We contacted Midwest telephone to service a system that they installed at a mutual clients business. This system was installed during the tenure of the previous IT directors. Once on-site to our surprise and dismay, their technician knew far less than our quick Google search had offered us. He know nothing of how the voicemail integrated into the system nor how to service or replace the necessary components. This lack of knowledge and utter ineptitude ended up costing the client weeks of downtime as we had to first scramble to find another provider that would even touch they system that was still under contract for service by another company. While consulting for a mutual client, this company was brought in to service our client's phone system. Nearly a year later, after that client's ownership has changed, they are harassing our firm to pay the bill because the client will not. They were not able to service the phone system our client had contracted them to service, and another provider had to be brought in to resolve the issue. Can't say I blame the client for not paying them, as service was never really rendered. A piece of hardware was ordered and never delivered, and the technician just sputtered about the MDF without ever actually providing any resolution or information to the problem. But the icing on the cake is them leaving negative reviews for us because we refuse to pay a bill we don't owe. We shared a mutual client, and Midwest's ownership is now throwing a fit because that mutual client didn't pay them. Their tech is dated, their technicians are not knowledgeable or efficient, and their business practices are highly unprofessional. I sold a used telephone system to Steve of Midwest Telephone Company for a pre approved price of merely $10 per used Panasonic Kit-7453 phone and $75 for the D1232 control cabinet. I also gave him 4 cordless Panasonic system phones and a Tvs-120 Voice mail at No Charge. Total price of $165 for which he sent me a PO. When he received it via UPS he "Claims" it was All Damaged and refused to pay for Any of it. I asked him to ship it back and he refused. I've had similar experiences with other "Refurb" outfits and believe that engage in this deceptive practice on a regular basis. To all my other Telcom Company friends I'd encourage you to take Midwest Telephone Company off you list of REFURB houses to do business with. They appear to be Unethical. I've been in Telcom for 35 years and have Never treated a fellow business or customer with such utter Dishonesty. How about mailing me a ck for $165 Steve as you agreed to.........? Our phone vendor went out of business and we were in need of some repairs. I sent Midwest's service department an email early in the morning. Much to my surprise, I received a call back within 15 minutes! A technician came the same day to make the repairs. I will continue to use Midwest for all of our small business phone needs.
