(No power supply, rack folded in an unusable manner, etc..) When I asked about it, the sales associate said "yeah we usually don't bother keeping the low-end kits set up." I was looking at either an Alesis Strata Prime or Roland TD516. Both are about $3500. He told me to come back another day and they should be working. I went back today (ready to buy) and the Alesis is still missing the power supply. The same sales rep said, "yeah they keep disappearing." No offer to look for one or any sort of real assistance. Overall pretty disappointing.

The specific keyboard I wanted was not in stock, but he ordered it for me to be delivered to my house. It's been quite some time since I've made a purchase at guitar center and the last time I was there buying a midi controller the lady helping me seemed pretty unmotivated and didn't seem to know anything about what I was looking to purchase. I'm really glad to say Jon St Pierre was very knowledgeable, very fast to help us and provide us with good customer service, and he had a great attitude. In my opinion he is a shining example of what customer service should be especially when spending hundreds of dollars on an instrument you hope will last for a long time.

I have broken off a…read moreheadstock on a Gibson, have numerous sets of pick ups replaced in my Strat, had them chase down hard to find rattles in a semi-hollow body, and they have corrected the set up on several used guitars I bought. I even had them do final assembly on my barncaster, and they did a fantastic job. It looks and plays just how I wanted it. I'm happy to give them a five star review. They earned it.

He carries new and consignment guitars. He does repairs as well. When I told Jack that I had been discouraged trying to learn to play in the past because I didn't have alot of strength in my fingers, he showed me a great guitar that he had made some adjustments to. He said it would make it easier for a beginner to learn on. It's been 5 days since I left his shop with that guitar and I have to say he was right! Much easier to play and has a great tone (makes my beginners struggles sound a whole lot better lol)

I recently rented a pair of 1500w speakers from this GC at Pineville…read more I knocked 2 stars off due to my experience this time. I am a repeat customer (have rented speakers last year and bought a guitar from here). The store is well stocked and there are many musical instruments on the floor that customers can interact with the get a feel for them before deciding to purchase. The issue was with customer service. For most part it was good. I interacted with 4 different customer support people and all were perfectly fine except for one which is why I knocked 2 stars off. Here is what happened during this visit-- I rented the speakers for a function which was to take please in a huge indoor space which is the Indian Land Recreation center. The space is larger than this GC with ceiling hight nearly double that of GC. Both speakers looked a little dinged when I rented them. So I purchased insurance. We tested them in the store itself. Both were functional at normal talking volume. But once we setup the speakers in the huge indoor space and raised the volume to a reasonable level one of the two speakers performed very poorly and started producing thumping noise. So we reduced its gain to a lower decibel level. It was around just 60% of the other speaker. Still I could tell that the sound lacked crispness. So after the function when I returned the speakers to GC. I informed them that one specific speaker performed very poorly & that they should use the insurance I have purchased to replace it. So that they don't put it back into circulation again and some other people who rent it would have a bad experience. Then I requested for a partial refund of the rental value of one speaker. Instead of telling me what is the specific verbiage of the store policy the manager Mr. Dean was giving me a very purely subjective explanation of how in middle of my function I should have called the GC to tell them how the speaker was not performing well! So I asked if the store policy specifically says that if I called earlier like he said he would give a discount of any amount? To which he came up with more off tangent explanation about why insurance is important. So I explained to him that I did buy the insurance but the issue was with the rent I paid for a proper functioning speaker which I did not get (only one speaker functioned well). Again his implication was that we just used perfect speakers but now after the fact want to trick them into giving a refund. I challenged him to test the speakers then and there and raise the volume to the same level in both speakers and then he could tell how one of the speakers failed. He had no answer except that all speakers perform to less than their rated wattage and that's the natural order of things. I am no Audiophile but even I know that fact (since I was not born just yesterday). But there is an expectation of reasonable performance from any equipment that we rent. But that was not there in this case. So in the end they basically said that when you rent Speakers from them it can be a hit or miss and we have to be prepared for that risk. During our function many singers complained about the poor output and lacking the impact they expected. It was disappointing to the singers and the audience. So I have decided to purchase new set of speakers for the next year but definitely not from this GC because then I will be rewarding them for not standing behind their product quality and not showing a willingness to provide a fair customer support!

Horrible experience. I came in on Sunday, 8/30 to rent a speaker and mic for a not-for-profit event…read moreplanned for that evening. The speaker worked for approximately 4 minutes before emitting a loud tapping sound. Repeated attempts to fix, but no luck. We paused the event while locating/ setting up a new speaker. It was late and Guitar Center was already closed. I bring back the speaker on Monday, yesterday, explain what had happened, and ask about a refund. The associate seems annoyed and says the "acting store manager" will need to talk to me, who is standing behind him. Eventually the "acting store manager" half turns to me and says "my store manager will have to make that call" and says "You should have called when something went wrong." I explained that this happened after Guitar Center was closed. He repeats himself and tells me the "store manager will be in tomorrow" and that I'll have to call in then. Nobody says "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything like that. Guitar Center opens at 11, so I called today, 9/1, at 11:30 to speak with Store Manager Michael Rismiller. I was told he had left for the day. I then ask if there's anyone I can speak with about a refund on my rental equipment. I'm put on hold for 10 minutes, after which the phone redials the number and I speak to a Jason S. I am then put on hold again, and after another 5-7 minutes of waiting, Jason gets back on to say his "system is down" and he'll try to call me back in 30 minutes, "hopefully." As of this writing, still no call. Obvious runaround, tons of apathy, rude demeanors, the works. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! UPDATE 1: Jason S reached back out, denied the speaker was malfunctioning, and said "the best we can do would be like a 50% refund." Jason S said they played music through the speaker to test it. I explained that we were using a mic. Jason S cut me off and said "actually music is the more reliable test." Fortunately, I have video evidence of the speaker malfunctioning. Jason S requested that I send that to him at his email address, which I will be doing. I will also send to Michael Rismiller and the District Manager Dutch Wermuth. UPDATE 2: I emailed the store associate Jason S the video evidence that he required in order to process a refund on my faulty equipment rental. I've not heard back. I called the store to follow up but the phone rang repeatedly without anyone picking up. UPDATE 3: I called again and Jason agreed to the full refund. Updating to two stars. I also heard back from Dutch Wermuth today.

Not even close I called Bob Watson and was told it was built in 2008. I was also told by Roger it was Brazilian rosewood from an old piano that was salvaged for the sound board. AGAIN NOT TRUE! Now @ years layer I find out its Indian rosewood!! How did I find this out? I found Bob Watsons Facebook page and see my guitar with a sign in the background of what its made of!!! I will tell this story for the rest of my life. I hope you heed my warning
