While in the process of refinancing our house, Walz was chosen by the bank to do our appraisal. We…read morehad bought only 2 years ago and since then had added a $4,000+ deck on to the back. Our appraisal came $8,000 LESS than from 2 years ago. All comparisons were from areas no where near the same and it was stated that sales were slow in this area and therefore only one other house in our neighborhood was compared, which was not true. We recently had it re-appraised for a different bank and it came out $10,000 more than 2 years before and $18,000 more than Walz while citing several recent and relevant sales in our neighborhood itself. This is a huge deal when having to pay PMI or not. I gave them 2 stars because they were nice enough and professional but need to understand the area better. They nearly cost us a lot of money.
