though they really weren't obligated to do anything at that point, they came out within a few weeks and completely enclosed and finished the underside of the patio, including painting it, leaving it looking better than before. That kind of service is rare. They didn't have to stand behind us years after the original installation, but they did anyway. It's easy to find a contractor who will take your money. It's much harder to find one who still answers the phone years later and genuinely wants to make things right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew's Roofing. This is our second home and our first sexy roof purchase and I'm super pleased with the aesthetics and function. Also, Gerardo has such an amazingly positive personality, he's wonderful to meet up with and discuss the details of how he's going to make your roof better, from ventilation to water proofing to preventing storm damage. And he's so gleeful in sharing his knowledge, that I would say (with the utmost respect) that he's a roofing geek. If there are roofing conventions, he's probably there learning more new "exciting" things about the best and newest techniques for better insulation and blah blah blah... The crew, OMG, the crew was amazing and they worked so darn hard. They ripped everything off and then stayed late to get the majority of it finished for water-proofing because they thought there might be some rain the next day. These guys got to our home at 7 am and were there until a little past 10 pm. I was immediately attracted by the signage stating that there would be no in-house sales pitch. I spoke with Matt and learned that all that was needed in order to receive a bid was to send my rough measurements and photos of the current windows. That sounded easy enough! A tape measure and a cell phone were all I needed. Soon my information was off in an email. I also contacted other installers for bids and began researching the various window manufacturers to compare the window quality. Zen installs the 3 cost levels of Soft Lite windows, and the online reviews of the materials were positive. We decided to use Zen. Soon Dan came out to make accurate measurements. I spoke with Matt and decided to go with the middle level window and placed the order. We are extremely pleased with our choice. The window quality is excellent. The double-hung windows open and close smoothly and fold in for easy cleaning. We also selected a bay window with casement windows on each side to replace a picture window. Operation of the side windows is smooth. Further we are really happy that we went with the added expense of the bay window--we love it. Installation was fine, and there was a clear commitment to ensuring we were completely satisfied with the installation and finish work. So, all that is expected of any company. With Zen I received exactly what I was expecting! However, one element far exceeded my expectations: customer communication and service. This places Alix and Matt, owners of Zen, at the top with the very best. No question was a burden. Contacting with "Oh, I have another question..." always got a quick response. And no matter when I sent a message or question, be it Monday morning, Friday evening or even on a Sunday, I got a response usually within 15-30 minutes. If customer service and communication are important in a purchase decision, Zen Windows should absolutely be considered. Add in the other factors and Alix and Matt at Zen Windows get my highest recommendation. Tim said, no, the pitch wasn't steep enough for that type of vent and instead installed 13 vents along the back. He said we would have ended up with more problems with a ridge vent along the top, collecting rain and snow. His crew came, did the job professionally, quickly and cleaned up really well! They went around with a magnet pickup device (2 in all) to make sure they got everything. And when the dump trailer was picked up the driver went around AGAIN to make sure everything was clean!
