Started out so well....how did it end up like this! Our place was in desperate need of new windows--this is the type of purchase that you don't act on your impulse. Usually, the Yelp community rarely fails when it comes to recommending their best. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to our expectation. We started the process of ordering windows back in January. The sales rep was incredibly kind and professional--the way he approached our order instilled confidence that all would work out the way it should. We put down our deposit without hesitation and were quoted for windows to come out of production somewhere between 6-8 weeks. Fair. Let's accept the lagging production time during these CoVid days. We were told at time of deposit that we had 3 days to cancel the order or else we'd forfeit our deposit--it was clearly laid out in the contract. We noted. Early March about 5-6 weeks later we receive a call, and I initially thought that they call to say that our windows were done and wanted to schedule an install date. Nope! Instead, the office admin called to say that they had issues with getting a hold of our HOA for approval but didn't want to get the client involved. Um, what?! I understand not wanting to be bothersome, but after a few failed attempts, you would imagine that you would at least let your client know that there have been roadblocks preventing them from moving forward. I was shocked that they had waited over a month to tell me that, but I cooperated and tried to be of help and got them connected to our HOA. After much back and forth, our HOA ended up not approving the proposed windows, and Midwest Windows would not order/install without HOA approval. We were back at square one and tried to ask them what to do and of we could cancel the order, the owner verbally slipped and said that we could lose our 33% deposit since it was out of the 3-day contract term. UM.... EXCUSE US! We weren't even informed about the office not being able to reach out HOA until over a month later! How would we have known that it wasn't going to work out when we weren't even informed about the progress or lack thereof. During this very frustrating time, every time I'd call the office, no one was able to given me an answer and that I'd have to wait for the owner who happened to not be in the office for an extended period of time. Not sure why there weren't other ppl who could have helped with our order issues. The office admin who had been working on our order seemed curt and annoyed every time I called. Fast forward 8 months later...EIGHT! (Was quoted 6-8 weeks) we finally were scheduled for install. Installers were late (arrived after hours...no masks worn). And the installation quality wasn't anything to write home about. Messy caulk everywhere, frame not painted (to be fair, they did tell us that they don't paint them) but it did look dirty. I'm disappointed. Windows aren't cheap and we decided to not go with a big box store to support local business and expected better customer service than say Lowe's.

These guys are AMAZING!!!! After having some 5-star crappy experiences with a handful of other window and door companies, I as pretty thrilled when it seemed like they actually had a professional CRM sales process. Most of these window and door companies are run by contractors, that know the trade. But have almost zero knowledge about a ran a modern day professional sales experience and crush it. These guys do! And we the customers get to benefit while they are probably silently siphoning business away from all of the other companies run by flunkies. Steve came out the next day, gave me a quote on the spot. I signed the contract, gave him a deposit and three weeks later my new patio door was installed. The install crew was dope AF, the two man crew spent almost the entire day installing the new patio door and did an amazing job. Great craftsman, excellent attention to detail. Ohhh, and they were also the lowest priced option by a considerable amount. The door cost me a total of $2200, even the no-name Craigslist guys were over $2500. 10 out 10, highly recommend!

We learned that the old windows were not even windows by today's standards, they were just huge panes of glass that gave no insulation. He measured the windows so quickly (like 2 minutes) that I wondered if the windows world 3 actually fit (they did!). The price was extremely reasonable; we had intended to get three estimates but my mom and I both lined Kris so much we decided to go with him right away. I chose a day for installation when Kris was going to be out of town on vacation so he let me decide if we wait to wait until he got back or if we wanted him to send his right hand man Daniel. We went with Daniel who showed up right on time on a cold morning. I thought removing the old badly cracked panes of glass would be very difficult. I was right but they got the old ones out quickly and the new ones in so fast and they finished about 30 minutes before their estimate. They only removed one window at a time and our house never got cold on a 33 degree day This was one of the best customer experiences for a project I have ever had. I chose EV Windows after asking CharGBT to find me a great window company with very good reviews and I'm so glad I did. I do not have one negative thing to say. I most strongly recommend Kris and his team.

Their care and attention to detail stood out. They were incredibly respectful of the surrounding furniture, walls, and floors, and the cleanup was so thorough that the only sign they had been there were the beautiful new windows. I would strongly recommend Chris and his team to anyone looking to replace their windows at a competitive price.

They came out to measure everything we needed, quoted us on what we wanted and a few other optional windows as well since we were debating on doing everything at once. After selecting the quote for the windows we wanted to get done, a down payment was made and the windows were ordered. They came in a few weeks later and two of their team members came out to install them in the morning. Everything was done quickly and professionally with care. After the install, I had a question about one of the windows since it looked like there was a small crack at the top corner and they sent someone out to look at it right away. It turned out it was just some glue residue that was attached on the inside of the window that made it look like a crack and was easly scraped off with a razor blade. I definitley recommend using Semko as they provided a very reliable service and also beat out many other window companies with their competitive pricing.

It took about 3 weeks to be custom made and 1 day to install. The installers did an amazing job! So fast, helpful, moved my furniture and installed all of the windows, put foam insulation around the frames and capped everything on the outside in aluminum. I can already notice the difference in temperature in my house. It looks beautiful. I had a question about how to work one of the windows a few weeks later and called Semko, and they came right out to show me how to use it the same day! We had two condo units in our building update windows as well as two back hallway windows, and Jacob provided a highly competitive quote. He was kind and patient when we waited for other unit owners in the building to decide, and did not push us to move quicker or make a decision when we were not yet ready. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Jacob really cares about being transparent and has earned our trust, and I would 100% recommend him and his team to anyone looking to install new windows in their home.
