This is our second (and much larger) move with Mighty movers. Abby form the office is always cheerful, quick to respond and on top of what is happening. Our team of movers, Cliff, Terrence, Marvin and Maria worked tirelessly and carefully. We have 35 steps in our townhouse and large heavy pieces of furniture. Their teamwork was impressive. Moving team was polite, tidy and focused - a continuation of the polite and prompt attention received from Cliff our initial contact (sales) and the young lady at the office. To preface this review, I will say that I have used Mighty Movers a few years ago and they were exceptional. I have moved 5 times in the past 5 years and have used other movers in between my mighty movers experiences. Mighty Movers was the least expensive option this time around so I decided to go with them. The movers arrived on time and started moving right away. Didn't have to sign anything to sign off on a "start time" but assumed they were keeping track. I thought everything was going well until I got a call from the Mighty Movers headquarters. Apparently the guys complained that the move was too hard and wanted more guys to help with the job. The man on the phone tried to convince me that adding two additional movers would cut our move in time by half. Mind you that my move started at 7:30am and he was trying to tell me it was going to go to 6pm unless I added 2 more guys for $60/hour. Also, most of my furniture was just going to go into the garage of the new house so they didn't have to take it up any stairs. Like i mentioned before, I've moved several times into and from similar houses and have never had a problem before. It just felt really shady like they were trying to get more money out of me. Guy tried to convince me that i'd be saving money and that it was my fault that i hadn't been honest with my quote, when i was looking at my estimate request and it had been 100% truthful. Not sure what was going on - I had a feeling they had another job and were worried about making it to that one on time. Not sure why I have to pay more for their mistake? Anyway, while this phone call was going on, I was noticing how much damage had actually been done to my old houses walls. Holes and scratches all over. Clearly were manhandling all my stuff, didn't put down any sort of protection to my floors or walls at all nor did they attempt to take furniture apart until we asked. At this point, I was getting too stressed out and tired of arguing so i told the guy to do what he thought was best. When they get to the new house I assumed the extra guys would show up. Never saw them. And guess what? The job ended up ending at 11:30am. So much for it going until 6pm. When they finished, the movers had us talk to some guy on the phone to get our total.. We never signed anything to show that they ended the job.. Never got an itemized receipt of our payment.. Who knows if we got charged for the extra movers. At that point we were just done with them. Little did we know, it was just the beginning. As we are starting to go through our things that had just been delivered, we noticed a lot of damage to our furniture. Scratches all over. Holes/nicks in the walls of t.. Whatever, part of moving, right? But the part that was the worst was that we were missing a couch foot. We called as soon as we realized it was missing and thankfully they located it on the truck. Said they would swing by after the job. 8pm..9pm roll around.. no foot. The next morning I call again to remind them that they still have my couch foot. Not a problem, late delivery, said they would swing by around 12pm. Cool. 12 comes and goes.. around 4pm we call again. This time they said they were on their way and would be there in a half hour to drop it off. We had errands to run and had been waiting around all day for them so we told them to just leave it on the front porch. We get home around 8pm and STILL NO FOOT. At this point I'm really annoied after everything that had happened with this company. Finally we call them and demand the foot. as soon as we hang up a car comes careening down the street. its the guy!! had no idea what the hell he was doing, but WE FINALLY GOT THE FOOT! In the end, these guys were quick and got my stuff from point a to b. However, all the in between definitely made a stressful event even more stressful. We now have ruined furniture and have to do repairs to both the old and new houses, but hey, we can actually sit on our couch, finally.. Not only that, I felt like they were trying to rip me off and take advantage of me. The whole ordeal felt shady. Bottomline: Will I use them again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend them? They arrived 10 minutes early, packed everything carefully to protect it, and were equally efficient and careful when unpacking. The two movers were very polite and professional. They were good sports about moving a heavy piece to different spots in the room while she decided where it looked best. I felt their price was very fair, too. DAMAGED our furniture, DAMAGED our walls, and RIPPED OUT GOUGES in our driveway! WORST MOVING COMPANY and unprofessional movers, and RUDEST staff (Cliff and Hannah)! This company created a NIGHTMARE for us! If you are expecting professional movers, that is not what you will get. Here, the extra dollar would have been worth it! And the management is far less professional than the movers! BE WARNED! After collectively doing 25+ moves between my husband and I, this was the most horrible moving experience I have ever heard of, with the most unprofessional and disrespectful employees and owner--yelling, screaming, and name calling. I cannot warn you any stronger--DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I'll get into the actual move below, but I'll start with what prospective clients need to know most. The movers literally (1) made significant gouges in, and ripped paint off of, three walls (dropping furniture down the stairs and kicking furniture up the stairs), (2) forced their truck on our driveway that did not fit, high-centering it and ripping our parts of our driveway, (3) caused gouges in our nice wood furniture, (4) carried furniture (e.g., a bar) improperly, causing the top of it to become nonsecure from the bottom portion, and (5) laughed when they dropped boxes/furniture and caused damage to the walls. Then, when we were trying to get assistance from the company for the damage to the walls and driveway, (1) Cliff, the owner was non-responsive, didn't return calls, and was generally hard to get a hold of, (2) Cliff eventually came out and was rude, said didn't think any of it was a big deal but would fix it, and that he would have left some of our furniture at the bottom of the stairs saying it was too large (even though he had yet to see it, and other movers had no problem), (3) Cliff hung up on us when we asked who the contractors were and when they would come to fix the damage, (4) Hannah called back and when we tried to explain what happened, she began interrupting and yelling and screaming and even name calling--she said she wouldn't listen to us, that they were not legally liable for any damage and didn't have to pay us anything, and would give us $300, take it or leave it. She then kept repeatedly yelling to tell us how much we want, and we tried to explain that we would need someone to give us an estimate on the driveway and asked whether they had gotten an estimate themselves and that's when she hung up (it is recorded since they said we have to take them to court to get anything from them--luckily, I'm a litigator, so heed this warning especially if you have to pay someone to enforce your rights--with this company, you will have to). I WILL UPDATE THIS AFTER THE COURT PROCEEDINGS. If you want more info of this nightmare... The movers indicated that they might scratch a wall taking a box spring up the stairs, we said we didn't think it was necessary but would understand a scratch. The young girl carrying the box spring didn't have the strength to carry it and dropped it, which is what caused the initial scratch. We were irritated by the damage to the wall and that she laughed at it. We thought they would take more care going forward, but they didn't and seemed to take the fact that we understood a scratch, that was cart blanche to take no care with our home and belongings--we then saw them kicking another box spring up the stairs (their kicking jammed it into 3 walls), and we would see boxes tumbling down. They dropped our safe several times and are surprised (happily) that the porch and tile foyer isn't damaged as well. We spent significant time explaining where everything went, in addition to it being labeled, but many boxes ended up in completely random places (kitchen and master bedroom in basement and garage). EVEN WORSE THAN ALL THE DAMAGE, was how we were treated by Cliff and Hannah. It is truly appalling--a little dignity and respect goes a long way, which was completely lacking here. When we called the company to discuss this damage, they were very hard to get a hold of and rude. The owner, Cliff, came out to look at the damage and said he would have just left box springs at the bottom of the stairwell and not tried to carry them up, that they were too big--mind you, he said this before even seeing the box springs. Other movers had been able to move those same box springs in tighter stairwells. He said he would have the walls fixed and would send out a contractor. He looked at the driveway and said it was not a big deal but he would have it fixed. But, after Hannah's screaming, hanging up, and not answering our calls, we are assuming they have closed the door on us and no intention of repairing any of the damage they caused or responding to their responsibility. Again, if you are expecting professional movers, that is not what you will get. And the management is far less professional than the movers! BE WARNED! read more

I was unhappy with my interactions with Mighty Movers. I recently moved out of a one bedroom and the cost came close to $1k. I didn't have a whole lot of things. The movers kept pushing the time back several times on the moving day. Also, when I booked my move a young lady named Abi left out important information regarding the insurance. I never knew insurance was available through mighty movers. Also, I received a call the day before my move and was asked if I'd like to have three movers instead of two. I agreed to use three movers and was told that it would make the time go by faster. Also, Abi told me that there would only be a $40 fee for an additional mover. She never said it would be added to the hourly rate. There was miscommunication all throughout the process. Once the movers arrived I did not receive a kind welcome from them and was not given direct eye contact at times, but angry looks of annoyance when I was explaining what needed to be moved. I received the invoice and to my surprise the total came to $915 for a one bedroom move. The three movers took 4.5 hours to move everything. I am disappointed by the charge and the services from this mover. One of my glass nightstands got damaged during the move and I was offered $60 for the damage. There was a gentleman that called my phone from a separate number and kept asking me what I did for a living. This was unprofessional and too personal. The overall experience was not good. I did not feel comfortable with the movers (the older gentleman kept looking at me from afar, but would not give direct eye contact) I am glad I had a man present with me during the move. I am glad that I was able to move everything, but not happy with the miscommunication, time, and excessive cost. I expressed my concerns with Cliff and stated that I did not understand why the move took 4.5 hours with three men moving the items. Cliff then offered to come by my apartment to take a look at everything. This is not professional and I do not feel comfortable with having anyone from this company in my place. Nobody likes moving, and I'll probably always find something wrong with the way a move is executed, but this company did a pretty good job. My main gripe is that they cost more than some of the other local companies would have charged. The customer service is really one of the finer points. Receiving the quote and scheduling my move were all pretty convenient, which was what I needed. With so many moving parts with my move, I really didn't have time to scrutinize how much they were charging me, because they were available and their staff seemed competent enough. On my moving day, they arrived kind of late and I had to call to find out what was going on. About 40 minutes after the original time they arrived, which wasn't the biggest deal ever, but I had planned the day carefully and it interfered a bit with that. Everything was packed well and fairly quickly considering the large amount of stuff I had crammed into my place, and when they arrived at my place everything was put where I wanted it. They seemed to know the drill and worked hard until they were done. Other than the overall value and some small issues, I was happy with how the move went and would probably recommend them. read more

**Updated 5/5/2014** Hannah from Mighty Movers called and they apologized and explained all the circumstances that led to my disappointment. They provided a considerable discount, and very obviously wanted to make things right with me. I appreciate a company that tries to make things right with an unhappy customer. It's rare these days to find companies that offer true customer service. I will think about using them again in the future if I have another need for movers. They did what they said for the price they quoted, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Pros: They did what they said they would do for the price they quoted. Once they arrived, they did the job quickly and professionally. The woman (Hannah) who arranged my appt, was very professional and organized. Cons: Original appointment was for 12:30 - 2. It got pushed from 3-4, then they called me the day of the appt. and pushed it to 6 p.m. I was only having a couple of items moved so it wasn't a big deal. I just felt it was ridiculous that I had to pay $100 to reserve a time that they couldn't meet. If they had rescheduled once, it wouldn't even have been a big deal, but twice made them look unprofessional. The movers didn't have any instructions prior to the move. I had to explain everything and input the address into the driver's GPS for him. When the furniture was delivered, they told my brother they wouldn't take the old furniture to the dump, even though that had been discussed and paid for at the time I made the appointment. They called their boss and it was explained, but again, just poor communication and unprofessional. For all the above issues, I was offered a 3% discount if I paid cash. I couldn't have paid cash to the driver because I wasn't at the drop off locale. I know that the 3% is the surcharge they pay to the credit card company, so it wasn't a discount to me, it was a "break-even" for them. It was kind of insulting that they thought I would be grateful for that. I didn't even ask for a discount, but I feel like the fact that they picked up 5 hours after the original appt. should've entitled me to one. The job got done and I was glad, but I have worked with many more moving companies who were more professional. read more

Mighty Movers LLC... absolutely ROCK, the interaction and response from Hannah was first class, Chris and his team are stars, these guys busted a$$ for almost 10 hours straight, they were polite, professional and very understanding.. Are MMLLC the cheapest moving company absolutely not, but you get what you pay, if you want a professional and courteous company, this is the one... if you want cheap, then good luck with that!. I used them twice so far to move me out of a townhouse and into storage and then out of storage and into my new place. The folks are quick and flexible. If plans change they will work with you. Longer version: they arrived with 3 movers, even though the quote was for 2, and still charged the same price despite the fact that the move went much quicker than expected. They were 4 hours late and was told when I booked them that if I don't use the full 3-5 hours that I wouldn't be charged for the full amount. After the 3rd hour someone called to offer me to pay $30 more for an extra mover so they can get it done faster. I declined obviously. Highly recommend Mighty Movers! They arrived at our place on time, and went right to work. One thing that stood out is we were concerned about drawers in the dresser, and odd-shaped items, but they were equipped to wrap everything in protective covering. These guys worked with extreme efficiency, carrying several heavy items at once with ease. When we arrived at the new place, it unfortunately started raining, but these guys pressed on without delay. I needed to move but because of my working hours, needed some flexibility. Mighty Movers was very helpful and professional with the scheduling. On the day of the move, it was raining hard. I called them to see if they needed to reschedule. They were willing to move me even in bad weather if that was what I needed. We rescheduled. On the day of the move, three movers came out. Movers showed up on time, moved everything out quickly and easily without any help or input needed from me, then moved it all into storage, all within the time window I was quoted. When we got to the storage unit, I realized I would need to move around the stuff I already had in there so that the incoming furniture and boxes could fit. WOW ! This team of movers was by far the best experience I have had, they were prompt, professional, caring, fast and knowledgeable. This was not an easy move and it involved multiple properties and locations and they handled everything without any problems.
