They took time to go over the handguns, having us test and hold each one. Next, they went over gun safety, had us practice several times with each gun. Answered all questions, and never once made us feel like we were asking a dumb question. Next, they accompanied us into the shooting range and stayed with us for quite awhile while my husband and I shot. Helpful, informative and worked with us on all aspects of shooting. Never once, did we feel rushed during any of the direction or training. The best part is that they don't sell guns so you get honest and open information and opinions about what would be good for you without an agenda. For first time shooters, they made us feel comfortable. We won't be going anyplace else. The prices were reasonable for the gun rentals as was the ammunition. This place * is free * always has 3 range safety officers present, who keep very good watch over safety issues. (i.e. they come over the intercom and say "Shoot what you have loaded, leave your guns open, and step behind the yellow line" -- excellent control over when the range is open, closed, not allowing shooters to approach their guns when range is closed, etc. ) * has ranges for 10 yard pistol, 25 yard, 50 yard, 100 yard, skeet, archery, and shotgun patterning. * just installed restrooms. real restrooms! * one of the safety officers is always in the tower where he can see the whole firing line. * the shooting benches are roofed to keep the sun off you * you can sit or stand at each location. * each shooting location is numbered, and the targets downrange is numbered. * the range officers are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every time I take somebody here for the first time, they kind of stare around and say "This place is *free* ?" I'm giving the Sharonville Shooting Range 5 stars, because... that's as high as the ranking system goes. :-)
