Today OPGC is managed by Oliphant and has seen a tremendous turn around in conditions, the bunkers have been restored with a few eliminated, and the pride and joy of playing OP is back. At only 5079 from the blues, and 4700 from the whites, OP is very playable by the average golfer and still challenges the better players due to its design and character. It was absolutely beautiful and everything I had envisioned for our wedding. Amanda Myers, the event coordinator, was AMAZING from beginning to end. She truly went above and beyond to help bring my dream wedding vision to life. She was attentive, helpful, organized, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our day everything we wanted it to be. So many of the little details that made our wedding special came together because of Amanda, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She is the heart of that place! The food was absolutely incredible! Our guests raved about it, and we heard so many compliments throughout the night. The Head Chef Krystal, and Sous Chef Andrew are extremely talented, and everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. Wedding food can sometimes be an afterthought at venues, but that was definitely not the case at Heather Downs. The meal was one of the highlights of the entire reception! When there aren't leagues around this is probably a four maybe even five star public course. If you make the mistake I did going out and wanting to get in some golf on league nights (M-Th) it's a one star course, just go somewhere else.
